Asher sighed. "Well...that was...different." He stood and glanced out the window of his apartment. Funny, he could see that spot where he had found the body from here.
Asher froze. Wait....lady with guns...in his home....near sight of death....
"Hey wait a minute!" He yelled, running out of his home to catch up.

Penelope heard a shout behind her. She turned and saw the man from before running towards her. Hm...that doesn't look like a good sign.
She turned and feigned a sweet smile. She folded her hands behind her back, one with a grappling gun, the other with her pistol. "What do you want?"

"Why the hell were you in my apartment...with guns? So close to a murder scene?" Asher had his wire in hands.

"What'cha doing, Dad?" Mini Power bounced into the lab where her father worked.
"Oh, just a little something," he grinned. "The Power Hook! It can latch on to any surface and stick to it, as long as the crystals don't run out of power." It looked like something out of a cheesy comic book featuring a superhero that dressed as a nocturnal flying mammal. Except this one actually worked.
"Cool!"
"Mini, have you seen your brother?"
"Max? No, not since this morning when he said he was going to 'cause them DEPCo. flunkies some trouble'."
"Oh, that boy..." Harrison removed his glassed and rubbed his temples. Max was going to give him an ulcer one day.
"Dad!" Mini tugged on his shirt sleeve. "Today you said you would show me the generators!"
"Oh yes, that's right." He replaced his glasses, and took his daughter by the hand. "Come along."
Mini giggled all the way.
~~~~~~~~
Max hurled another car at the DEPCo. headquarters.
Penelope cocked her head to one side and feigned innocence. "There was a murder? I can assure you that it's my job to carry these weapons, but I would never use them for cruel murder. I fight for justice!...and I was in your apartment because it happened to be open when I was tired..."
"I doubt it." Asher said. "In the name of DEPCo, I think you need to come with me. Quietly."
Penelope hummed to herself. "Um....No."
She launched her grapple gun and went sailing into the air. A hail of bullets rained down upon Asher as she fired from her pistol. Once she ran out of cable, Penelope flipped onto the roof of the building and gave a little salute. "See ya!" She turned and ran off.
Max looked up from his rampant destruction to notice a female swinging out of a building. "Hey!" he called. "Need some help?"
The car that should have normally hit DEPCo was reflected by a Power Crystal induced energy field. Only the best for DEPCo... Nathan thought as he eyed his headquarters from the Omnistar restaurant. He sipped on his milkshake and his cheerleaders did the same, all the while staring at him dreamily.
"Ladies...You're scaring me. Thanks for the attention, though." Nathan flashed his ridiculously bright smile and the cheerleaders nearly fainted on the spot. "I wonder how Asher's doing?" Nathan asked himself. He decided to step outside, allowing his cheerleaders a break from their usual task. Immediately he noticed Max, Asher, and an unidentifiable figure moving from building to building. "Well, that can't be good..." he deduced, taking out his cell phone once again.
"All problems can be solved through the company." Nathan dialed DEPCo's number, asked for a certain extension, and spoke through the phone. "Hello? Yes, it is I, Nathan. Yes, establish a miniature press conference. Ensure that it can be viewed on every television. That especially applies to the large plasma screens on Omnistar and the HQ. Thank you. That is all." Nathan hung up and in mere seconds a helicopter was at the scene, waiting to take him to the HQ for his broadcasting. Momentarily he was somewhere at the top of DEPCo HQ in the broadcasting station. He took his microphone, sat at a desk, and spoke toward the camera. Hundreds of media people were their recording the CEO.
"Good evening, citizens of Dynasty City! I understand that the recent price increase of electricity has caused many of you to think that its expensive. It's unaffordable. It's impossible to survive here. And I feel absolutely sorry for each and every one of you. I understand that with all of the other bills you have to pay, an electric bill increase is the last thing you all need. While I cannot lower the price of energy per se, I can offer you this alternative!"" Nathan reached under his desk and took a high tech camera from it. "I am proud to introduce the new Dynasty Electric Power Corporation 'Eyes for Energy' program! Some of you may be thinking 'Well what the heck does that mean?!' I'll tell you! The Eyes for Energy program will provide each of our customers one of these beautiful cameras. All you have to do is put them up on your property and around the house, and each month we'll give you a waiver that gives you a 10 percent decrease on energy costs! We hope that this program will not only please our customers, but provide a way for us to become...closer and more unified! Effective immediately, I hope the Eyes for Energy program is a huge success!" Nathan finished the speech with his beautiful smile and shut off the camera. The media personalities were all clapping and in just about every house a family was clapping wildly as well. They probably knew that it was an inherently bad idea to have cameras in their house, but the cost of energy was so high that a 10 percent decrease meant a lot to them.
"Hope you guys enjoyed the speech." Nathan flashed his smile at the media men and women in his audience; most of the women fainted. The men carried the women down the elevator outside and Nathan laughed. As he did so, countless helicopters carried boxes of cameras (similar to the one Nathan had shown during his speech) to the populace. Nathan walked to his back, recently added surveillance room, and he was already receiving feeds from hundreds of buildings. Particularly, Nathan was able to spy on Asher, Max, and Penelope (whom he could now identify) from this room.
"Too easy." he laughed, sitting back in his chair and watching the scene play out.
Penelope gracefully lowered herself with her grappling gun and landed in front of Max. Phew, that guy just couldn't drop it, could he? All I did was sleep in his bed...I was tired.
Penelope glanced at Max. "I don't need help. I can take care of myself. Why don't you go back to hurling cars at people?" She curled her finger around her strand of hair as she spoke. It was a habbit.
"Well, that's not all I do," Max said, slightly abashed.
~~~~~
"...And this is where the two crystals are brought into close proximity to each other." Harrison was just finishing showing Mini the generator complex when his Power Communicator alerted him to happenings within DEPCo. There were two messages.
"What is it, daddy?"
"It's DEPCo. my dear. Let's see... Apparently, Nathan Veralice raised the price of electricity earlier today... and now he was unveiled a waiver program. It's basically an excuse to spy on everyone in the city. Hm."
"What?"
"He raised prices by 15%, but the waivers lower it by 10%. He still makes him a profit."
"But you aren't like that, are you?" Mini asked indignantly.
"No, Mini. Our company provides electricity to only a few houses on this block, but it is affordable. We're honest business people."
"That's good."

