Cale coughed awkwardly. "Well..." he said, "I suppose there's not much we can do until he gets back. Let me know when we're ready to go, I'll be... polishing my swords."
With that, he slowly walked into the remains of a nearby building.

Goldbez TRIED A SOMERSAULT and appeared back in the group, now sparkling and shining. "LET'S GET THIS DONKEY SHOW ON THE ROAD!" Goldbez frontflipped after the two ninjas. Actually, he didn't flip himself - he flipped the world around him. He stood still while the world spun. Because he's cool like that,

Cale, too, rejoined the group. He unsheathed his katanas, which now sparked with a radiance comparable to that of Goldbez's armor. He nodded.
"Right, then. And so we go." He began walking in the general direction the others had gone in.

As if on cue, William Cauldwell, the young leader of the militant organization the Committee of Magicians Against Science (COMAS, for short) who hasn't been seen since Awesome Land IV teleported in front of the protagonists. He looked much different than his last appearance (not that anyone remembers him). His hair was frazzled but his robes exceptionally fancy. His staff extremely shiny and the aura around him extremely dark. All in all he had a strange manic, polished look, befitting of the leader of one of the most evil and dangerous of the Awesome Land organizations.
"Halt! It has come to my attention that you all are looking for the fabled Scrolls of Science. What business have you with them?" William held his enormous staff threateningly toward them, prepared to banish them all to the Veral dimension, which had since been consumed by the Null-Void.

Stella belly flopped off of her UFO and landed on William's shoulders and started rooting through hsi hair like a chimpanzee. "We're off to find the Sores of Sentience because pretty Lady said she'd kill us or something if we didn't."

"Off of me, wench!" From out of nowhere, two COMAS members appeared and removed Stella from William's shoulders, setting her on the ground. "What on earth are you talking about? I know of every magical artifact created since the birth of the planet! There are no 'Sores of Sentience' in my knowledge banks."

Blanche sighed. "She means the Scrolls of Science. Look, she's an idiot. The Empress said she's kill us all if we didn't give them to her, so we're looking for them."

"Oh, you mean something like this?" William reached into his super thick robe pockets and withdrew A SHINY GOLDEN ROLLED UP PIECE OF PAPER THAT BURNED WITH THE WHITE HOT INTENSITY OF A THOUSAND SUNS AND BLINDED ALL THOSE IN ITS PRESENCE. Actually, it just looked like a normal piece of paper, but whatever. USE YOUR IMAGINATION.

"GIMMIE!" Both Goldbez and Stella lunged for the Scroll.

"Don't think so." William lifted his staff, the large ring atop it expanding until it was wide enough for three people (or one heavily armored person and another) to fit through. The space inside the ring started to glow black (black can totally glow), and as soon as Stella and Goldbez lunged toward William, they passed through the glowing ring and ended up right above Blanche. "I'm afraid I can't just give this scroll away."

Somewhere in Awesome Lanf or maybe somewhere else (I don't know; I'm not a doctor) a portal opened up. Not one that ran the risk of running into the PFG, but one born of chaotic energies. The swirling green and black and gold vortex lingered for a moment before vanishing to nothing. Karzem, Agent of Chaos stretched in limbs and smiled.
"My, it feels good to be back in a physical form again. Strangely liberating. You'd think that existing as a mass of energy in a torrent of swirling energies would be more freeing. And who the devil am I talking to? Oh well, I'm back and the writer has more experience now, so maybe my character will be a bit more developed and consistent."
Entropy, his trumpet appeared in his hand. He played a few notes. A mountain nearby crumbled, a testament to his power.
"Now to begin my ridiculous plan that might not make any sense." The vortex swallowed him again and dumped him in the Crystallus. "My word, this place could use a bit of interior design."
The Crystallus was an interdimensional prison composed entirely of crystal. It was maintained by the Guardian. Since the previous Time Keeper broke Aev'Uldron Theska and Torran out of it months ago, the place had been barren except for the Guardian himself, who now flew up before Karzem.
"Trespasser! You will - "
But before he could complete his badass boast, Karzem laid an open palm on the Guardian's armor and channeled Chaos energy into it. After a minute or so, he relented and pulled his smoking hand away. the Guardian was now colored green and gold and black - the colors of Chaos.
"Whom do you serve?" Karzem asked.
"I serve the elemental force of Chaos," his metallic voice answered.
"I am the physical avatar of Chaos in this world."
"Then I serve you."
Karzem had used Chaos to corrupt the mind of the Guardian. It was now the Guardian of Chaos, but Karzem figured he would just say Guardian because it was shorter.
"Now. About that decoration." He knelt and place both hands on the crystalline floor - and pumped more energy into the very structure of the prison. Instantly the gleaming walls flooded with the colors of chaos. Now that the place was under his control, he began to warp the Crystallus to his will, shaping it into a large, floating castle above an abyss of swirling energy - the Realm of Chaos, the diametric opposite of the Null-Void.
"I suppose this is no longer the Crystallus, now is it?" he asked the Guardian of Chaos.
"No, sir."
"Hm. The Vortex Castle. Much classier than Castle of Chaos, don't you think?"
"Yes, sir."
"Very well. This floating castle of crystallized chaos shall be the Vortex Castle. And you shall be the Vortex Guardian." He snapped his fingers and countless Banshees - screaming, mad spirits - detached themselves from the Torrent below. "Come, my children! This Castle is your new home!"
Karzem cleared his throat. "Very good. Hold down the fort; I've got to see a man about a soul."
The portal swallowed him again and dumped him in the Fallen Paradise. Right in front of Clyde. "Hi, there, Clyde. Haven't seen you....ever? Anyway. You've got a damned soul here by the name of Carter. I'm borrowing him."

