So, after browsing through my characters' individual backstories and reading through my ALO stories, I realized that making the Orbs of Nature from Awesome Land and the unnamed Orbs of Random World the same set of objects was a poor continuity move on my part for several reasons:
1) Seraphina (goddess) only created 4 Orbs of Nature, whereas Valsair from Random World sought out not only Fire, Water, Earth and Air, but Light and Darkness as well.
2) Although this might have been deception on Karxm/Karzm/Karzem/However Tyler is spelling it now's part, Valsair actually asked Karzem about the Orb of Water in a post made far before Omega World was thought of. Why would Karzem not have (or claim to not have) the Orb of Water and then magically have it a story later? Like I said, it may have been deception on his part or he obtained it afterward or something...
3) In Valsair's backstory, the orbs that he seeks were man made. Obviously conflicts with Seraphina creating the other set.
4) Valsair required Air, Water and Light to transform into Superion. He was in his Superion form battling the Time Keeper in Random World at the same time the protagonists were battling Raphael in Awesome Land. As Raphael is the Guardian of the Orb of Wind (and thus had it in his possession), can someone explain to me how this is possible? Trick question: It's not.
For all these reasons and more, I hereby retcon the fact that both orb sets were supposed to be the same. In addition, from now on there are to be two independent sets of orbs: The ones that are manmade and the ones that were forged by Seraphina, to be classified as "Random Crystals and "Awesome Orbs respectively.
Random Crystals and related artifacts
Wind Crystal
Water Crystal
Fire Crystal
Earth Crystal
Crystal of Light
Crystal of Darkness
Valsair's Spirit Pendant
Awesome Orbs and related artifacts
Orb of Wind
Orb of Water
Orb of Fire
Orb of Earth
Masamune, the de facto Orb of Light.
There are no Darkness/Spirit equivalents in this set.
Aside from the names, the primary difference is that the Orbs were forged by the Creator Goddess of Awesome Land canon, and are thus many, many times more powerful than their Crystal counterparts. The Wind Crystal can summon a tornado; the Orb of Wind can levitate a continent.
Now that that whole business is taken care of, there is room on the Random list for more Crystals. As Tyler said to me a few days ago, it would make sense for each of the Random World Immortals/Humors/Deities whatever to have a Crystal representing their own element. Thus, any Immortal whose element is not already on the Random Crystal list is permitted to have a Crystal, such as Wood, Ice (redundant) or Metal.
In addition, the primary antagonist of Awesome Land 5 is to be a girl who uses the Orb of 'Nutrients' or something to manipulate Rice Krispies. This will fall under the Random set of Crystals, even though it is to be used in Awesome Land. Likewise, it is to be renamed the "Crystal of Nutrients" or "Nutrient Crystal" or something along those lines.
Please note that this retcon should NOT affect any previously made story elements. Karzem still will have had the Orb of Water, Raphael still will have had the Orb of Wind while Superion had the Wind Crystal, so on and so forth.
That is all. Oh, and I suppose this will double as the "Awesome Land!: Official Retcon Thread" or something. If you need to make a minor change in character history, feel free to post it on this thread. Since this is an interactive story and thus many characters are built on many other characters, all retcons will be subject to approval so as to avoid leaving a huge dent in continuity by a single retcon.
For example, say Tyler were to alter Johnny's history so that he never had a sister. This would EFF up everything. Awesome Land! would not have had the sinister plot of Sarah being lost (because she wouldn't have existed), Sarah never would have taken the True Sword (because she didn't exist), Veralice never would have banished her, Johnny never would have tried to stop Veralice, and a bunch of things would just fall apart. Such a retcon would create far more holes than it would fix, so it would be disapproved.
NOW, I believe that is all.
