Tyler. I'm planning on restarting Machina....at some point.... but as I've said before, I think I'll do some things differently.
My main point being...should the 3 pilots be the focus of the story. And should these giant mechs even BE in the story? I mean, there will still be a mech footnote or plotpoint....but I'm not feelin' the whole focus of 'God-Machines' anymore. It could still be the point........but not what it was before.

I'm not sure what to say, since it isn't my story.
the God-Machines should maybe not be introduced until later on, but that raises the problem of conjuring up a new plot point. I suppose that would involve more of the world and it's history, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
It all depends on what you want this to be. Should it be an AJ-type, where everyone follows along a fixed plot, making room fro subplots and character development? (Perhaps MAgecraft is a better example, as Amnesia Journeys got severely derailed halfway through...by you.)
Should it be a an open-world, where there's a setting and we just "go", making the plot as it comes. Remnants is this to an extent.
Or is a mission-based story like the Department?
The type of story it is might detemine how early (or even if) the God-Machiens are introduced, and how much they contribute to the plot.

It worked well (VERY well) with Magecraft, where as most open-world stories tended (in the past) to die out. 2. I actually DO have another plot thing I could use to postpone the whole 'god-machine' thing. 3. I made Amnesia Journeys into an epic and you know it

I never denied the epicness of Amnesia Journeys.
So so that.

I was thinking of making mages into a more major plot point. Mages are born, not made, and usually either have three choices:
1. Hide their talents to live a normal life
2. Join the military and work as a soldier, navy or mech-division pilot
3. work in the Order of Magi as a mage who watches over the people in more domestic affairs.
Psychikers are still the same, and the technicalities of magic and the aether remain the same. SO while Mages are valued, psychikers are feared and hated.
A different point is that all machinery is run on magic, so that means all airships and mechs have to be run by mages. The story is of three (or however many) characters who discover their talents and are forced to defend their nations in war.
They can start out in different nations and, heck, even fight each other, but eventually i think hte plot will turn focus so that they much unite and uncover the god-machines to stop an evil mage who is running rampant.
more or less......

All of that^ now needs to be in the discussion thread/ topics.
