I won't say no. But like I said. Depends on the fiction.

Let me be the first to point out that if it isn't fantasy, fiction or some sort of non-fictionesque fiction, I'll be terrible at it. For all my math and science skills, I CAN'T DO SCIENCE FICTION. I'll end up spending 9000 hours researching how plausible so-and-so weapon is IRL and end up never writing anything.

Ok, so here's an idea I've been kicking around for about five or six weeks. The setting can be ignored (because I don't have one).
There are a group of nine or ten people - I can't remember - called the Faded. These people have all traded something about themselves for power and (maybe) immortality. The immortality thing is up in the air because of one the possible ways I was going to take this. In fact, a character design involved a man who actually gave up death, but that's a different story.
Anyway, these people have been granted powers like phasing (fasing; like Faded) across long distances, improved physical strength, durability, and reflexes. In addition, each Faded is given a Fade Weapon, unique to their person. What makes these weapons special is the way in which they are summoned: the Faded holds a part of the incomplete weapon with them at all times and then makes the rest.
It's a little hard to understand on an abstract basis, so I'll use an example, the first one I came up with actually.
Steven. Steven gave up his memories, therefore, he has no knowledge of his life before his life as a Faded. His Fade Weapon is a sword. He carries with him the hilt of the sword. Just the hilt. When he wants to call his weapon, he slams the hilt (the part where there would normally be a blade) against his closed fist and makes like he is drawing a sword from a scabbard.
Or another example.
There's a girl who gave up her ability to age, leaving her perpetually twelve or thirteen. Her Fade Weapon is a spear. She carries around a fountain pen. When she wants her spear, she takes it in both hands and extends it.
I've got a bunch of these characters. The point is that they all gave up something that they thought they wouldn't miss, but end up regretting it. This definitely plays into my love of irony.
What do you guys think? I can put all of the other characters up here if you want - some of them have interesting weapons and ways of calling them, and some of their Sacrifices are really cool.

Unfortunately I left the list of names at my house, so most of them will be nameless or named incorrectly. I'll try and get Ashley to email it to me later.
anyway, in no particular order:
Steven: Fade Sword man
Milly/Lilly(?): Loli Fade sword girl
there's a guy (I'm failry certain it is) who gave up the ability to feel pain. His Fade Weapon is something that I'm calling the Face Claws. They are claws that extend out from the tips of his fingers. Think Sabertooth from X-Men. He calls out these weapons by dragging his fingers across a surface - usually a wall, but he sometimes drags them across his chest for maximum effect.
There's a girl (well, woman) who gave up the ability to multitask. That is, she can only focus on one task at a time. Her Fade Weapon in the Fade Bow. She calls this by taking the ribbon that ties back her hair and grasping one end in each hand. She then brings her hands together as closed fists and then drags them apart in a long arc, making the bow; the ribbon becomes the string. Her single-mindedness makes her and excellent shot.
There's a man who gave up empathy - so he would no longer feel guilt for killing. His weapon is a double blade axe. Usually, the axe is in the form of his walking stick, but when he wants to call it, he grips opposite side of the top and yanks the blades into existence.
There's another girl (I think its a girl) who gave up the ability to tell the truth. All she can do is tell lies - although she can tell the truth in riddles. Her weapon is a chain-blade. Normally, it takes the form of a pocket watch. To call it out, she swings the watch until the chain extends and sharpen into blades. Her original weapon was a scythe that formed out of the hands of the clock, but I gave the scythe to another character. If I end up not using him, she gets the scythe again.
There's a man who gave up the ability to speak - actually, he cannot make any noise at all. He did this in order to become a better assassin. His weapons are Fade Knives. He has five rings that pierce through both of his lips, essentially keeping mouth permanently closed. To draw his knives, he tugs on the rungs in his mouth, pulling the knives out of his face. Normally he uses only two at a time, but he can use up to five.
there's a girl who gave up the ability to quit. This is different from Archer girl. Archer-girl can switch targets (focus) at will, but can only focus on one at a time. This girl can have many goals, but ultimately she has to complete them. Has to. Even if she wants to quit. Her weapons are simply: arm and leg guards. She calls them by swiping her hands over her arms and legs.
the last one is Ronan Quisling. Ronan gave up loyalty. His weapons are Fade Guns, which he calls by making the "gun figure" with you hands - you know the one - and putting them into his holsters. Then drawing them out - the guns materialize then.
OK: technically, there is one other. He gave up death. His weapon is a scythe. I might not use him, depending on how it goes.
The idea is that at the time, the person would give up something they wanted to be rid of, but later they would realize they need it i.e. memories, aging, speaking, etc. The Death guy is a subversion of the idea that people who can't die desire death: he enjoys not being able to die, even though his fellow Faded have varying degrees with which they struggle with their own Sacrifices.

