Hermit turned to the man, his expression unreadable. "Fool." he said quietly. " Neutral territory is not the way of Ragnarok!" with a raise of his hand the members suddenly struck, taking out two of the bouncers before they had a chance to blink. "We will control all of this city!" he said.
"Besides...we are no gang. We are Ragnarok!"

"Yeah, I heard you." Matteas said smugly. "That's what you're goons said before, but I threw them out easily enough." He stood. His eyes twitched only slightly and one of the Ragnarok men flew backwards out the door. "Maybe I should do the same to you clowns, if you don't leave."

A silence filled the tavern as the Ragnarok men froze suddenly. It almost looked like there was fear in their eyes.
Suddenly Hermit began to laugh. "What those two idiots? I killed them." he said casually. Suddenly he was gone, and reappeared behind Matteas. "Now what was that?" he hissed.

Quick as a diving hawk, Matteas whirled around, his power flaring to life in his hands, creating a shockwave. Chairs were thrown, the table overturned, drinks shattered, and the Hermit was flung against the far wall of the tavern, making the wood bend and crack.
"I think I was telling you to leave."

Hermit stood up and laughed again. "Well well...it looks like you might be able to entertain me after all." He suddenly spread his arms out in a fighting stance.
"I am a master of the 'Ken-po' martial arts. You will not be able to beat me." Suddenly he was upon Matteas, a flurry of kicks and punches. One managed to knock the knife from Matteas' hand.
Around the two, other fights were happening. The Ragnarok men were engaging the bouncers and even civilians were fighting. Apparently some thought that if they supported Ragnarok, they would gain favor with them.

Matteas clutched his chest, trying to regain his wind after it was knocked out of him. "No," he struggled to say. Some patrons were fighting WITH the Ragnarok men. "No." He supported himself against the wall. "What are you doing?"
"Staying alive!" One man yelled back at him. Angry, Matteas threw him into a table, headfirst, knocking him unconscious. Still furious he threw out his power to the Ragnarok men and the civilians who sided with them. Out into the streets they flew, accompanied by tabled and chairs that pelted them into submission.
Then he threw out a great force into Hermit, sending him crashing through the wall of the tavern.

Hermit stood up outside the tavern, somewhat suprised. "Hmmm you certainly have a bit of skill." he said to Matteas. Around him, patrons and men were gathering themselves up.
"Hey, all of you." Hermit turned to the traitorous patrons. "If you defeat that man you will all be official members of Ragnarok!" he pointed to Matteas. Without another word, the random men charged at Matteas.
Hermit smirked. "How does it feel? To see all you thought you knew betray you?" there was a hint of bitterness in his voice.

A hand fell unconsciously on Rubliacxe, still resting in its scabbard. A surge of ferocity charged through his body; such ferocity he never knew before. His power released itself without being called, tearing into the charging men who aimed to kill him. Against his wish, his power cut into them, throwing them around and slashing their flesh.
Some lost and arm or a leg, others their head. At once they all fell the floor, creating a great pool of blood that made the other patrons get up and flee, all the while giving him a look of fear.
Matteas fell to his knees, shaken by his own power. Did he do that? No, he didn't want to, it just happened on its own. But he'd always been in control, always. Then he saw the Hermit again and the same feeling of rage overtook him, and the power leaped out at the Hermit, this time with the intent to kill.

Hermit cocked his head at the Killing Intent he was feeling. "Hmm there definitely is more to you than at first glance." he glanced down at the dead citizens. "Worthless." he spat.
Suddenly Hermit unleashed his own Killimost solid shockwave that blew the charging Matteas back into a wall.
"I am The Sixth Fist of Ragnarok!" Hermit yelled, charging at Matteas. "I will not be defeated by the likes of you! Lord Zais demands it!" he yelled and struck the stunned man with a flurry of Ken-Po moves.
Bones snapped.

