As the title says, I want to know who your favorite Awesome Land monarch is. The term does not merely designate 'king' or 'queen', but rather anyone who rules over an area in Awesome Land, be it alone or with a group (as in Aurora's case.)
Your choices are:
Emperor Leon Veralice of Awesome Land (1) Emperor Walter/Imperial Prince Taenas of Awesome Land (2) Queen Crider of Special Land High Seraph Raphael of Super Land King Randolph/Queen Francine of Really Cool Land Queen Cynthia of Pyresia Grand Imperatrix Aurora Veralice of Awesome Land (4)
Laurine, Time Keeper, and others who usurped their power for a brief period of time aren't there. Walter is because he was the de facto Emperor for a good period of time.
As always, post WHY you voted for the character.

Leon Veralice is my favorite psychopathic emperor. Even considering that his madness was caused by Hystoger, he still is a bumbling fool with a genius in there somewhere.

Cynthia is the ruler of Pyresia, the nation within the Pyresian Mountain volcano. She was the original guardian of the Fire Orb and will make many more appearances in ALV. I shortened her time in Omega World for the sake of getting to the end.

ok.
We should have an adventure in ALV.
Also, Carter's gonna be a permanent resident of the Fallen Paradise, along with Clyde.

It might have a chance to be explained later, so...
Carter was so consumed by vengeance that it basically replaced his soul a long time ago. He made the deal with Clyde because there was no soul to loose anyway, just a hollow shell of one. Now he has a new target: Laurine.

Nope. All we know is that she was a guardian for Aurora, then she betrayed her.

LMAO I NEVER WROTE A BIO. Alright, here's a brief description or something. You can read a lot of this from Aurora's bio in Amnesia Journeys.
Once upon a time, Laurine was an actress in a dimension known as Draterran, a realm of shapeshifting dragons. She lived there peacefully and had a major crush on the monarch there.
Back in whatever dimension Awesome Land is in, Leon (not too long before his coronation as Emperor) banishes Aurora (about 10 years old at the time) to Draterran for trying to stop him from becoming Emperor.
Aurora goes there and even though she isn't a dragon, they all assume she is because they're all in human form. She is taken in by the High Priest of Draterran, leader of their religious sect. All the while she is trying to learn dimension magic to go back to Awesome Land. Eventually the Dragon Monarch of Draterran learns she wasn't a dragon and tried to execute her with his sword rather than transforming into his normal form.
Just as she is about to be stabbed, Aurora grabs the sword inches away from her chest and sends pulses of dark magic through it, severely crippling the Monarch because he is a Light Dragon. She's still channeling energy through the blade and finishes him off by stabbing him through the chest.
Everyone cheers at her skill, except Laurine, who is so devastated by this that she gives up her career as an actress and studies politics and foreign countries in memory of the monarch, plotting revenge against Aurora. As a (former) actress, all of the evil characters she had ever played in theater began to manifest themselves inside of her due to her intense negative emotions.
Even though she won the battle, Aurora still needs to be killed because they have a strict "No Non-dragon" policy. The High Priest realizes that if he kills her he'll become the new political ruler of the country, so he dashes at her with his sword. Aurora, who was essentially raised by this guy, doesn't fight back. Instead, two black wings enveloped Aurora, blocking the sword and shattering it completely.
High Priest apologizes and tries to give Aurora a hug, secretly holding a poison dagger in his hand. He is about to stab her when all of a sudden her wings open up and reveal her as a large, black dragon. She breathes a flame at the HP, scarring half of his face entirely.
Since she is now a dragon and has defeated both the previous ruler and the HP, she is crowned the Dragon Monarch of Draterran. She rules there for a few years (while Leon is in Awesome Land, having already taken over) and finally finds a way to get back to Awesome Land. (This is around the time that the Final Void was screwing with dimensional physics in Omega World, which might explain how she got there.) She decides that she's going to take over Awesome Land to annoy Leon, and finds a few people to help her.
She finds Laurine, who had since risen to the top of her class in her political studies, and appoints her as the first Guardian and Vice Imperatrix. Although Laurine hates Aurora, she sees the opportunity for revenge and joins her. Aurora gets a few other people, returns to Awesome Land, takes over, and this is where ALIV starts.
Laurine uses her inner actress skills to trick Aurora repeatedly and eventually takes over.
Hope that all makes sense. I had the bio in my mind for a while, but never put it on paper. Essentially, Laurine is just corrupted by her love for the former Dragon Monarch, her hatred of Aurora, and all of the evil characters she had played in drama.

Sure is amazing what proper backstory does for a character. I probably should have written it down a while ago. No, you don't have to kill her. Chances are that if she's roughed up enough and she hears good enough reasoning from our protagonists, some part of her will listen and stop fighting. She won't be reformed, but she'll be distracted enough to leave and allow the land to restore itself. Of course, that's just a possible scenario.
