Austin and I have an idea for an interactive story.
Basically, the government (Robert Gates) is creating experiments on this jungle island. They take people, any age, who won't be missed and alter their DNA with animal genes. For example, a boy could have goat genes and have hooves and a tail, but still look like a human, too. These don't just happen, but I'll explain it later.
SO, the story would start with Austin controling the political part of the story. Here's the summary he gave me.
Say we had a Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, pleased to have not been thrown out of his office once Obama was elected President, but extremely disgruntled that he had planned to remove all of the soldiers in Iraq in 18 months time. Gates, a Republican, already disagrees with Obama on many other issues, and considers this the final straw. At a Cabinet meeting he requests an increased budget for funding a military project, being secretive enough about it to avoid questioning. He uses the money to start funding genetic experiments to create super soldiers to end the war before Obama removes all the troops. Over time he starts to realize that a society of animal/human hybrids would slowly start to lose their perception of morals and ethics, and he could use this to his advantage to remove Obama from office and expand American territory via war and their genetically enhanced abilities.
They don't know this right away, but it gives you the idea. Anyway, it would start with a girl going through a painful procedure of altering her DNA. She doesn't realize this, and none of the experiments know what they are doing there or what is happening to them. After the procedure, they are taken to a hospital where they are told nothing until signs of their genes begin to show. It could be that they grow a tail or some kinf of animal apendage, and they are knocked out and taken to a camp. It's more like a prison, but there are other experiments there of different genes. They each have sessions with doctors every day to monotor their progress, but they are unaware of anything. Some experiments share tidbits of info, but nothing is really known. Only one experiment was said to have escaped, but you meet him later.
Eventually, they find out some experiments are going missing. During the girl's session, she finds out because they try to take her when her genes have reached a certain point, but she escapes, finds her friends, and a long escape occurs. They make it to the jungle where they meet the escaped experiment and find out the government's true intentions. They now have to go back and find a way to stop it from happening.
Problems? You begin growing more and more like your animal and inherit more parts and instincts. The instincts tend to take over sometimes, and they may even change behavior.
Other tidbits: All the experiments are numbered. The escaped one is #123, and I guess my girl would be #148.