Clyde put down the newspaper he was reading and stood up to his full 20 foot or so height to stare at the newcomer. "No." he said, before sitting back down to read.

Having watched the interaction between his intrepid new adventuring pals and this so-called William, he finally made a decision as to his next move.
"How about I just suck you dry and take the scroll?" He offered, rather politely to William as he shadow-stepped to the man in a very vampire-ninja way.

Zais, having been at this point considering taking a nap alongside the members of the rather lazy Dynasty City enforcers, stiffened. While Zais had never taken his duties as the Agent/Immortal/Grand Puba of Darkness, as evident by his rampant misuse of his powers, he was still in tune with it. All Immortals were empathetic to the the dimensions they governed as a whole, and as such tended to sense when something happened in another realm.
Like right now.
"Something has happened to the Chrysalis." He spoke aloud, frowning. It was still there but...different somehow. Almost like...."Awwww crap." He recognized that power.
"Something the matter?" Myrxxan asked, seeing his new...... acquaintance look troubled. He'd already learned, a troubled Zais was serious business.
"Hmmm, I'll be back shortly." Zais said, creating a portal of darkness and disappearing. He appeared at the entrance to Fallen Paradise. "Yeah..this is the place." He didn't go into the real, but instead waited. He'd let those two finish their business.
In the meantime, he considered a growing idea. One that was looking more and more promising.

Karzem shrugged. Clyde wasn't going to budge, and he really didn't care about Carter's soul all the much. It was good to have multiple plans, in case any of them didn't go as...planned. He made a note to become more proficient in language.
"Eh. Be seeing you, Clyde." He disappeared in a whirl of chaos energy.

The Crossmen continued to wander about aimlessly. "No scroll here," Jace commented lazily. Sherri sighed and continued walking.

"No one threatens William!" Several COMAS guards grabbed Azzi and pulled him away until they felt he was a safe distance from their leader.
"I would be happy to surrender the scroll, " William began, "but you all must give me something first. I want..." In truth, William actually had no idea what he wanted, but as an advocate of all things anti-science, he couldn't just go handing out science powers for free. Stamping his staff on the ground, he activated its dimension powers and opened a vortex right above his head. From the vortex, an encyclopedia of all of Awesome Land's (and the surrounding countries') magical artifacts landed neatly in his hands. He flipped to a random page and announced "...the True Sword! Yes, I want the True Sword. Go fetch me the True Sword from Really Cool Land and I'll gladly hand over the Scroll of Science."

Stella considered this a moment. Well, half a moment. The other half was spent trying to blink without closing her eyes. When that...succeeded...she thrust forth her neon katana, almost poking William in the eyes. "I has a sword, Mr. Bad Wizard. Truly, it's a sword. :3"
GOLDBEZ DID A LITTLE DANCE.

Azzi stepped up beside Stella, clearing his throat and...wiping away a bit of blood on his chin. "Just thought you should know...I kinda bit your guards. Have fun with that." He said.

Zais felt Karzem leaving Fallen Paradise. So he intercepted. Sending out a blast of his dark..portal powers or whatever, he blocked Karzem's teleportation, instead sending him to stand right in front of Zais.
"Howdy, Karzem. It's been a little while." Zais grinned.

"Ah, Zais," Karzem responded, not bothering to hide his...displeasure. "Haven't seen you since...Random World...2? I don't remember. It's been a while. What do you want? Also, how did you redirect my chaos...portal...thing?"
Man, he really needed some linguistics lessons or something.
