Postulation:
The reasons behind Germany's strength are as follows:
The Holy Roman Empire never fell and later merged with Prussia. This merger occurred around 1820. After said merger, they rechristened themselves as the Holy German Empire. It's an absolute monarchy headed by the Kaiser.
Also, the empire didn't fall because the protestant reformation was a lot more peaceful in this continuity. Also, despite being an officially Catholic nation, the Holy German Empire is predominantly Lutheran; including the Kaiser.

Ok. So chapter 2 needs to have the following things - Introduction to Rachel - Lord Gendo having a nice father-son chat with Shaun - Shaun's new school/ Classmates - Delving into Anglo-German relations - And perhaps Shamshel if we have the time. Hm. Since we're diverging from the anime script... I suppose Shaun would want to see Rachel, since they are both pilots. Lord Genod would go with him and explain the state of the world ATM, but not EVERYTHING. SEELE will not be explained until later, k? I guess the second part would be Shaun at school, meeting Thomas and Kenneth. Does Thomas still beat Shaun up for hurting his sister? |

Let me finish the next chapter of Symphony, and I'll get right to Gaslight; it's about halfway done. I've got a nice framework in my head, but it needs a ending - by that, I mean how Shaun and Thomas become friends.

Shaun beats him in a manly bout of fisticuffs.
Thomas then runs off. T later returns to apologize after having an Epiphany regarding Shaun. (Hey, he saved thousands of lives through his mindless destruction!)
Bam. Solved.
