YOU READ THE SPOILER YOU FOOL!
It's not so much excommunicate as a giant argument that asploads. Hmm...I'll copy paste the dialogue. Keep in mind it's a rough draft.
Chapter 1 (Post-Prologue)
“My sister’s been missing for a year now…Where could she have gone?” are Johnny’s thoughts as he wakes up from his bed in the Really Cool Palace to go downstairs to the throne room to meet his parents.
King Randolph: Hmm? Oh, Johnny, my boy! What do you need, son?
Johnny: …
King: What’s wrong, Johnny?
Queen Francine: Are you alright, dear?
Johnny: Sarah’s been missing for a year already! When are you going to try to find her?!
King: Johnny, you know very well that we’ve sent hundreds of search parties to locate Sarah! We’re doing everything in our power to-
Johnny: I don’t want to hear your excuses, King! You run the damn country! Can’t you get your ass off the throne and actually try to find Sarah?
Queen: Johnny! You have no right to talk to your father that way! Calm down!
Johnny: You’re not much better, Mom! You sit on the throne just as much as he does and haven’t done a single thing in your power to help Sarah! Some queen you are!
Queen: (Begins to cry…)
King: Johnny! You know that we’ve done as much as we can! Even though Sarah is missing, we can’t devote everything to finding her! This is still a kingdom, and there is still the threat of an attack at any moment! We have to look after the people, too!
Johnny: So the commoners mean more to you than your own daughter?
King: No…That’s not what I’m saying at all…
Johnny: I see. I’ll just find her myself!
King: Johnny, please don’t be hasty! Haven’t you learned anything from your studies? The rash never accomplish anything. It is those who plan who-
Johnny: You’ve had a year to plan, Dad, and I haven’t seen any results. It’s my turn now.
Johnny runs off outside the palace in a random direction.
Queen: Johnny, wait!
King: Gah! Damn that boy! Too rash for his own good. I don’t want him back!
Queen: Randolph, what are you saying?
The king, in a fierce rage, gets up from his throne and walks toward the entrance to the palace. He seals it off before summoning his guards.
King: Guards!
Guards: Yes, sire?
King: It’s approaching nightfall and Prince Johnny has abandoned us. He’ll no doubt try to return and grab some of his objects. I want you to keep a look out for him! Don’t let him inside under any circumstances! Use force if you have to! If he wants to leave so badly, let him! He just won’t be coming back!
Guards: Yes, sir!
The king storms off to the master bedroom and the guards go to their positions. The queen stays for a moment to think.
Queen: Maybe…Just maybe we should have tried harder to find Sarah…
The queen goes to the bedroom as well. The scene shifts to Johnny, who is on the border of Awesome Land and Really Cool Land. It is dark outside.
Johnny: Alright. I guess…I’ll go find Sarah…
A wolf begins to howl, startling Johnny.
Johnny: Ah! M-Maybe Dad was right? Maybe I acted too rashly? I didn’t even bring anything to defend myself in case I actually found the bastard who kidnapped Sarah…It’s not too late to turn back. No! That’s just what he wants me to do! He wants me to come running back to him and say ‘how foolish I was’ and that ‘he had been right all along.’
Well no dice, Old Man! I’ll rescue Sarah with or without your help!
The wolf howls again.
Johnny: Uh…Then again, a weapon never hurts to carry around. Back to the Palace!
Johnny runs off to the palace. The PFG comes out of some bush and reveals that he was the one howling. Johnny eventually makes it to the palace to see hundreds of guards. He accidentally alerts one to his presence.
Guard: Hey, what was that?
Guard2: Do you think it was Johnny?
Guard: Maybe…Let’s be on guard. King says that we keep the prince out under any circumstances.
Guard2: Right.
Johnny hides behind a bush as the guards resume patrol.
Johnny: So he sent the guards to keep me out? I wish he would use that much manpower to find Sarah…Whatever. I’ll get past the guards easily. I’ve got to get to the four upper towers. That’s where they keep the four most powerful weapons in the kingdom - the Artifacts of Wisdom. With those I can find Sarah and kill whoever took her! Now, how do I get up there? I could always try stealth…
The guards doze off.
Johnny: Or that works too…Our soldiers never were that good. When I become king that’ll have to be changed. While they’re knocked out, they wouldn’t mind if I borrow a weapon from them, would they? At least until I get up there and grab the True Sword.
Johnny takes a sword from one of the guards and tries to open the main entry to the palace.
Johnny: Locked. Of course. Now how am I supposed to get the Artifacts?
Johnny looks around and sees the same back entrance that Veralice used the previous year to sneak into the palace.
Johnny: I can’t fit through there…Huh? What’s this?
Johnny sees a rope ladder stuffed in the back entrance.
Johnny: That’s a little too convenient. Whatever. I guess I can use it to climb up to the first tower.
The rope ladder is added to Johnny’s inventory and he uses it on the first of the four towers, the one that carries the True Sword. He uses stealth to traverse the tower and eventually makes it to the unguarded top floor which would normally contain the True Sword. He opens the vault to see it empty except a sheet of paper.
Johnny: Where’s the True Sword? And what’s this note?
