Different things. You could be selecting something, you could be opening a menu, you could be locking on to something, you could be opening a menu, you could be opening your inventory- or a menu, you could be setting your ship to approach/orbit/warp to something, you could be opening a menu, etc.

You take missions from agents, get money, go mining for money, PIRATE miners, join corporations, and the endgame content is massive fleet pvp. Player corporations own most of the EVE world
