So I was talking to my ol' man earlier today and we began discussing what I planned on doing with my degree (Electrical Engineering) once I graduate. I had always planned on designing consumer electronics (DSes, iPods, cell phones, computers, etc) but recently the sheer wonders of electric based weaponry (Tesla's unfinished teleforce, electrolasers, etc) have captivated me.
Naturally, I TURN TO YOU PEONS FOR ADVICE. If you were in my shoes, which would you choose as a career and why? Consumer Electronics or Electric Weaponry?!?!?!?

Railguns and particle beam weapons would be included under that field as well.
