Maybe, as long as it's not another interactive space.

Okay:
In the year 2130, humanity has ascended to the stars. The nations of Earth entered a massive space race, claiming planets and resources on massive scales. It seemed as though the world would face war, in the wake of depleting materials for survival.
A breakthrough in technological warping by the UN led to the creation of the Zion Gate, a massive star gate that could send ships to an entirely different galaxy. Massive colonization fleets rushed to this galaxy, dubbed Androidia, and began to spread in this new land. Until disaster struck.
it is unknown what caused the accident, but somehow, the Zion Gate in the Milky Way suffered damage and was destroyed. Billions of people were left stranded in Androidia, cut off from their homeland.
A hundred years has passed, in which time the people of Androidia have managed to cultivate a society, driven by three main forces:
The Ecclesiastical Navy, a theocratic military society that holds on to the old religion and belief in God, wanting to spread their word to all.
The Ventari Federation, a militaristic society led in the fashions of military of Old Earth. The Ventari are the only truly free society, led by a Council.
The third power are a large scattering of Mege Corperations; hyper-capitalists who struggle and fight over a large span of Androidia. Each Corperation owns substantial funds, resources and military strength, making both the Ventari and EN turn to them for aid at some points.
The void of space is wild and unexplored in this distant galaxy, ready to be tamed by those pilots brave enough to arm themselves with a capable ship.
SO YEAH, SPACESHIPS EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!

Aside from that, its pretty cool But Earth was already losing resources, and the nations (in hteir greed) consumed too fast, basically strip mining everything, making much planet space ruined. PLOT DEVICE!!!!!

Come on man, use nationalism or something. also, it sorta sounds like Battlestar: Galactica. sorta well yeah, it s part nationalism as well. Each country is locked in a giant space race to gain the most resources, which leads to the overuse and eventual decline of space resources.
