Name: Cale Efrun Age: 18 Race: Human Appearance: Cale stands at just over six feet, and is fairly well built. He has medium length, dark brown hair, and brown eyes. He the beginnings of a beard. Personality:Sometimes seen as a bit lazy, Cale enjoys relaxing, and prefers to calmly think a problem through instead of tackling it head-on. While he slacks off frequently, he works hard when he sets his mind to something. He is also a bit of a dreamer, and desires a life of adventure. Bio: Cale was born and raised in a farming village in the western part of Balaeruid. He lived there working on his family's farm, and probably would have for the rest of his life if not for the war in the east. As taxes were raised, Cale and his family found that they couldn't support themselves off of their farm alone any longer. Eager to see more than just his village, Cale volunteered to go to Cimanor to find some way to bring in enough money so that his family could survive.
Name: Andraerl Efrun Age: 19 Race: Human Appearance: Similar to Cale, however his hair and eyes are black, he has no facial hair, and he is a bit more skinny than his brother. Personality: Usually sarcastic and unkind, Andraerl is quick to anger, and while he usually gets his work done faster than Cale, he shares none of his brother's desire for adventure. He tends to be a bit manipulative, and when he comes around certain items tend to go missing, even from people's pockets. Bio: Andraerl lived a similar life to Cale, but while Cale would get in trouble with his parents for not doing his work, the older brother would often get caught stealing from the other villagers. He has never done anything serious enough to get himself into serious trouble, however he is disliked by nearly everyone in his village.
Name: Khelor Bisig Age: 42 Race: Dwarf Appearance: Short and burly, like most dwarves, with long red hair and a beard which he keeps braided. Green eyes. Personality: Usually, Khelor is unnaturally positive, and likes to make jokes frequently, which usually aren't funny to anyone but himself. Even in situations that look hopeless, he manages to stay optimistic. He is, however, easy to anger, especially when someone gets between him and his ale. Regardless of the mood he's in, Khelor loves to fight. Bio: Most of Khelor's early history is a mystery, even to Enieyla. It's mostly just know that at somepoint during his life, he left his home to become a treasure hunter, and he and Enieyla have been working together ever since. Though they are rarely successful, through their adventures they have met many people and seen much of the world.
Name: Enieyla Mantiel Age: 27 Race: Elf Appearance: Enieyla has the average height and body shape of an elf, though even by their standards she is beautiful. She has light skin, long, light brown hair, and bright blue eyes. Personality: Enieyla is cold and quiet. Between herself and Khelor, she is the rational one. She is intelligent and thinks through all of their plans, often keeping the two of them out of trouble. She is seen by some as cruel, and she prefers to accomplish tasks with as little interaction with others as possible. Bio: Enieyla is a druid, who spent the first twenty years of her life in the forest of Milanian. Her reasons for leaving are unknown, but for six years now she has been traveling with Khelor. To most, it is a mystery why she would travel with the dwarf, who is so different from herself, however his fighting skills have saved the two of them on several occasions. At present, the pair has no target, and is in Cimanor after having been beaten to the last treasure they searched for.

Name: Miadabel Mordath
Aliases: Master Mordath; Mordath the Magnificent; Marvelous Miadabel
Race: Gnome
Age: 55ish
Appearance: Thick mustache and eyes brows (that almost hide his eyes) and thick glasses to aid his failing eyesight.
History: Originally of Losigin, Miadabel emigrated to Balaeruid in his early teens to see Cimanor, the technological center of the world. Intending to ‘make it’ in the human city, he set up several mechanic shops under various names before he finally caught a break when a wealthy human need a rifle repaired: a family heirloom. Repairing it wasn’t much, but the man was so impressed he spoke of “Master Miadabel” and his skill. While he didn’t become a superstar overnight, Miadabel gained enough business to actually stay in business. His business rivals are mostly Gnomish immigrants, and a few human forges. “Master Miadabel Mordath’s Magnificent Mechanics” has remained in business for nearly two decades. He is frequently is called upon to perform maintenance on the locomotives that run stop in the city.
Personality: Quick tempered and excitable, Mordath is irritable when his apprentices mess up. Many of them are human, and so do not possess his deft, nimble fingers, so he does his best to be patient with them. He scoffs at those who don’t take proper care of their machines.
Weapon: Not much of a fighter (though he has been known to swing a wrench at a misbehaving apprentice) but he favors firearms to “brutish” bladed weapons.

Name: Matthias Sandar
Aliases: Matthew; Matty; Matt
Race: Human
Age: 17ish
Appearance: Light brown hair and inquisitive, hazel eyes. His hair is never combed or even well kept, so while out in public, he hides it under a top hat decorated with brass and copper gears - the hat it self is ratty and patched. Many articles of his clothing have such mechanical parts sewn on. His favorite thing to have are the brass goggles, which are either on his eyes, or resting on his forehead.
History: Matt was fascinated by machines since he was a child. Often, his parents would enter a room to find he had deconstructed a clock, piece by piece to find out how it worked. It was several more years before he was able to put them back together. Clockworks is a particular interest to him, which is a shame since technology has since progressed to primarily steamworks. He was apprenticed out to Master Mordath at age 13 and quickly gained the old Gnome’s favorite student; he seemed to have the dexterity of a Gnome – or at least the patience and respect for machinery that few teens had.
Personality: Eager and focused – to a point. At times, Matt can be so focused on a particular aspect of a machine that he neglects the larger picture for days at a time. He likes to adorn his clothing with pieces of broken machinery, making him stand out even in Cimanor.
Weapon: Like his master, he isn’t much of a fighter, but carries a knife – a gift from his late grandfather – with him always. The same grandfather also taught him how to use a rifle, and Mordath the inner workings. It’s an old rifle-more clockwork than modern firearms, but it works just as well.

