Discuss here. Potential plot points, potential partner Digimon, potential anything else of importance. FOR FAIRNESS SAKE, PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING DIGIVOLUTION CHART. As you see, the lowest level a Digimon can go is "Baby", while the highest is "Super Ultimate". Try to keep your initial Digimon as a "Baby" or "In-Training" (unless it has neither form, in which case "Rookie" is acceptable). Tamer

AS SHOWN ABOVE, IF ZAC WERE TO JOIN, HIS DIGIMON WOULD GO THROUGH THAT PATH, STARTING AS EITHER A BABY OR IN-TRAINING. KEEP THIS IN MIND WHEN YOU CHOOSE A DIGIMON. THE CHART ABOVE SEEMS TO COVER JUST ABOUT ALL OUR POSTERS, IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN. EXCELLENT. ALL THE PLOT RELATED STUFF HAS ALSO BEEN THOUGHT UP, AS PER ONE OF THE POSTS BELOW. COMMENT AND QUESTION IT AT YOUR LEISURE.

SO, AFTER MUCH DELIBERATION, HERE IS THE BASIC PREMISE OF THE STORY. ALSO, QUESTION, COMMENT AND CONCERN YOURSELVES AT YOUR LEISURE. So, you and any other people who join the story start off as real world people, chilling at school and doing whatever schoolkids do. And then you find a SUPERCOMPUTER OH SHI-. And somehow you all get sucked through this supercomputer into the Digital World, where your cellphones/PDAs/vidja gaemz get turned into Digivices, and you all meet up with your chosen partner Digimon (I'll leave how you encounter your Digimon up to you). You learn that the Digital World is controlled by 3 factions - The Blue Falcons (who specialize in Data attribute Digimon), the Gold Hawks (Vaccine Digimon) and the Black Swords (Virus). The three factions are all at an uneasy peace with each other since the First Great Cyber War many years ago. Whereas before the war all types of people and all types of Digimon associated with each other, now the concept is virtually unheard of. As such, each of you join a faction depending on the Digimon you partnered with and slowly become accustomed to the Digital World. While learning to live in your new world, war breaks out again. The Black Swords obtain a new piece of technology (to be explained in detail later) which gives them an advantage over the others, so they take the opportunity to finish what was started during the first war and advance into territories controlled by the Falcons and Hawks. The Hawks, knowing that they don't have much chance against the Black Swords, decide to turn on the Falcons and take some of their territory (in order to recoup the territory they lost to the Swords). The Falcons, rightfully angry at both parties, begin work on a weapon (a rough equivalent to a real world nuclear weapon) that can instantly drain the data of all Digimon in a sizable radius and revert them to Digiegg form (or even destroy them completely). The creation of such a weapon violates laws imposed upon the world by the Royal Knights and the Celestial Digimon, 16 of the most powerful Virus, Data and Vaccine Digimon in the Digital World who act as a cross-factional pseudo-governing body (think UN). They're doing their best to remain unbiased, but they realize that the three factions will eventually destroy themselves if nothing is done. Thus, some of the more proactive Royal Knights eventually leave the UN like organization to return to their native factions, figuring they'd rather have their respective sides win the war than let the world destroy itself. All the while, CRAZY ISH THAT NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT IS SECRETLY GOING DOWN. As an ambitious young (or old, depending on how old you were in school) Digimon Tamer new to the world, you have the choice of finding the underlying cause behind this new war and resolving it...or helping your faction win and imposing your will upon the Digital World. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And that's what I thought of shortly after discussing with Tyler last night and falling asleep. Forgive the rather jumbled nature of the above paragraphs. I just woke up (actually I woke up an hour and a half ago and have been typing since), and trying to coherently explain something you primarily dreamed while being only partially awake is nigh impossible. The plot/backstory combines several elements of the Digimon mythos (none of which you need to know about, unless you want to) while being a slight deconstruction and providing the opportunity NOT to be a goody two shoes 11 year old trying to save the world. I really only know how I want the ending of the story to play out (but that wouldn't be for 60~ pages anyway), so the entirety of the Second War is to be determined by you all. To that end, I thought we could incorporate the 'battle determining system' I found some time ago (see: "The Different Types of Roleplaying - Type 4") in which major battles are determined by real life games of Rock Paper Scissors. I believe there is at least one person per faction here (and, in typical YourStory manner, people could create extra characters if there weren't enough), so this might be able to work, with a bit of alteration. Obviously, Tamers with 40 feet tall MetalGreymons would have a huge advantage over Tamers with newborn baby Chibomons, so the system would have to be more complex than Rock Paper Scissors, but I'll work that out when we get to it. I'm probably getting ahead of myself here, but if I don't type it all now I may just forget it... SO ANYWAY, with all that out of the way, post your questions, comments and concerns and let's see how to make this Digimon RP work.

You just happened to pick the perfect Digimon to explain the chart. Chibomon naturally has all 7 Digivolution levels. Tyler's and my own don't have actual Super Ultimates (mine doesn't even have a Baby form)- just rough equivalents that will work for story purposes. Also, SUBLIMINAL MESSAGING. If you're on the chart, you're more likely to join. RESEARCH PROVES IT. And to the chart you go, Adam!

After much research, Jesse (including a cursory glance at several dog articles on Wikipedia), I found for you Paomon, Xiaomon and Labramon for use as the Baby, In Training and Rookie forms of Dobermon, respectively. As it turns out, canine based Digimon (bar wolves like Garurumon and Gaogamon) are few and far between, so the Paomon family seems like the best fit in my opinion. digimon.wikia.com/wiki/Paomondigimon.wikia.com/wiki/Xiaomondigimon.wikia.com/wiki/Labramon
