Lightsabers. Hyperspeed. Gravity inside spacecraft. to name a few. IDK, I'm just picky. You can start one if you want, I'll probably join anyway... all of those are actually possibilities. we now have prototype rotational gravity space vessels. there is theorys about haper space travel. the only thing it needs is a long lasting powerful enefy source (nuclear fusion would do the trick) AND THE BEST, there are scientists working on making real LIGHTSABERS! right now they just have crazy plasma beams of death that WOULD make a controlable beam of light capable of cutting through anything. BUT the plasma heats the air so hot that the wielder would bust into flames and die. |

*sigh* No. Hyperspeed travel relies on the existence of FTL (faster than light travel) which is impossible in the context in which Star Wars uses it. The ships all activate a hyperdrive which ACCELERATES the ships to faster than light travel. This cannot be done, you cannot accelerate to a speed at or greater than the speed of light. The end. here are some other things that people thought could not be done, ever. If an object Cannot travel faster than 35 miles per hour or it will disentigrate (this is what children were taught in the early 1900's in the school) the atom is the smallest particle in existence, it Cannot be split into other parts. (scientific theory in 1920's) the universe revolves around the earth. the the earth Cannot be moved. (many people were killed for thinking that the earth was not the center of the universe, astronomer galileo galilei was placed under house arrest for the rest of his life by the cathlic church for thinking this) none of this stuff is possible, because physics won't allow it. |

Gravity isn't generated by large spinning bodies, by the way. There aren't any coherent, accepted theories about what causes gravity. They only know it's there and how it works.

ALL of that was based on Physics. just there primitive understanding of it. which is what our understanding could be right now. like lucco said, we don't even know WHY OUR FEET ARE ON THE GROUND! gravity has scientists going "idk lol"

for this story we should start off with a set amount of main characters. two factions light/dark. and we should start off with a plot preamble, and as for time period. how about the great hyper space war, the first clash between the jedi and the sith. thousands of years before KoTor
