The prince, who was busy wandering about the museum and scoffing at all the "fine art" and "jewelry" that were in the collections.
"Honestly, my infancy cod piece had higher quality jewels than these exhibits. Oh well, ignorance is bliss I suppose, for commoners."
The prince stopped in his tracks at the sound of blaring sirens, but mostly because of the smell of freshly baked inter-dimensional bread...the most highly prized bread in all the dimension, unless it was inter-dimensional bread from your own dimension, then that just makes it boring ole regular commoner bread. Portals always seem to bake them just right, without burning the crust. They always seem to come out tasting a bit like purple as well.
The prince took a deep breathe and smiled, possibly for the first time since he had been thrown into Southryos, "Mmmm. Inter-dimensional bread. Smells like I am back at home. I must find the source of such a royal meal, even if it IS in the hands of such common filth. Hopefully the hobos in this town do not reach it before myself, their nomadic stomachs do not possess the class to digest such a meal."
He used his royal nose to pursue the dimension hopping aroma and eventually came across a gallivanting spirit demon, the Bread Wizard...attacking the police...for..some reason, Magnus was stealing things, and now the annoying child that dared to have a mecha before the prince was stepping out of some sort of portal.
"What is it with these fellows and portals? I get thrown through one and now I can't seem to get rid of the damn things. Well atleast I can get some food out of this."
So the prince sauntered through the battle, walking past the giant spirit demon, the police, and all the chaos, somehow, one would think a giant shining cod piece would attrack atleast SOME attention. He stood right in front of the Bread Wizards bread gate and began snatching pieces as they came out of the portal and consuming them. And watched the battle.

Gate of Breadylon.
Necropalypse.
Yep. They were now the worst protagonists ever. Of all time. Hey, at least they were being the heroes and saving the world, right? Right? Jeff was forced to admit that, to date, they had leveled a city block via a giant mecha fight, broke into, robbed, and destroyed a museum, and now were squaring off against the local police force.
Maybe he should consult Leon more often.
He made a not to do that as he swung his sword round on one such officer, sending him flying through the air and into more, taking down the lot like bowling balls.
"Guys! This is..." but it didn't seem as though anyone was paying attention. Perish appeared to be having too much fun. Magnus had somehow convinced the Bread Wizard to attack those he claimed to save. Chase was just struggling to survive.
So he barrier hopped his way up above the battle. Briefly, he considered putting a stop to the battle below. He could. Probably. A big barrier was all it would take, but... "What would Leon do?"
-
"Xeltyr," he offered, glancing back at the explosions and spirits and bread that were flying around in a distant part of the city. And that was why the "heroes" had failed in his time. "And you are?"

"Leon Veralice, " Leon replied, mentally drowning out the sounds of anguish and fear that seemed to be emanating from the same direction the museum was in. "Well, with formalities out of the way, let's go find this Keystone, shall we?" 'Perhaps if we get to the Keystone quickly enough, we can stop Jeff and company before they take out the rest of the city...' he mused. 'Then again, I can't just give them the Keystone. Heaven forbid a band of antiprotagonists gets their hands on such an artifact. If this stone is capable of powering an entire city of buildings and appliances, I shudder to think about what it could do in the wrong hands. Not that the staff of the Urban Power Company are the right hands...
After a brief inner monologue, Leon decided to ask "So, Xeltyr, what do you intend to do with the Keystone once we get it? And, more importantly, how do you plan on getting it?" The last question was fairly unimportant; if he wanted to, Leon could probably warp inside, grab the Keystone and warp back out before anyone inside noticed anything. But, he wanted to ascertain that Xeltyr had more of a plan than Jeff did. Then Leon could feel a bit more comfortable in helping out.

Somehow, somewhere along the lines, Perish had disappeared in the dust and later turned up in one of the latest to arrive police cars reading a magazine with much confusion.
"These guys have horrible tastes," Perish said disapprovingly as she turned the magazine on its side and about, trying to view it from different directions as though hoping it might look better or at least make sense.
The car was pretty much ignored by the police as they were too busy shooting at the half-destroyed museum and almost anything else that moved, Perish sort of admired their tenacity -she did just throw an apocalyptic spell at them just moments ago, and they were still coming. Then again maybe they were just unbelievably dimwitted, as she wasn't sure how sane you could be if you were willing to dive into a mess this bad, and not simply because you were trying to get away from a mess that was worse.
Probably the most impressive thing is that no one seemed to notice all the shed blood in the street was mysteriously flowing off towards the police car at the back where Perish camping out, but with everything else going on, some blood defying physics was probably not very high on their list of problems to solve.

"yeah okay, I'm leaving." Magnus declared. That said, he turned and began to make his way through the museum towards the maintenance entrance.
"Boss..." Leske said disapprovingly. Ash and Desmond were giving him looks. Magnus sighed.
"Fine."
He walked back through to the front of the museum, outside to the front (dodging stray gunfire and ignoring the screams) and grabbed the unconscious form of the Bread Wizard by his collar. He then proceeded to drag the wizard back through the museum and continue on his way.
"Jeff! I'm going this way. Follow if you want." Magnus yelled out and set off down the street. He was pretty sure Leon went off somewhere in that direction.

Xeltyr considered Leon's questions. "Well," he began. "There's a number of ways I could get inside - the least exciting of which involves flying. However, I am on a shortened timescale, so I suppose that will have to do." He levitated, beckoning Leon to follow him as he ascended to the top floor of the Urban Power Company Tower.
"As for what I intend to do, well...unfortunately, I am not supposed to even be here." He shrugged. "So I'm going to have to hand it over to the ones who are." He glanced over toward the explosions and gunshots. "Although I am loathe to do so."
-
Jeff quickly abandoned the scene at the museum, barrier-hopping his way over to where Magnus and the Mooketeers were, noting the unconscious form of the Bread Wizard.
"We really need to work on this whole heroing busniess," he muttered to the mage. "I mean...seriously. HAve you seen Leon?"

After Perish had figured out how to operate the vehicle with some advice from a somewhat gullible injured police officer, she'd made a point to drive around looking for her 'comrades'. While she located Magnus and Jeff, she decided to speed up and aim the car at Magnus, swerving a bit to make it look like an accident, as she was just a hopeless medieval necromancer after all! The horseless wagons wouldn't obey her!
Maybe she'd knock some blood out of him and really get to find out what made him tick, as surely mage blood would be more hopped up than a score of dying policemen. More blood never hurt -except sometimes whoever it came from, but for Perish more blood meant more power, and if she got enough then maybe she could start using the truly awesome rituals that usually involved scores of zealous cultists and chanting and other nonsense. A floating Necropolis sure sounded nice...

"I see," Leon sighed, shaking his head at the idea of handing over the magical artifact to his former companions. Looking at Xeltyr, a storm of questions brewed in his mind. Why was Xeltyr here? Why was he not supposed to be here? Why is he doing the protagonists' work for them? Well, the answer to that one was obvious - they clearly weren't capable of handling the situation themselves. The most pressing of the questions escaped Leon's mouth first. "Tell me, Xeltyr...What do they intend to use the keystone for?" Despite having traveled with them for at least a dozen pages, Leon was still fuzzy on the motives for their journey.
Finally, Leon noticed that Xeltyr was still floating upward. Not wanting to get left behind, but not having the ability to levitate himself, Leon sliced open a small portal below his feet, a portal to a place aptly named the "Windy Dimension". A gust of wind emerged from the portal and propelled him upward toward Xeltyr.
