I'd probably just call it Fangs of Monstrosity...or The Department. Both make sense.

I really like the idea of an episodic story. Although, will everything revolve around the Evil Necklace of Doom or will some chapters be devoted to tackling other beasties?

It's not really too much of an....actually I kinda like the episode thing, but it's all around the necklace and its lackies.

All right. Can this necklace influence events around itself? Like set up certain things for certain events?

Ok, so here's the story with a little more detail. The Department, which deals with paranormal activities or other such strange events, sees similarities with certain monster sightings and fear the worst: The Fangs of Monstrosity have activated. At first it sends out two of its agents (my characters) Jane Doe and John Smith. This isn't set in stone since I don't know what your characters are yet, so they could also be sent out with them. But I will have a brief post in the begining about just Jane and John on their own little mission, but they return to Headquarters right after. Also, the Department has one rule that everyone must have a partner (basically the buddy system). No going solo. You can create two characters and have them be partners or partner up with someone else who joins the story. You could also have a character that just tags along, perhaps someone who's involved with one of the cases or something like that.
So, they go around the country (maybe even the world) investigating certain circumstances that involve monsters, classics of course. I may throw some mythological ones in there, but they'll mostly be a surprise. There will also be many sightings of the Controller of the Fangs, who's name is not known. And eventually there will be a final battle with the Fangs of Monstrosity's Army, which it was planning to use to turn the world into a world of monsters.
The "episodes" go like this: we get briefed at headquarters, we head to the location, maybe have an immediate incounter or do a little investigating or etc, try to cure the monster if currable, kill it if it's been "bitten", learn more about the Fangs of Monstrosity and its holder, report back to headquarters with more company or less.

I'll make a guy who appears at the incidents, but isn't affiliated with the Department, or the Fangs.
Aside from that, I got nothing. Going to work on that.

I'm making a sort of bad ass bookworm character. He knows everything there is to know about various and assorted monsters from eldritch to aliens.
My other dude will be a psychic or something.
