evageeks.org will help out a lot. Also, the entire series starts to make sense around episode 10 and then loses itself again.
All in all, finish the series. Watch EoE on google video, then watch rebuild.

So...agh...
Why was Kaworu human-looking, even though he was an Angel?
Why were the nine Eva-series mechs needed for Third Impact?
What the FUCK is the Lance of Longinus supposed to be?

#1 He is an angel born into human form who's instincts tell him to reunite with Adam. Seeing as how all angels used brute force to try to unite with Adam, Kaworu's tactic is stealth. He endears himself to the humans around him and then manages to infiltrate NERV's headquarters astonishingly well. He is also the angelic equivalent of Rei. He is meant to merge with Adam as Rei is meant to merge with Lilith. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaworu_Nagisa#2 They needed some sort of artificial angels to form the Tree of Life. Aside from that, they really weren't needed. #3 Some sort of super weapon that comes with each Seed of Life. Lilith lost her's during first impact. The one that is used in the series actually belongs to Adam. BOOM BABY

Yeah, I'm been reading Wikipedia. Quite a bit of this information ISN'T IN THE SERIES OR THE MOVIE!

Where are the Angels coming from?
I know that all Angels are born from Adam, but WHERE are they BEFORE attacking Tokyo-3? Is that ever explained?

Unleashed from the white moon during Second Impact, the Angels were scattered about the Earth, (at least one ended up in orbit), and began a 15 year incubation period.
Also, some say that the life-sterile dead area around Antarctica is actually a sea of angel LCL and they incubated there, but this hasn't been confirmed.
