I decided to post this so you'd know what I was talking about. It's based on this song, so I'm not just writing a random emo story. Prologue It had been raining for days, but today seemed to be the worst of it all. It was pouring like crazy, and the lightning didn’t let up either. It was a horrible day to be outside, but Janie didn’t care. She knelt behind some bushes in her backyard, a place where she wouldn’t be seen, and continued to scatter flower petals here and there. They were from weeds, but it was all she could find. She couldn’t buy any and she couldn’t steal from her neighbors, so she had picked all the weeds surrounding her home. Now she picked all of their petals and scattered them over a small area of earth. There were two twigs in front of her that she had tied together to make a cross, and she had made a small circle with random pebbles she had dug up. It was her own little sanctuary, her version of a grave. She finished scattering the petals and bowed her head, saying a short prayer. The rain continued to pour, soaking her to the bone. Her long, black hair stuck to her face and clothes, and her jacket and jeans became heavy, but she continued to pray. It was the most she could do. No, she could do more. She could run away, but he wouldn’t like that. He would find her like last time. It was best just to stay put for now. She was well enough to go to school now, and she would be attending the next day. She wondered if anyone would remember her. “Janie!?” Janie jumped up from the ground and brushed the mud off of her. “I’m coming!” She ran off towards the house and left the grave behind her. The rain washed some of them away and buried others in the mud, but the cross stayed put as a reminder of the year before. Janie took one last glance at it before he grabbed her arm and slammed the door behind her.

Chapter 1 Skyler lightly drummed his fingers on the desk as the teacher droned away about WWI. He had heard this song over and over, and knew it forwards and backwards. He didn’t understand why they taught it every year, but then again, he always seemed to know too much about everything to begin with and was always at an advantage. He was almost at the top of his class, and all the teachers loved him. He was always known as the goodie-two-shoes or teacher’s pet, but he really didn’t care. He just answered with common sense. “Skyler, pay attention. This will be on the quiz tomorrow.” The class groaned when the teacher announced that there would be a quiz. Apparently, it had been unknown until now. A few of the students glared back at him as if it was his fault. He just ignored them and folded his arms on top of his desk. He tried to pay attention to what the teacher was saying, but everything she said just seemed to sound like humming to him. It always put him to sleep, and he began to dose off. He was suddenly jerked awake by one of his friends. It was Joey, a boy who sat next to him. He had shaggy black hair and looked like the classic high school kid. He was Skyler’s best friend. “Hey, man, wake up. There’s some new girl.” Skyler lazily looked up from his desk towards the front of the class. There was a girl standing next to the teacher, and it looked like Mrs. Hazy was introducing her. “This is Miss Janie Jena, and she’s our newest student. Would you like to tell anyone about yourself.” Janie was silent. Mrs. Hazy looked a little embarrassed at this result and sent her to the desk in the back corner of the room. “Leave it to Mrs. Hazy to freak out the new girl,” Skyler thought. He watched her as she sat down and ignored the stares from the other kids in the class. She seemed shy, and bowed her head so that her hair fell in front of her face to hide it. Her hands were folded in her lap, and she didn’t move after that. She was like a statue. “Hey, Skylar,” Joey said as he nudged his friend’s shoulder, “Isn’t that guy who owns the restaurant named Jena?” Skylar knew the restaurant he was referring to. It was called Seven Seas, a sea food joint. The owner’s name was Mr. Jena. “Maybe she’s his daughter or something, I don’t know.” Skylar laid his head on his arms again and closed his eyes. Joey seemed to get the answer he needed and sat back in his desk. He glanced at Janie every once in a while, though, to try and find the resemblance. She didn’t look like him at all, or at least he didn’t think so. But he didn’t think Mr. Jena was even married. “Mr. Merlo, pay attention.” Joey turned away from Janie and focused back towards the board.

don't have an attention span long enough to read it, though skimming it I saw
“Hey, Skylar,” Joey said as he nudged his friend’s shoulder, “Isn’t the guy’s name who owns that restaurant named Jena?”
maybe "Isn't that guy who owns that restaurant named Jena?"

Fix'd, but Joey could just have bad grammar. He is a typical high school kid after all.

It's about a girl who was abused, I think. Or at least, that's what I think what the song's about. Video makes me think differently..........oh, well.
