Good god. www.alternatehistory.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=158364First off: a warning. This is an incredible Alternate History ASB scenario. It's incredibly well thought out and is heavily inspired by HP Lovecraft. It concerns a very different world. A world where Antarctica is habitable. Hellish but habitable. The ensuing culture spawned here-in is simply sickening. "They are the utter opposite of everything we know as civilization, yet are not savage. Rather, they are like a black mirror unto ourselves. As industrious, as clever, as restless and dynamic. They have taken my ship apart like a child's puzzle, meditating over each component, striving to duplicate and better the production. I curse the day that the wandering spirit sent men to sail the seven days. ...in my heart, I feel fear, because now they know that we exist..." Cpt. James Cook, July 1774, sometime after castration. Premature - if I get to the place I want to get you, and do it right, you'll sleep with the lights on, chug gravol for a week and every day google Antarctica just to make sure you're in the timeline where its under two miles of ice. But we're not even close to there, yet." D Valdron, the thread's author. 5/5. But beware of the pure High Octane Nightmare Fuel.
