Torran rested in his room. It was not quite evening yet, but he took the time to reflect on his situation. Not a few days ago he was still imprisoned in the Crystallus, along with Aev'Uldron Theska. Now he was the right-hand man of a powerful Time Wizard and had just secured an alliance with a equally powerful nation.
And yet, everything he did was for himself. Always had, always will. He traveled the World Nexus years ago, causing all sorts of problems for civilizations. Finally he had been apprehended and imprisoned in the Crystallus. His stay had been brief, rescued along with Theska by the Time Keeper. He owed him his life, but did not plan on repaying that debt.
Once the opportunity presented itself, he would take off again.
He had considered simply killing these fools and provoking a war between the Shadow and Chrono Empires. but then he had seen what fools he was dealing with.
He would wait.

"Sorry. I guess I've never been the most patient person..." Valsair chuckled. He adjusted his height to become eye level with the Time Keeper. "Anyway, I heard that you are one of this world's primary antagonists, but I hadn't seen you do anything truly destructive yet...I was wondering if you wouldn't mind...not being evil before you DO do something destructive?" laughed Valsair nervously in a halfhearted attempt.

The Time Keeper glanced at Theskas who only raised an eyebrow. He looked back at Valsair. "You must be new here," He began advancing on Valsair. "So I might be nice enough to let this slide, but" He paused chuckling softly to himself. "NO ONE gives me orders!
He stamped his hour-staff on the ground hard. Theska stood up and drew Sillamandaron. "Now, kindly leave." There was a sinister tone in his voice and a wild look in his eyes.

~Be brave Valsair...~ he thought, as memories of his father rushed through his head. "No." Valsair said firmly without hinting at his nervousness. "This world already has enough antagonists, and I know first hand the harm that befalls others at the hands of your type. In the name of justice, you must be defeated." Valsair sadly as he remembered crippling his father in a fit of rage.
Drawing Ascension, the Ascendent Blade, Valsair looked at his adversaries and said "You are evil, and evil is darkness, darkness which only Light can pierce through! Thunder Strike!" Valsair lowered himself to the bottom floor of the Clock Tower, and, raising his blade in the air, caused lightning to strike around the perimeter/circumference (I don't recall the actual shape) of the tower.

The Time Keeper smiled. "Oh look, he thinks a little light show is enough to intimidate us." He said, his voice thick with condescension. He readied his staff and prepared to confront Valsair.
Aev'Uldron Theska stopped him. "No, let me challenge him first." The Time Keeper gave his an inquisitive look. "Let's not let him see the full extent of our powers up front. Let's see his first." TK nodded in understanding.
In a flash of dark-light, Theska vanished before the Time Keeper and appeared near Valsair. Prepping Silamandaron, he shouted to Valsair. "Your light show does not impress me! Show me your power!"

Vin was in his room, modest and sparse just as all Shadow Hunters. He had been out training all day, with the rest of the Shadow Hunter acolytes. If Vin was human, he probably would have been around 20 years old, young for a shadow hunter.
Still, he had talent, Lord Xiffrin had even said so. Vin liked the life of a shadow hunter, quite, isolated and focused on skill and stealth.
Vin's thoughts drifted back to yesterday's meeting. That Torran fellow set Vin on edge. And when a shadow hunter was on edge, bodies started popping up.
Vin was jolted out of his thoughts by a knock on his door.
"Enter." he said tersly. He immediatly stood at attention when Xiffrin walked into the room.
"L-lord Xiffrin! What do you need sir?" he asked. Xiffrin gave him a cold look.
"At ease hunter. I have an assignment for you." he said. Vin nodded.
"Where to sir?"
"You have been reassigned to the Elite House." Xiffrin said emotionlessly. Vin stared in shock. He was being BUMPED out of the shadow hunters?? The elites were undeniably good, probably the best, but Vin loved his life in House zu Heltzic.
"S-sir?" he managed to croak out.
"It isn't permanent." Xiffrin said, reading his expression. "But Ouran is setting up an exploration squad and wants someone with a particular......skills to be present." he explained.
Vin nodded, both relieved that he would return to his life and proud that the House Lord had selected him.
"I shall prepare immediatly, m'lord." Vin said. Xiffrin nodded and began to leave the room.
"Report to the zu Jaimos House tomarrow." and with that, the Shadow hunter lord left. Vin began to gather his few belongings, most of which were his weapons.
"Short-blades, check.........throwing knives, check.......garrote wire.....check......hidden blade....check." he mentally went over his list. Satisfied, he began to meditate, focusing on the job to come.

Johnny and the Humors made camp. Still Vespi remained silent. Now even Johnny was worried about Vespi. He kept it to himself, but something about seemed...off.
Regardless, they built a fire and rested. Johnny couldn't sleep and offered first watch. He sat alone by the fire and examined the True Sword. It had changed. He couldn't quite point it out, but something about the True Sword was different. It felt different in his hand.
He sheathed the Sword and turned his thoughts to his emerging Dark powers. He knew that he had to gain control of them or they might overwhelm him.
He opened his palm and a dark flame materialized. He shaped it with his mind, making it grow taller, spread out and make shapes. The power quickly drained his energy. He cut off the dark flame.
Morning came quickly. He missed his home. He missed Sarah, and Cha Cha, even Narrator.
He also missed Cassandra.

