Dragon's Awakening will be split into three stories. The first will be Malum's Rise, which we will concern ourselves with for now. The others I will state when the first and second are done.
First I'll let you know about how the world works. I plan to make regions soon, but these will be general rules.
Ok, so in this world, most dragons can talk because they need to be able to communicate with humans. But all dragons also speak their own language. Also, Dragon's are still beasts. Not all of them are friendly, and some of them are only friendly to their human.
Also, dragons cannot be used by everyone. Though you may ride on one during travel or speak to one, they will not be your dragon. To obtain a dragon, it must choose you. This is doen usually at the academy. Dragons of all shapes and sizes fly in to find their human. Once your dragon finds you, you share a connection with it that you will only have. But be warned, dragons can leave their humans if they find them unsatisfactory.
Dragons usually work with a specific type of job, which was stated with that type of dragon's description, but the most common one is the military. Dragons are skilled fighters, if they are the type.
Dragons aren't the only creatures in this story. The world holds more than that, along with normal animals, too. You don't have to study with only dragons at the academy or wherever you are. You can choose to work with stable animals or birds.
But on to the actual story, a long time ago, there was a terrible dragon named Malum. He saught to destroy all creatures and have the world inhabited by dragons. All dragons split either into the good or evil side. World wide battles ensued, but the humans were losing terribly. Malum only continued to grow in size along with his army. All hope seemed lost. Then one young man, a member of the army, volunteered to vanquish the evil dragon himself. This man was Drake Farell. Though no one thought he would live, they let him go anyway. He flew his dragon out towards Malum's army where he discovered the dragon grew to the size of a castle. Not much is known of the fight, but the dragon was slayed, and Drake became known as the Hero. Unfortunately, an egg was found inside the dragon's body. It was thought that it would be just the same as Malum and must be destroyed, but it was indestructable. They also found that it grew, rapidly, but never hatched. The Academy now keeps it on its grounds as proof of the legend, but also to guard it. For it is said that when the egg is touched by its foe, the egg will hatch, and Malum will wreak havoc again.
The story takes place a century later. Though it will be set in the academy, feel free to make a subplot elsewhere or join in later. There, the characters will be chosen by dragons or choose their creature unless they have already done so. You can be a student that has already been attending the academy.
But the main point of the story is that Malum IS awakened, and that our heroes must go on a quest to destroy him. The decendant of the Hero (me) must find the sword that slayed the beast (with help of course) and fight him one on one. Though you will still get the chance to fight Malum along with his army.
The dragon will not be awakened right away. They will chill at the academy, explore, chill some more before it finally is. So don't expect it to start right away.
If you have any questions, ask.
