Well, it's only the beggining. Did you ever get to the part with Hassan? Although, the first part isn't too interesting...but once Will becomes an apprentice, it gets really good.

No, actually. He now grows (GROWS) super-humans (the NEW Race) in tanks. They are "born" live there for 4 months, then exit and are implanted into society.
Some are made with autism so that can learn to cure it, then IMPOSE VARYING LEVELS OF IT on his new race.
His new society is based on Brave New World. Victor met the guy, said he had good ideas, but was boring.
Also Deucalion is a badass.

It's deliberately vague, he uses a coil of wire around his whole body, electrifies it, and it turns it into energy to maintain proper cellular division. Deucalion can apparently warp space time. But it stays true to the original theme of maker and creator, and the created searching for a purpose.
