Penelope whizzed past the book store. The subway station wasn't too far away from it. The bookstore named itself after the subway station, after all. She ran across the street, ignoring the honking the cars did in protest. Some had nearly hit her. Some tried to.
She made it to the station and saw that it was completely blocked off by police. There was yellow tape wrapped around all the possible entrances, and policemen were stationed outside of them. Penelope recognized a few of the FBI uniforms and she also noticed an ambulance nearby. She guessed it was for the medical examiner.
She made her way through the small crowd that had formed itself around the scene and managed to make it to a police officer. "Excuse me? Excuse me? Hey, I need to get in there. My friend, Louie Redat, he's a detective on the case here! I need to get in. I'm Penelope Conradine!"
The policeman was about to turn her away, but another man came up and told him to let her in. Penelope thanked him and ran down the subway's stairs to the station. There was a subway car nearby and there were men standing outside of it, talking to eachother. Penelope caught a glimpse of Louie and she stepped up to meet him. "Hey, I'm--"
She saw the carnage that was littered everywhere, thrown to the side like nothing. There were remnants of people that were still recognizable like faces and expressions. Expressions of horror and pain. There were body parts lying here and there, and blood was everywhere. It looked like some one had decided to try and splatter paint the inside of the car with red paint.
She caught a glimpse of a hand gripped the bar near the cealing. It was the bar used to steady passengers who were standing. It dangled there, cut off at the elbow, with part of the bone hanging out. It was splintered, and there were veins and flesh dangling out of it. She felt her stomach lurch, and she couldn't take it anymore. She ran out of the car, kneeled over, and vomited.

Louie saw Penelope hunched over.
"Maybe its best if you don't go in there." He motioned an agent over. "Next time."

Penelope clutched her stomach and took deep breaths. She staggered and wiped her hand across her mouth, feeling something wet stick to the back. She flicked her wrist and heard a splat as it fell from her hand to the ground. Sweat beaded her brow and dripped down her nose. Her hair hung in front of her face and stuck to her forehead.
She managed to glance beside her when Louie saw her. She nodded and began to walk over to a far hallway. She would wait until he was done to hear the news about the murders. She didn't want to know about it right away. He could easily find her afterwards.
She hurriedly rounded the corner, her eyes searching. Images of the carnage were still fresh in her mind, especially that arm. That arm dangling from the rail, still holding on as if they had been gripping it tightly before they died. They probably didn't even see it coming, and now they were just a pile of flesh.
Penelope found what she was looking for. She ran to the trash can and bent over it. She would definitely not go back into that car.

Louie pulled out a camera and began taking pictures, noting the body that had done the deed. Procuring his kit, he grabbed a cotton swab and swabbed a bit of foam at his mouth. Like he had been infected with rabies. He turned looking at a particular spot near the back. A powdery hand print lay unnoticed on the wall. He snapped a picture took the prints and the scooped some of the powder up.
"You've slipped up this time. Now I'm gonna get you."

Penelope took deep breaths, walking slowly back from around the corner. Her head was spinning, and her stomach felt uncomfortably jumpy. She swallowed hard and tried to keep the nausia down. She had surprised herself when she had ran off and vomited. She was used to reading gorey scenes in her novels, and she watched plenty of detective shows, but this time she couldn't hold it down. The fact that these were real people, not actors or fictional characters, scared her. They couldn't get up and go on with their lives. It had been ended for them. Their families, friends, neighbors, coworkers....they would all have to deal with the aftermath. She wanted to help them find their answers.
She staggered over to the outside of the car, glancing at the door. The windows had been covered up, thank god, so she couldn't see the blood and flesh splattered on them. She leaned to the side and tried to look through the door. "Louie?"
She caught a glimpse of the blood on the floor, and she lurched. She placed a hand over her mouth, swallowed, and took a deep breath. "Any news?"

"I've got prints." As he walked out. "I've also got a powder for the lab and saliva to find out how he's killing them." He grabbed Penelope's arm and pulled her away from the scene. "Detective Aaron here's something you missed." He said handing him the bags.
"Thanks...How is it that a teenager is getting things missed by a team of trained forensic scientists?"

Penelope managed a smile through her sickness on their way out. "Because he's not a teenager. He's a robot."

"Or an alien." Louie joked. "With X-ray vision."

The two exited from the station, now that Louie's work was done. Penelope immediately took deep breaths of the fresh air outside of the station. Her stomach began to ease, and she could feel her balance regaining. She turned to Louie. "Sorry about that....that usually doesn't happen with me." She fiddled with the bandages on her hand. "Any leads yet?"

"Not until the results get back but....I've narrowed the search down....to an entirety of anyone who works with plants, or chemicals. So that leaves....To many people." Louie sighed still so much farther along though.

Penelope managed a smile. "Well, you can't really do anything about it right now. There's no way that you could interogate every single person who works with plants. Just take a break. You need it."

"Maybe I should go to the gym. I'm getting a little pudgy."

Penelope, with the straightest face ever, leaned over and poked his stomach. "You're squishy."
She looked back up at him, but the corners of her mouth twitched a bit giving away her joke.

"Blame those cookies you made." He laughed and poked her side.

Penelope scowled and crossed her arms. "Well, maybe if you didn't always eat all of them you'd be fine. I make those for me you know."

Louie pulled out the bag of cookies he had and gave them to Penelope.
"Hey, I'm paying you back....for once." He laughed and looked at his watch. "What time do you have to be at work?"

Penelope pulled her cellphone out of her pocket and glanced at the time. "Um...pretty soon actually." Penelope took the cookies and unzipped the bag. She picked one out and was about to eat them when she paused. She suddenly held the cookie up to examine it. "You didn't bake these yourself, did you?"
