My goodness...restart some stories. I really don't feel like giving my classic long winded tirades and explanations, but I shall say:
Restart all current fail stories with new/better plots such as was done with Land of Lore.
Set a maximum amount of stories that a member can be a part of at any one time. Harsh as this may seem, I feel that this is a necessary measure to prevent us from becoming overwhelmed.
Likewise, keep a running summary of what's going on to prevent more overwhelming. During my travels across Europe I wrote in my special Travel Journal and detailed everything that I had done. However, I wrote in it only twice and each time I wrote I had about 10 days of stuff to cover. By updating a summary of a story every page or so, you retain the interest of the story participants and help ensure the longevity of the story. One of the main problems with Awesome Land! was that it got to 37 pages while no one bothered starting a summary until about 20 pages were already done. I have been told several times by people that they would have joined Awesome Land had they been able to keep up with it. Granted, Awesome Land! had little plot and anyone could jump in at any time and do just about anything, but a constantly updated summary would still be nice.
If you see that a post has not been made within 24 hours, then post something. Don't just leave the story there expecting that someone else will make a post. I feel that this is one of the most common reasons the stories die out.
If you have any more suggestions, feel free to add them, though this is mainly addressed toward Tyler and awaits his approval. I will officially begin this in a few hours or so, but I'm feeling ill and jet lag is winning our current battle. I should be able to defeat him tomorrow, so expect all of the stories to be Phoenix Downed soon.