((Honest business people! There's no such thing!))
DING DONG!
The doorbell of the Power family rang.

Harrison straitened at the sound of the bell, a dark look taking hold of his face. Mini clutched at her father's hand. "Who is it?"
"I don't know, sweetie." He bit his lip. "I suppose I should answer it."
"Wait." Mini vanished for a second, and reappeared holding a small dagger in its sheath. A Power Dagger. If one is stabbed with it, the blade releases a burst of energy, much like an explosion.
"That's my girl." He led her back up to main level, and answered the door.

Penelope crossed her arms and stared at Max inquisitively. "Really? Well, what else do you do around here? I see you already hate DEPCo. and use your...car throwing distruction towards it." She glanced at the building. Not a scratch on it. "Or is it just an excuse to blow off steam?"

"Why hello there!" came the voice of the man at the door. He was a tall, pale skinned man, dressed almost entirely in black, save for his tie which was aquamarine. "I'm Alan Johnson, a representative of Dynasty Electric Power Company. Vice President of Customer Relations, actually. I'm..." Alan counted on his fingers for a while. "...about 20 positions away from CEO! Not bad, eh? If Nathan, the CIO, COO, all the other C insert-letter-here Os, the General President and President of Customer Relations all die, as well as the Presidents of the other sectors all die, I'll rise to power!" Alan laughed hysterically before clearing his throat, mildly embarrassed. He held out a solid platinum camera and announced in as loud a voice as powerful "How would YOU like to take this camera in exchange for a discount on electricity!"

"N-No, that's alright. We don't need it." Harrison was careful not to mention that they generated their own power.
~~~~~~
"When I'm not bugging DEPCo. I... well, actually that's basically all I do," he admitted. "If I wanted to though, I could go and help my dad run our power company."
The grin faded from Alan's face and an eyebrow raise of suspicion crossed his face. "What do you mean...you don't need it?" A darkened aura began to emanate from our Customer Relations VP as his face donned a frown and then a scowl. "Everyone...Everyone needs DEPCo's power! It's too damn expensive not to accept any fee waivers you get! Hell, if I didn't get the employee discount, I'd have 6 of these cameras in my house right now!" Alan yelled, waving the camera around wildly. For a man who worked in Customer Relations, he sure wasn't being very personable.
Penelope took a step forward towards Max, studying him. "I've read about you in the papers I used to recieve in the office. You're...you're Max Power, the son of the Head of the other power company. It's amazing others haven't decided to use his cheap power yet." Why haven't I bought it yet?