Name: Clara Lux
Aliases: Claire; halfblood; orc-girl
Race: Human (half-orc)
Age: 18ish
Apperance: Browned skin, pale blue eyes. Sharp, jagged features and the fierce scowl she wears make her unapproachable to many. Her hair is jet-black and short.
History: Clara's mother, was a practitioner of White magic as a medic to a company of soldiers along the Balaeruid – Murzulbag border. One night an orc band took them by surprise and before they could rally a proper counterattack, most of the men were dead. Her mother was raped during the chaos, but survived with a few other soldiers. She never made it back to her home town, but gave birth in a military hospital at a prominent military base in the northeast. She died giving birth.
As Clara grew, it became apparent that she had orcish blood in her as well as her White magic heritage. She was taken to her grandparents and given to them to raise as a daughter. Growing up, the other kids picked on her for her orcish heritage, which manifested as darkened skin, but she retained her mother’s blue eyes. Eventually, she had enough of the torment and beat up the children who teased her. The village folk will tell you it was the ferocious orcish blood, her grandparents will say it was the years of abuse, but whatever the reason, she beat four fifteen year olds to bloody pulp – breaking several arms, noses, and knocking a few teeth out. This was the last straw for the villagers: the exiled Clara. She went willingly, vowing never to return.
She was fourteen.
Since then, she has wandered around Balaruid alone, cycling between thievery and bounty hunting - which often became thievery when they refused to pay the posted bounty.
Personality: As she is an expy of Ryn from Trydia, Clara is cold and distant and sees the worst in everyone – they wouldn’t accept her for her heritage, so why should she give them any sort of courtesy? Perhaps deep down, she desires companionship, but she can’t trust anyone long enough to get close.
Weapon: Pistol (stolen), short sword (stolen), dagger (stolen). Her white magic also counts, but it remains underdeveloped due to the lack of a proper teacher. If anything, she wants to becomes a proficient healer, but for different reasons than one might think.

Name: Kazamir Vyrelian Race: Undead Age: 32 Appearance: Background: Kazamir was born a human, living with his family in the rugged north of Balaeruid. He discovered his talent for magic at a young age, practicing at night in secret. As he grew older, his powers grew more defined. He discovered himself to be very adept at Black Magic in particular. Kazamir's father had always been distrustful of magic in general, and when he one day discovered his son's ability, he beat the boy and forbid him from ever doing it again. Kazamir left his family that night, at the age of sixteen, bitter and ambitious to learn all he could of his art. He became a wanderer, and in his travels he saw many things, one in particular that directed his interests into a particular study. Kazamir came to undeath three years later, and not through the normal means of contracting the effect. He had become fascinated with the catastrophe that had created the Forbidden Lands, and through study, and foolishly ventured into the Forbidden lands. He fell, and rose again, as an undead, though not before sealing away his own soul in a spellbook. When he died, his soul remained, and he was able to regain his former self in his new dead body. Effectively, with his soul, separated from his body, he was a lich, and retained most of his magical knowledge, even as the strange magic within his body began to make him more self-aware. He spent a time at Lameldor, with other undead that had begun to display intelligence. Ultimately he grew bored and annoyed with his fellow undead and left, seeking his own escape plan. He He escaped the Forbidden Lands and eventually to Cimanor, where he (discreetly) had technology fuzed to him (mostly his head and arms). His new look, while a bit suspicious, left him without fear of being killed on sight. personality: Kazamir is detached and cold most of the time, but he has an insatiable curiosity Extras: Kazamir tends to not use his magic until he can find no other rational alternative. Not out of caution, simply because he'd rather do it that way. Weapons: dual revolvers and his unique staff, which has a blade attached to the bottom. `````````````````````````````````` Name: Teryal Zrastass Age: 325 Race: Dragonkin Appearance (dragon) : Average size for a dragon, with white scales. Appearance (human disguise): an 18 year old of average build, with icy blue eyes and pale blond hair. bio: Teryal is a full-blooded dragon, one of the few left of his family. While all in his line had been trained in magic, Teryal seemed to have no trouble using most types of magic. It is widely known that the dragon kind do not leave their homelands. As such, it came as a great surprise to Teryal when he was one day contacted by a strange fellow dragon, named Belicus. The other dragon revealed that Teryal had been invited to join a secret order within the dragon nation, answering directly to the council. An order of dragons that operated outside of the the dragon lands, hiding among other races and watching, sometimes even guiding other races to certain actions, for the betterment of all (or at least, all dragons). Teryal eagerly joined, and was taught how to shape-shift, an art not widely known. Now with a disguise, he ventured out into the world. personality: Teryal is a friendly, if somewhat stiff and haughty, person. He often comes across as clueless, due to him still learning about the cultures around him.

Name: Ethan Conlaed Age: 21 Race: Elf Appearance: Just under six feet tall with a slender build, he is pale with flaming red hair and bright orange eyes. His clothing changes with his mood, which, like the fire he conjures with his magic, is chaotic; however, it is always fully red, yellow, orange, or black or trimmed with one of those colors. Weapons and Magic: He could almost be considered a master of fire, but he still has some trouble controlling his more powerful spells. He prefers to stay away from melee combat, using his magic and his bow to obliterate enemies from afar, but when forced into it, he prefers the use of his staff made from carved obsidian and topped with a ruby, which, if observed closely, one would swear that a fire raged within it.