DEATH GUY SOUNDS LIKE A PRO. AND I MUST WONDER WHY ANYONE WOULD SACRIFICE LOYALTY OR THE ABILITY TO MULTITASK...And I must wonder why anyone would want to feel pain again.

A. Death-man IS a pro.
2. The character's Sacrifice had to do with their pasts. Steven, for example did a lot of things he wasn't proud of in his life, and wanted to forget them. But after he forgot them, he also forgot why he wanted to forget them, so now he wants to remember. Ronan giving up loyalty allows him to be free to travel anywhere he wants. He isn't tied down morally or otherwise to any one person or location. Obviously, Archer-lady either had trouble focusing her attention, or she simply felt doing so would benefit her in the long run. In truth, she doesn't really regret it that much.
III. Cat-claws thought that Sacrificing pain would allow him to enjoy battle more. He's something of a berserker blood knight. Without being held back by pain, he was free to go all-out in battle. But without the pain, he finds something is lacking in battle. There's no thrill in it anymore - for him at least. He's on the lesser end of the spectrum of regret, as he still enjoys battles, but he does lament the loss of feeling. Sometime he cuts himself with his claws in an attempt to fell pain.

Really, I hadn't planned on there being more than nine characters. The Scythe man was added as an antagonist/boss man to the other Faded. But he is/was supposed to remain a shadowy figure for a bit. As was Ronan, actually. Having no loyalty, Ronan doesn't even stay with the other Faded, which creates an even number of males and females - not an accident on my part. I mean, if you can come up with more Faded with unique Sacrifices and weapons, I wouldn't turn them away. But I thought it through, and really couldn't dredge up anymore weapons that were cool. Without making shit up. Sacrifices as well.

Guy who gives up sadness. He regrets it cause happiness loses meaning. Uses a halbred. Its a walking stick that he slams to the ground and when he pulls the stick up the blade is there.
Girl who gives up frustration. Uses needles. Made from her own hair.

Note: let's try and avoid using all of the emotions. Sure they sound cool, but after while it gets boring. Think of creative Sacrifices (like my Speaking and Multitasking)
NOT SAYING YOURS SUCK WES I WOULD NEVER SAY THAT

GUY WHO GIVES UP FAITH/HOPE/BELIEF/WHATEVER SO HE CAN RELY ON LOGIC AND LOGIC ALONE TO MAKE ALL HIS DECISIONS. Weapon is necklace with a cross shaped (FOR THAT EXTRA BIT OF IRONY) charm on it. He can snatch the charm from the necklace, enclose it in his hand, and when he opens his hand IT'S A FUCKING GIANT SHURIKEN.

Ok
does he regret his decision? Because the point is that they usually end up regretting their Sacrifice to an extent

OF COURSE HE DOES. I would imagine that logic alone without hope would drive a man into depression because he can never hope for the best or believe that things could get better in the end after suffering through some terrible situation. He could only deduce the most logical thing that could happen to him. IT'D BE LIKE iROBOT OR HAL 9000, EXCEPT THIS PURELY LOGIC BEING IS STILL HUMAN AND HAS EMOTION.

I will make up two more if I must.
IN FACT
I WILL
FOR OLD TIMES SAKE
Girl gives up her sense of taste. She eats a lot because she misses the taste of food. She doesn't know why she gave up the sense of taste. She uses a very large serrated knife. Its made from a stone that she bites. After she bites it the stone warps into a knife. (Trolololol I don't even.)
Guy gives up his Identity so that he could become a new person. He can't gain an identity now and uses a large studded club. The club is made when he head butts something. The clubs material is always the material of what he headbutted.

A girl who was once upon a time super vain and only cared about herself, so she sacrifices her selfishness, becoming totally selfless. In the end, however, she realizes that some degree of selfishness/arrogance/caring about herself is necessary, because she keeps getting taken advantage of. Her weapon is a slightly-too-large ring she wears on her left ring finger, and when she spins it around it becomes a drill lance like weapon that covers her hand.

The Sacrifice is (well, was intended) to be something the person wished he/she didn't have anymore at the time, and for the life of me I can't puzzle that one out. Second: The club. There's...not even...just out of the head?