"In the name of all that is good, you must be stopped!" Valsair exclaimed. Standing at the tower's bottom, Valsair let his sword dangle at his side for a moment as if he were pondering something. Lifting his sword into the air, Valsair yelled "Shining Slash!" Swinging his sword straight down, he sent a wave of lightning straight toward Theska, whose full name I don't have time to type.

Theska casually raised Sillanmandaron. The Rune Blade glowed and absorbed the electricity. Theka motioned with the blade as if to swipe away at something unseen.
"Is that your best?" The old man taunted. "I could conjure such charms when I was half your age!" He spun the Rune Blade in his hand, raised it over his head, and plunged it into the ground in front of him.
"Eruption!" The ground thrust upward beneath Valsair and a pillar of molten rock burst forth.

Valsair was burned by the molten rock but he refused to let that stop him. ~Ugh...This guy's been in the business for a long time...I don't think I'll be able to beat him. Did I really come all the way here just to fail?~ thought Valsair, panting a little. "You won't win!" Valsair yelled. His golden power inhibiting bracelets began to fade in color. "Magentic Force - Spirtual Slash!" Valsair said. Rapidly accelerating into the air using his boots, he lifted his sword behind his back and prepared to crash down upon Theska with his blade.

Sindri looked out over the village with distaste. He had been stationed here ever since the fight with Johnny and Iyephra....and he was sick of it!
The excevation teams had yeilded some results, getting deeper below the town, but the main power was still locked away.
Sindri began to wonder if it was really worth it. Still Zais would skin him alive and feed him to Samarillidom or worse....make him listen to Ouran's jokes! Sindri shuddered.
"Keep digging!" he shouted. Yet another boring day.

'Vespi' opened her eyes with a sense of finality.
It was time.
Johnny was on watch and the rest were asleep. 'Vespi' got out of bed and crept out intio the night, her eyes turning yellow in the darkness. She waved her arm and a small knife appeared out of the void, into her hand.
She began to creep up behind Johnny.
It was time.

"perhaps then I should take it upon myself."
No man would rather shake this earth then the one called upon himself. He is no mortal or mass this heaven could weigh.
"I'm intriqued. One way or another, this party will be mine to take over."
Puppetmon came out of no where and was like "lol this post makes no sense".

Theska raised Sillamandaron fast enough to parry Valsair's strike. The energy from the spirit sword and the Rune Blade exploded outward. The two were locked in a desperate duel. Their faces were so close they could feel each other's breath.
Both pushed will all their might, trying to force the other to yield, but neither would...

Johnny took out the Beauty Mirror and examined it, seeing if it had changed as well. He thought of the year it had been the Vanity Mirror, and wondered if it still retained some of that corruption inside it.
He tilted the mirror one direction and in its reflection was a horrid figure, one that Johnny had never seen before. It was holding a knife and advancing on Johnny.
Johnny whirled around, drawing Asamarum only to face...Vespi?
Johnny lowered his katana? "Vespi?" He asked bewildered. "Vespi is that you..." But then he saw the look in her eyes and knew at once.
It was not Vespi.

Valsair began to sweat as the energy radiated outward from the interlocked blades. ~I must stay strong...I can't allow this man to win!~ he thought. He focused what was left of his strength into pushing his blade and its energy toward Theska in an attempt to defeat him.

Theska smiled. The Runes on Sillamandaron began to glow, first faintly, then a bright neon green.
The Runes were siphoning Valsair's power!
Theska felt his strength increase and began to force Valsair back...

Valsair panted and winced as he began to be forced back by Theska. ~What? Is he...?~ Valsair thought. He felt that Theska was becoming stronger and he was correct in his assumption. ~That sword of his...It can absorb my attacks...and I'm losing energy fast...But if I don't win this struggle, then this world is doomed.~ Valsair thought, struggling to stand up. "I'm...gonna..." Valsair said before he went unconscious, still standing up. As his consciousness faded from him, a memory came to the front of his mind. His bracelets began to change from gold to black and his pupils began to turn white.
"I CAN'T LET YOU WIN!" Valsair said as his body erupted into a vortex of energy. His blade, Ascension, changed into a blinding sword of light, his hair spiked up, and electric sparks crackled around his arms. This new being release a surge of energy into his sword, able to withstand Theska's rune blade.

The energy surge threw Theska back several feet. He maintained his balance and asses this new threat. Valsair had changed, he was different. The calm and collected individual who first challenged him was no more, he was replaced with something...different.
Theska began chanting under his breath. The stored energy in Sillamandaron, flowed out into him. He made several signs with his hands.
"Chakkram number six!" He extended his hand and a blast of energy shot forth. It manifested as a fireball sped towards Valsair.

"Hmph." the new figure said as the fireball approached him. "Blade of Spirit, Ascension...Shining Surge!" he yelled. Jumping into the air just before the fireball came. Landing back on the ground, he stabbed his sword into the earth, sending lightning through the ground in all directions outward from him.
