They made a second movie of this, too. The sick little mouse grows up and finds a girlfriend and almost kills his brother.......and I think there's singing.

dammit MGM! The Secret of NIMH 2: Timmy to the Rescue is a 1998 direct-to-video animated film and sequel to The Secret of NIMH produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Animation. In the film, Timothy Brisby, the youngest son of Jonathan and Mrs. Brisby, goes to Thorn Valley wanting to become a hero like his father. Martin becomes corrupted and evil (although not by choice), and Timothy must confront him in order to save the Rats. There he learns from a young girl mouse that the mice who were presumed to have been killed during the escape from NIMH are still alive, so he and the rats mount a rescue operation.
The film, although a sequel, was created without Don Bluth's support or input, as MGM owns all rights to the original film. It is also unrelated to Racso and the Rats of NIMH, the sequel to the book on which the original film was based. Ironically, Don Bluth has stated on his website once that if they ever theoretically did a sequel themselves, he would have been interested in making Timothy a villain and Martin the main character. Most of the time this film is ignored by fans of the first film, who consider it to be a disgrace to the original.
