The Megolin Federation:
Megolin was the first nation to be established when humans first set foot in Mundus Magica. It is a nation of proud, strong people that stretches across most of Western Mundus Magica. The Megolin Federation's capitol city is Megolin-Mesbaria, a thriving city with a population of almost forty thousand.
The Military might of the Megolin Federation is that of the Mage-Knights. Mage-Knights are often times sent to the Altinorian schools to begin their education, but return to Megolin for their further military training.
Megolin has faced several wars since its founding, the most well known being the Great War that ravaged the lad almost twelve years ago. This war pitted Megolin against its longtime rival nation the Hyddick Confederation. Other notable wars include the long past Mage Wars as well as fighting through two revolutions that saw Xiolin and Nostia gain their independence.

The Hyddick Confederacy:
Hyddick is home to (though not limited to) the race of beings known as Hellans. The Confederacy was founded in the aftermath of the Mage Wars, when Hellans and other races were born from the fallout. THey established their nation on the eastern lands of Mundus Magica, using land that had previously belonged to the now dead Nostia.
Hyddick and Megolin have a long standing rivalry, which has sparked war in the past. Both nations own Gates that lead to Mundus Veritas, and both are considered superpowers.
Unlike megolin's Mage-Knights, Hyddick employs the use of "Spell-blades", warriors of martial prowess that use magic to enhance themselves. While having this, Hyddick's martial mght is not as great as Megolin's; but Hyddick hosts the strongest navy in all of Mundus Magica.
Hyddick's capitol is the city of Hellas, which remains a large center of trade. Hyddick is divided into 15 states, which all convene under the command of the Hyddic Governor-General.

Altinor:
Altinor is a small island nation just off the coast of the Frostlands. The nation is a center of learning and students from all around the world come to learn at the famous Morah Academy. The Academy was originally small and humble, but over time, as people moved in, a city built up around the ever growing academy, and soom MorahCity was the capitol of the entire nation.
Altinorians are generally reserved and contemplative types, taking the world in a scholarly view. The nation is run from Morah City, and thus, Morah Academy. THe Headmaster of Morah Academy is also the nations' leader.
Altinor has no standing army, but is watched vigilantly by the Valkyrie Guard.
Altinor is often a waypoint for adventurers who want to brave the icy tundras of the Frostlands.

Xiolin:
Xiolin is a relatively small nation on the southern tip of the Western Continent, just below the Megolin Federation. Twenty years after Megolin was established, the Xiolinese people led a revolution and won their own nation. The Xiolinese, by default, are ethnically asian, their ancestors having arrived in Mundus Magica along with Megolin's people.
Even then, Megolinians treated Xiolinese with disdain and sometimes open racism. The Xiolinese have a tense relationship with their northern neighbors.
Xiolin is a nation of swordsmen. No other nationin the world has sword fighters as skilled as their own, and Xiolinese often are called upon to teach their ways.
THe Xiolinese capitol city is the large sprawling city of Kaineng. This city is the main trade hub between Megolin, Xiolin and Altinor.

The Kingdom of Ossen:
Ossen, much like Hyddick, was established in the wake of the Mage War. Ossen was considered a free nation where anyone of any race could live equally. It was a small but mighty nation. it's most famous landmark was the capitol of Vesperita, the floating city.
The nation itself had a military that even Megolin respected, its most famous asset being the dragons it employed: the only nation able to tame the beasts.
In the Great War twelve years ago, the nation of Ossen met its end. The war between Hyddick and Megolin had escalated and Ossen was finally drawn into the fold.
No one is quite certain how Ossen got involved, only that the nation was fighting a war against both Megolin as well as a civil war against a faction of its own people.
In the end the country was left a wasteland. The capitol city of Vesperita fell (literally), destroying itself and whatever remained of the nation. Thousands of refugees poured from the wreckage, seeking new homes.
Megolin and Hyddick, appalled at the destruction, agreed to a mutual cease-fire. The War had ended, but at a terrible cost.
To this day, Ossen remains a desolate wasteland.

Nostia:
Nostia was once a thriving kingdom in the northeastern region of Mundus Magica. Nostia was born from a bloody revolution with Megolin, hundreds of years ago, making it the fourth nation to come into being.
Nostia's people were a strong, magically astounding group that produced some of the finest mages in the world. Nostia had no true capitol, but was a system of fiefdoms and small states that met in a small republic. Oftentimes these fiefdoms would fight amongst themselves.
Nostia was the first victim of the Mage Wars. Though records are no longer clear, the Mage Wars began through the application of Dark Arts, long since banned and hunted to extinction. Nostia became the site of fierce and horrific fighting as Blood Mages, Necromancers and other malificars rose up to conquer the lands.
Megolin, Altinor, Xiolin and even the small empire of Cebrus rose to help stem the tide of darkness. Nostia became the stage of one of the most epic battles in all of Mundus Magica.
While in the end, the army of darkness was defeated, Nostia was an arcane wasteland, consumed by magical fallout and storms. The very walls of reality grow thin in whatever remains of that land.

Cebrus:
Cebrus is a moderate sized country in the western side of Mundus Magica. It nothing but desert. At one time, it hosted a small empire, who even made a name for itself by aiding in the Mage Wars. But in that same war, this empire was crushed, leaving Cebrus a lawless state that still exists today.
Cebrus has no true cities, but rather just scattered towns amid the sands and ruins. The nation is lawless. Gladiatorial tournaments are common and a great many of its inhabitants were or are Gladiators.

(gah, forgot I still had more to do...)
Elborn:
Elborn has never truly been settled. It is a lush land of forests and steppes, inhabited only by small towns and villages scattered across the land. These towns basically fend for themselves and each other, with no higher government to go to.
Elborn manages to retain some form of trade, mostly due to it's close proximity to Altinor, and is often used as a caravan route from Altinor to Cebrus.
Elborn is the only known place in Mundus Magica where dragons roam wildly, in herds; making the land very dangerous. As a result, all of Elborn's folk are hardy, tough people.

The Frostlands:
Th Frostlands is the large arctic continent that dominates southern Mundus Magica. It is a land of ice and snow. Few attempts had ever been made to settle the land, though rumors of the mysterious land always attract adventurers to it.
The Frostlands has almost no wildlife, save for a few arctic birds (or so the records tell) and little else. Though one account, from an adventurer who was found half starved and half mad, claims that the Frostland is home to a type of frost dragon or wyrm. These claims were never found to be true (or false) and ultimately discarded.
The oldest rumor of the Frostlands is that somewhere deep inland, lies the source of all life for Mundus Magica; the wellspring of magic and life that was used to create the world. Many expeditions were led to try and find this Well of Life; none returned.

The Darkened Isles:
The Darkened Isles are a series of five islands that stretch across the northeastern coast of Mundus Magica.
They were settled after the Mage Wars, by the Shades, who led a mass exodus of their kind to the islands to escape the rest of the world.
There are five Isles, one for each House, of Shades government. These islands are completely under Shade Control and isolated from the rest of the world. Barely any visitors travel to the mysterious land.