Matteas cried out. His left arm was broken, and the man was still beating on him. He couldn't get away, he couldn't breath, he was going to die. He called on his telekinesis, but it would not come, he had no energy left to give to it. This was the end.
Then, Hermit was thrown off. Matteas gasped for he was as surprised as the other. Then he saw that he had drawn Rubliacxe, but how? A power radiated from the sword, a power that flowed into him. What happened next, happened on instinct.
Matteas plunged the sword into the floor. The countless runes inscribed on the blade slid off onto the floor and circled around it. A fire radiated from the sword, but did not burn. It grew bigger,and bigger, taking shape as it did. Then, before Mateas and Hermit, stood a magnificent Phoenix, composed of pure holy fire. It spread its wings wide to protect Matteas, and as it did so Harmit was again struck by a powerful force, this one latent with Holy Fire.
The fire enveloped the tavern, blinding anyone near. A shrill cry sounded throughout the city. Then the Holy Fire was gone, the tavern was intact. But all the men who came with Hermit, and those who had sided with him, vanished in a puff of smoke.
But Matteas was gone.

Leon wandered through the Sea semi aimlessly, knowing he needed to find the Earth Orb but having no idea how to do so. As he walked he could have sworn he spotted a pterodactyl akin to Ridley, prompting him to reminisce. A feeling of evil rushed down his back at the thought of what he had done to the poor creature seasons before. He screamed "Help!" but to no avail...
Suddenly, it seemed his prayers were answered.
Nearby Leon spotted a tavern with smoke quickly clearing and disappearing from the area. He rushed toward it with haste, Mari still following him via giant cow.

(It's a desert, so maybe we walked in circles.)

Mari unwillingly walked along. In the desert, you couldn't do much to get away. If you did, it just meant you were alone in the heat, and if you wandered unknowingly into the sea part there would be no one to help you. It was impossible to get out on your own. She figured going out on her own would be suicide.
She tripped over her own feet as she walked along, getting a mouthfull of sand. She spat it out and tried to get it off of her dry toungue. The texture made her think of drowning in the sand. Going under, knowing that the more you struggle, the worse it gets, sand flowing into every opening of your body, suffocating you from the inside. She couldn't imagine a more horrible death.
Leon suddenly began running towards a burning tavern. Figuring that he was her only chance of survival at the moment, she followed. As she eyed the tavern ahead, she noticed they were going back to Fyu'Guit (?). 'Idiot, he's been going in circles.'
She rushed on, occasionally tripping in the sand, towards the tavern.

Hermit pulled himself out of the flames. All around him, people were running and screaming. Ragnarok members, he noted, had wasted no time in using the confusion to their advantage and staking their claim in the surrounding area.
With a small note of satisfaction, he saw that they were from his division. He dusted himself off and drew his cloak tighter around himself.
"Lord Hermit!" a random man called out. "How do we procede?" Hermit paused for a moment.
"Have all troops move up and inhabit this area. the other divisions can cover our absence." he said. THe man nodded.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
in the center of town, a once derelict building now stood proudly, remade. Those citizens who saw it however, looked on with dread at the banner that hung from the center tower.
Ragnarok had a capitol. It was no longer just a petty gang.
Cow-man flew over the desert/sea. Not much else he could do. So far no plot involved him.
(And Matteas too, maybe?)
The flames cleared and Matteas awoke, injured, on the edge of town, sword still in hand. On the edge of his blurry vision, he saw the girl from before.
"Hey," he called weakly. "Help me!"
Mari glanced around when she heard someone call to her. They were back in town, and the Sand Wyrm didn't look too good. A gang had apparently taken over. She saw Matteas on the ground not far away. She ran up to him, ignoring Leon since she was back in town, and knelt down. She observed his many injuries and saw that he was barely able to remain conscious.
"Oh my God, what happened?!"
"Hey! Wait up! I command you because I'm - Oh..." Leon realized that he was not in Awesome Land any longer and his emperor status had been stripped of him. "Old habits die hard, I suppose..." he muttered. "Right. Looks like Mari and the building might be in danger. I'll fix this Moses style." Leon said. He stabbed his staff, Telumbra, into the ground in an attempt to part the sand around him. His plan failed, however, and he was swallowed up by the sand, tossed about only to end up right in front of the tavern.
"Well that was extraordinarily pointless." Leon said, trying in vain to dust off his clothes for the second time in his visit ot the area. He noticed Mari and Matteas and approached them, unsure of what to do next. Saving people had never been his strong point.
