Lila gave a fake smile. "Right. Just dont wander off where you don't belong." She took up her camera and began taking pictures of the scene. Amazing...this place was totally destroyed. What could have happened to it? I don't think medical equipment usually explodes. Maybe a super?
She scribbled down a few notes into her notebook.

City Hall Skies November 6, 2010 12:15 PM "Oh, dear..." Umbra snickered, although it was a semi-nervous and very creepy laugh that came from his masked mouth. "What to do, what to do? If I don't show up for work today, people will assume I skipped town and automatically claim that I'm the killer." he sighed. 'And if you do show up, there will undoubtedly be someone there waiting to question you.'"Right, right...They will show up to question Max...So Umbra will have to teach them a lesson before they get the chance! Ahahahahaha!" Umbra, laughing maniacally, flew toward the Vale Medical Research Institute to dispatch any potential threats to Max's good name. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Central Square November 6, 2010 12:30 PM The Silver Matador had finally made it back to his press conference, where Cassandra was waiting for him with open arms. Open arms with clenched fists ready to beat the hell out of him. "Press conference already over?" Carlos chuckled, noticing that none of the usual adoring fans were there. "Fortunately for you, I postponed it until school was out to reach out to the younger crowd." Cassandra growled, crossing her arms in rage. "Really? That's great. Well, I'd better get back home to- "JUST WHERE IN THE WORLD WERE YOU? DO YOU KNOW HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO DEAL WITH AN ANGRY, AUTOGRAPH HUNGRY MOB?" Cassandra yelled, her voice traveling for at least 20 miles. "Had to deal with a crisis near the research institute and..." Carlos stopped abruptly as memories of the world's destruction flashed through his head. "C-Cassandra, are your eyes alright?" he asked, seemingly out of nowhere. "W-What? What are you talking about?" "N-nothing. Standard hero stuff. You'll have to forgive my departure." "Hmph. Well, it's a good thing the press conference wasn't at 10:30. Everything works out in the end, I suppose." she sighed. "Yea...In the end..." Carlos muttered, staring off into space. "Are you alright, C? You seem a bit...off." Cassandra's expression of annoyance shifted to concern as she uncrossed her arm. "Huh? Oh, yea, yea...I just...have to get home." "Right...Let's go, then." Cassandra and Carlos walked back toward Williams' Mansion, the latter clearly bothered by something, the former desperate to figure out what it was.

Vale High School Cafeteria November 6, 2010 12:32 PM
It was lunch time at Vale High School, and Aaron was hungry. Luckily, he had long since given up on the impossibly long lines that resulted in nothing more than mediocre freeze-packed food. Instead, Aaron packed his own lunch. A result of his planning was that he was essentially given first pick of the various tables, along with the handful of other kids that chose not to ingest the terrible public school food.
He picked a table near the back wall and waited for Natalie.
'That Nathan...'
What's wrong with him?
'Oh, I don't know. Maybe the fact that he can read your mind?'
No he can't. Only when I try to read his can he follow the impulses back to me.
'And that doesn't worry you?'
No, of course not.
'Well, it worries me.'
Well, I don't care what you think, Shade.
'Is that so? Tell me, then: why do you borrow my name when you go out at night, hm?'
Because Natalie needs me to protect her.
'Wrong. I protect her. That's why you took my name.'
I don't want to have this now.
'You don't have a choice We are - '
GO AWAY
He was alone in his head once more.

Natalie showed up at their table with a plastic tray with an assortment of fruits, a sandwhich, and cheese. She sat down beside Aaron. "Is something bothering you? You look spaced out."

"Hello there." Nathan said cheerfully, sitting down at Natalie and Aaron's table with his food. "Figured I might as well sit here, with the super club."

Natalie blushed and nibbled on her sandwich, trying not to make eye contact with Nathan. He made her feel nervous. "Um...hi."

Aaron's eye focused on Natalie; he blinked. "No, I'm fine. I just...it's nothing." then he registered what Nathan had said. "Super club...oh don't act embarrassed Natalie. You're the one who decided to go out at...er..." he stopped before he said something he might regret.

Natalie glanced up at Aaron as she heard his unfinished statement, but she remained silent for a moment. "I guess you could call us that, but three members is a small club."

"Club is so formal," Aaron muttered through his sandwich. "We're just a group. Clubs have meetings and a name."

"Just an expression guys." Nathan sighed, and began digging into his food. "Sho fwell me," he said between mouthfuls, "Are you guys registered?"

Natalie shook her head. If people knew she was Toast Girl, would they even believe her? There was a big difference between personalities. Toast Girl was confident, loud, wild, always getting into trouble. Toast Girl was not Natalie. She was a totally different person. "No, I'd rather stay quiet about it."

"I hear that." Nathan nodded again. "My situation is....tricky. I guess technically you could say I'm a recognized super." He shrugged. "Not that I ever go public."

"No." Aaron dropped the corner of his sandwich onto the plastic bag it had come in. "I don't want anyone knowing what I am. I barely even want it. If it weren't for this one" he jabbed a thumb at Natalie "I probably wouldn't even use the little bits I do."

"Be glad that I'm around for that. They're important." Natalie looked out of the corner of her eye at Aaron. She felt his powers were special, and she wouldn't want him to lose something like that. Even if he didn't want them she would never let him ignore them.

Aaron carefully avoided glaring at her. If they're so important, how come I never had a discussion with myself before they showed up?

Meanwhile, deep in the aisles of a Payless store.
"Pumps and Platforms for giggling height Rain boots and moccassins, pure delight Splash around in puddles of clogs Slip on slippers, keep away from the dog Shoes for sale and shoes for keeps The meaning of my rhyme so deep Gets my shoelaces twisted and twirled As I prepare for the end of the world! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"
"Sir....Sir!" The worker called out to her client.
"HAHA- Oh, yes?"
"Would you like to make a purchase on those shoes?"
"Oh, no, thank you." The man dressed in awkwardly tight spandex went back to collecting his shoes. In his arms were varieties of heels, dress shoes, and boots, all of the left variety. He evern wore a large boot on top of his head. If he hadn't been carryin the huge pile, the letters LSB would have been seen written on the front of his outfit.
"Let's see....what size am I? An 8, 7? Or maybe I'm a 6 1/2? Oh! I know! I'll take them all! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Sir!" The worker shouted from the checkout.
The man jumped and looked at the woman.
"Please, keep it down. You're distracting the customers!"
"Oh, sorry......Muahahahahahahaha!"

The Waterwalker kicked at a piece of wreckage. He viewed the debris with a certain amount of noninterest. Whoever or whatever did this was obviously way more powerful than he was. He would hate to meet such a force alone.
"Have you got what you were looking for, my sweet?"

Lila rolled her eyes. "Give it a rest, will you? Although..." She looked around the debris. "I wonder. You don't think whatever did this is still around, do you?"
Maybe I should do this one as Incognito instead of Lila?

I hope not.
"Around how?" The Waterwalker asked. "I mean around as in "this area" - probably not. But I wouldn't be surprised if its still around the city. But it shouldn't be a problem for me, so don't you worry."

"I'm not worried about you, I'm worried about me." Lila huffed. "But it looks like it's left, whatever it is. I've got my pictures, so I suppose I might be finished here, and-oh my God!" Lila stumbled across the remains of the dead policemen imbeded in the molten ground.
Her first instinct was to document it, but it just didn't seem right. "This isn't natural. Someone did this. It was a super. It had to be."
