Lila's convertable rolled to a stop just outside of the former research center. She stepped out lightly and grabbed her notebook and camera before she started to head to its ruins. "Woah...what happened here? It's totally destroyed! There's got to be something here to tell me what happened."

Cyril nodded his gently. "I know virtually nothing about the Catalyst. She's young, she has black hair, and she's a super. Aside from that, she could be anyone." Cyril motioned towards the center of town, the front of Town Hall to be exact. "That is the site upon which the Tree will germinate. It will grow as I grow, but if we don't find the Catalyst with a month, it will wither and die. I will begin my search. You would be best off trying to find as many supers that fit the description of the Catalyst. Should you find anyone, shout my name and I will find you. Please tell me that was all just a horrible dream... Carlos shook his head wildly as if trying to convince himself that he wasn't actually awake. "No, I guess it wasn't..." he admitted, jumping down from the car and onto the ground, which had sufficiently cooled at that point. He was about to exit the premises when he noticed Lila going toward the VMRI's direction.
With the agility of CHUCK NORRIS, Carlos jumped straight in front of Lila and held his lance out horizontally in front of him, blocking her path. "Just what do you think you're doing?" he asked. "As you can tell, this is a very dangerous area to be in."

Lila stuck her lower lip out in frustration. Great. Just what I need. MORE people getting in my way. "I'm a journalist from The VS Times. I'm here to get some information on..." she gestured to the mess of a reasearch center, "that."

"Well, you'll have to wait until this place is ready for visitors." Carlos said sternly. "As you may be able to tell, a rather destructive conflict occurred in this very area, and it would be unwise to enter. Very unwise." Carlos pointed at the ground which, despite its cool temperature now, had quite obviously been covered in lava just moments before.

Lila smirked. "Hmph. I can take care of myself. Of course if I were to get into trouble, I'd sure hope there'd be someone around to save me." Lila started fanning herself with her notebook.
Whatever went on here, it couldn't hurt to have someone around.

"Hmph...You would be a fool to enter this area despite my warning." Carlos shook his head. "Is getting this story that important to you?" he asked. "Why not just leave it to that Ace Reporter guy? He does this sort of thing on a regular basis."

Lila froze. For an instant, her expression made her look like she could kill someone, but she hid it. "He's busy," she said quickly. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some investigating to do." She started to push herself past Carlos.

"Stop." Carlos commanded. His lance quickly shifted back into its cape form, which he then lashed out toward Lila, grabbing her by the wrist. "If you insist on acting so recklessly, then I'll have to accompany you. The major threat seems to be gone for now, but I have no doubt that it is still dangerous around here..."

"Is that the voice of my sweet Lila Winola?" came sultry voice of none other than Waterwalker. A breeze picked up and blew back his aqua blue cape in dramatic fashion. He flashed a brilliant, toothy smile; behind him screamed his chorus of fans, male and female alike.

Yes, because you'll be a lot of help. Carlos rolled his eyes from under his helmet. "It is clear that I will not be able to stop you." he sighed. "Do as you will, but don't get killed. I have a press conference to return to, so I appreciate your escorting Ms. Reckless around the premises, Waterwalker. Adios." With no more to say, Carlos saluted the two of them and ran as fast as possible back to Central Square, hoping to avoid the wrath of Cassandra when he returned.
