A GUY WHO SACRIFICES HIS VAST FORTUNE SO HE CAN LIVE AMONG COMMONERS AND THE WEALTH CAN BE SPREAD AROUND EQUALLY. AND THEN HE REALIZES THAT COMMUNISM DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY LOL. HIS WEAPON IS THE SOVIET FLAG, FROM WHICH HE CAN PRODUCE AN ACTUAL HAMMER AND SICKLE. THERE. DERRICK'S CHARACTER IS DONE. funny I'm more ambitious than that. Besides, I know a better way to promote the common good. There is a Faded spoken of only in riddles and half secrets. None no his name, save the ones he's marked for consumption. He gave up no personality trait, no emotion, nah. He gave up his soul. When he dies, he will cease to exist, but this also means that he is no pawn of anyone. However, his body still needs a soul, so he gets one by consuming others. He has a pretty big appetite though. He loves to eat the souls of madmen, eldritch abominations, and perhaps one day, Death. He is perhaps the sole human being who understands how the world truly works, and he wants it to either stay that way, or make it better. Anti-Villain I guess.

Oh yeah, needs a weapon.
Seeing as how there's more than just one type of sword, he uses a Katana (Cause they're always better.)
Now he always keeps his left arm under his clothes. Why? Cause there's a hilt sticking out of his elbow. He rips the sword out of himself in order to use it. But here's the clincher, he never uses it. He would much rather use his fists.

I would actually like to be useful. I would like to submit a formal request that someone pinch me so that I may ascertain that the above statement is not just some cruel trick my mind has decided to play upon me.

It all suddenly made sense. The mysterious Game Master of Synapse is really Death, who got bored one day and decided to screw with some people from a different world by bringing them into the city of Synapse.

Katana is taken. You can probably come up with something more befitting an eldritch abomination.
Um.
Why did he give up his soul? That part doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Death approaches them when their at the peak of despair or self loathing or whatever and promises to make that part of them disappear, so that it won't bother them anymore. Giving up your soul really doesn't make any sense...because they don't know that its actually Death.
Damn it. Derrick, you're guy was perfect for the Faded that Death would use to claim the God Kings, until you said he's not a pawn.
I mean, you understand how it works, right? The God Kings are actually doing a damn fantastic job of ruling the world, and that the Faded (and by extension Death) are going to fuck everything up, right? Because, see, Death only made Faded out of those who were already societal outcasts. People with a reason, good or not, to want to see the God Kings dethroned.
Ronan is really the only one not constantly with the Faded because his Sacrifice was his Loyalty, so he can't/won't/doesn't have to feel any attachment to one side.
Your guy... I don't know.

Here's the thing, 1) He's not a true faded. His state was created via artificial means. 2) He works for the God-Kings. He is actively opposed to destroying societal structure (unless destroying it will make it better), and seeks to destroy the faded ones. 3) And he gave up his soul knowing that if he succeeds, humanity will stumble into a utopia. 4) Replacing the katana with a Bisento.

Very, very nice. the God Kings are now spitting in Death's face (according to Death). I would imagine that, when he emerges onto the scene, he would be something of a main villain. Ronan would probably encounter him the most... Oh, can he not appear until partway into the story? He just appears as a villain almost like the Faded, and they don't understand, but investigate and shit. P.S. Working titles: Fade. or. Vox Mortis (voice of death) P.P.S. I want Death to win out in this