“Dear family, I have taken the True Sword to find the man who stole the Beauty Mirror. He lives in Awesome Land and had a very evil, unnatural aura about him. I do not know precisely who he is, but there was such a strong field of darkness around him that he should be found easily. The man seemed very powerful and I feel that the sword is the only way to kill him and recover the Mirror. I promise I’ll returned unharmed! The magic of the True Sword will protect me. Love, Sarah.” Johnny reads.
Johnny: That man! He must have taken her! And the Mirror and Sword, too! Well, I know where I have to go next…But I still need something to protect me. If that man is as powerful as Sarah said, then the other two Artifacts should suffice. Next up is the False Shield.
Johnny exits the palace tower and moves on to the next one containing the False Shield. Once he gets to the top, he opens the vault to find the shield there. He takes it, of course.
Johnny: Well, that was easier than I had anticipated. Now, what did the False Shield do? It’s a shield, yes, but it also…
A guard enters the room and stares at Johnny.
Guard: Hey! What are you doing here?
Johnny: Huh? What? (Johnny turns around)
Guard: Oh, just a fellow guard. Stay on the look out for the Prince.
Johnny: Uh…Right.
The guard leaves. Johnny realizes what the False Shield does.
Johnny: So the shield disguises me? That’s useful. Hey, now that I look like a guard I can get through the tower containing the Ugly Stick easily!
The game explains how to utilize the False Shield’s power to shift from disguised Johnny back to normal Johnny. Johnny, disguised as a guard, goes through the tower containing the Ugly Stick without trouble. Once he gets to the top, however, he meets a familiar face. It is that of the Time Keeper, the royal advisor to the King and instructor to the children. The Time Keeper is facing the door leading to the last remaining Artifact, the Ugly Stick.
Time Keeper: Ah, Johnny. I assumed you would be here soon enough.
Johnny: Ah! Did Dad send you to keep me out, too?
Time Keeper: Quite the contrary, Johnny. I lured you here of my own accord.
Johnny: Lured me? What are you talking about?
Time Keeper: Who do you think left that rope ladder at the Tower of the True Sword? As soon as the King announced what was going on, I knew you would return abruptly to take the Artifacts so you would have a better chance of rescuing Sarah.
Johnny: Well, what are you going to do now? At least you can sympathize with me, right? You’ve been our caretaker for the longest time and probably love Sarah as much as I do!
Time Keeper: Yes, I do care for the Royal Family. As that is so, I must tell you that your behavior is entirely too rash. Even if you do find your sister, what will you do then?
Johnny: Why does it matter? I’ll figure it out when-
Time Keeper: When. When isn’t good enough. When could happen in one week. When could happen in one hour. Surely I’ve taught you better than to act so hastily? Take the time to think of a plan!
Johnny: I don’t have time to think of a plan! Sarah’s in danger and I’m going to rescue her with or without your help! Out of the way so I can get the Ugly Stick!
The Time Keeper blocks the door leading to the Ugly Stick and pushes Johnny back. Johnny draws his sword and gets ready to strike.
Time Keeper: Johnny, please! Look at yourself! You’re about to attack the advisor, and for what reason? I’m just looking out for your best interest!
Johnny: My best interest is my sister, Time Keeper. I won’t rest until she’s rescued, and I’ll cut you down if it means her salvation.
Time Keeper: …I can see you won’t be dissuaded. Fine, then. I’m not going to allow your insolence and rage to consume you. You’re making a grave mistake, Johnny…
Boss Battle 1: The Time Keeper
Assuming the player doesn’t suck, he should ‘win’ the battle against the Time Keeper easily. After the battle scene is over, The Time Keeper stands tall while Johnny is panting.
Time Keeper: Johnny, surely you realize you cannot defeat me? I control time! Just give it up, go apologize to your parents and then the three of you can think of a plan together.
Johnny: He’s right. He does control time…But… You’re absolutely right, Time Keeper. I’m sorry I’ve been so foolish. We can still be friends, right?
Johnny opens his arms as if awaiting a hug.
Time Keeper: Of course, Johnny.
The Time Keeper approaches Johnny for a hug, only to be kicked straight into the wall, causing him to drop his staff and be knocked unconscious temporarily. Johnny grabs the staff and slams it on the ground, shattering it into a myriad of shards. He proceeds to go into the vaulted room and take the Ugly Stick, only for the Time Keeper to come back to consciousness and enter the room.
Time Keeper: Johnny, such behavior is unacceptable! I’ve no choice but to- My staff? Where’s my staff?
Johnny: Oh, you mean this? (Johnny takes the shards, waves them at the Time Keeper and throws them out of the window.)
Time Keeper: You! You fool! Boy, you’ll pay for this!
The Time Keeper charges at Johnny. Unbeknownst to the Time Keeper, however, Johnny is holding the Ugly Stick. Johnny strikes the Time Keeper with the Ugly Stick, transforming him into some strange clock/human hybrid.
Time Keeper: What? What…am I? What have you done to me, Johnny!?
Johnny: Wow. The Ugly Stick is more powerful than I thought…Ah, well. At least now you won’t be able to tell anyone about this. This whole scenario will be our little secret.
Time Keeper: What makes you think I’ll keep quiet after all of this?!
Johnny: Trust me. Dad’s not going to trust a talking clock.
