GOLDBEZ DROPPED THE HAPLESS OTHER GUY AND SWAGGERED AWAY.
Stella rocked her head back and forth. "Sooo~ooo, now that we are an official team, our first order of business should be to decide what we do next! Any ideas?"

"Turn random critters into vampires and then release them on an unsuspecting world!" Azzi offered excitedly.

Stella seriously considered this. "Sounds like fun, Vamp, but we should save that for when we really need it." The UFO buzzed around the open area that was once a bar. "I was thinking of something more...adventurey."
~~~~~
Far away from Dynasty City, across the Uncharted Mountains, in the abandoned structure that was once the headquarters of Organization XXI, Knox appeared. He gave the building a nostalgic once-over before snapping his fingers. The building around him began to age at an accelerated pace. At first it went unnoticed, but then as the proverbial years passed, it started to rust. Finally the entire place crumbled to dust.
He snapped his fingers again. Before him, a portal opened, one cleared of interference by the PFG. It expanded, growing in height as well as width. From a distance it looked as if the world was giving birth. Eventually, the Clock Tower stood in all its glory.
Theska stumbled out of the entrance, desperately trying to hold in his lunch. "Never do that again."
~~~~~
Deep in the rolling, psychedelic hills of Groovy Land, stood the Tower of Science! And in that Tower, lived Bill Nye the Science Guy, and his assistance, Hermit.
Thus far, Bill had been watching the events in Dynasty City with a mild, passing interest.
"Oh dear," he muttered to himself. "Hermit, prepare some tea...OF SCIENCE; we're going to have guests soon, in the form of Aurora Veralice and Chancellor Awesome."

It was then that Cale noticed Xanthos. "Hey!" he exclaimed, "You're that weird hooded guy!" By this point, Xanthos's cloak had inexplicably regained its hood, and his face was once again obscured. Without warning, Cale shot forward and drew his swords, holding them at Xanthos' neck with the blades intersecting to form an X with Xanthos' throat just past the intersection.
"What was that green stuff you gave me? And, more importantly, where is my father???" When Cale had woken up in what was left of the hotel, Mr. Efrun had been nowhere in sight.
Xanthos shrugged and said calmly, "I'm afraid I can't give you any information on the Powder. It's top secret, you see. As far as your dad, he was gone when I took you into the hotel. You know, after you passed out like a drunken idiot in the middle of the street. Maybe he got scared during the Kraken's attack and ran away, leaving you for dead."
With a deadly glare, Cale growled through clenched teeth, "He would never do that!"
Xanthos shrugged again and said, "Well, you never know. I honestly don't care, so you go ahead and think what you want. Oh, and one more thing." He grinned widely. "You're going to have to be A LOT faster if you want to try and intimidate me."
An instant later, Cale's swords flew out of his hands and he was lying on his stomach, with Xanthos sanding with one foot on top of the older boy, his own sword drawn and an inch from the back of Cale's neck.

"DE-CAP-I-TATE!" GOLDEBZ CHANTED. "FINISH HIM!"
Stella somehow ended up as the moderator in this situation and buzzed over to Xanthos. "Please don't kill other guy, Spikey-hair. We need him if Team Friendship is to be complete!" She started tearing up and snuffling.
"DE-CAP-I-TATE! DE-CAP-I-TATE!"

"Let me have a taste first!" Azzi said, stepping forward and grinning toothily. Which showed off some rather impressive fangs. "I'm starving after living off of nothing but squirrels for the last two pages."

Xanthos frowned, annoyed. "I have no intention of killing him. Unfortunately, my master wants him kept alive." He Stepped back from Cale and sheathed his sword. The latter sprang up and retrieved his weapons, then turned to face Xanthos, trying to decide if he should attack. Ignoring the obvious hostility, Xanthos went on to say, "And I told you earlier- I have no interest in this team of yours."
In the blink of an eye, he moved from the wreckage of the bar to to the the roof of a badly damaged building farther down the street. With his cloak blowing in the wind in an incredibly overdramatic fashion, he called back to the others, "I may not be joining your pointless team, but I can assure you this isn't the last time you'll see me. I'll always be watching... from the shadows." With that, he vanished into thin air.
After a few seconds of silence, Cale spoke, "Who the fiz was that asshole?"

"QUITE POSSIBLY THE MOST BADASS DUDE I HAVE EVER MET. ASIDE FROM MYSELF OF COURSE." GOLDBEZ FLEXED, CAUSING A SONIC BOOM.
Stella spun around in the air. "I call him Spikey-hair. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

MBF, still keeping her cool, seemed unaffected by all of this chaos. Pulling a lasso out of thin air, she began spinning it and asked "Shall I catch him?"

"Chancellor?" Aurora asked.
"Yes, Aurora?"
"Why are we skipping when I have the power to teleport us there?" Aurora noticed that they were still skipping all the way to Groovy Land, the Tower of Science looming in the distance.
"I...have no idea." Chancellor Awesome had been enjoying the skipping too much to notice how ineffective a means of travel it was.
Shaking her head, Aurora raised her sceptre in the sky, and with an audible WHOOSHWRPZZZBZZT she and the Chancellor appeared right in front of Bill Nye in the Tower of Science.
"Good evening, Bill." they said in unison.

Bill didn't even bat an eyelash at the sudden appearance of Chancellor Awesome and Aurora Veralice. He simply kept on tinkering with his newest invention.
"Good evening, Empress. Chancellor. How may I help you this fine afternoon?"
~~~~~
Stella rocked back and forth on her UFO. "Nah. Let Spikey-hair go. He'll come back to us eventually. Once he realizes how awesome we are." She grinned, showing teeth.
GOLDBEZ RAISED A HAND. I VOTE WE HAVE A TALENT COMPETITION. AND I NOMINATE MYSELF THE WINNER. BOY, WASN'T THAT A BLAST?"
MBF, who had been standing on top of a giant ball while using a hula hoop and juggling spiked balls that were on fire as soon as Goldblez named the competition, looked saddened when he named himself the winner. "I...didn't win?"
I had gotten no cases that day. No missing persons, no stolen goods, no cheating lovers, no kittens stuck in a tree. Business was as slow as ever like the pizza joint down the road on Tuesdays. What's a man like me supposed to do if there's no work flowing in for me to do? Sure, I had my own cases to investigate, but the lack of finance was a bit of a downer. A pristine office like mine needed money to keep it up. Everything was practically an antique. It took a lot of work to keep them looking worn and broken.
"Ah!" CRASH
My eyes dart to the sound as fast as a hungry cobra's fangs only to be melted by the heat of the sun. Lying on the floor, her rear in the air and in full view, was my assistant, Toots. She had tripped or something while organizing no doubt, and it resulted with her and whatever she had been carrying splayed out on the floor. I rushed up immediately, being the gentleman I am, to help her. "Damn, Toots, how can you stand with those sticks of yours?"
Toots looked up at me, and I saw stars. That innocent twinkle in her eye was enough to melt the poles. "Oh, I'm sorry, Mr. Galager. I didn't mean to trip. I was only trying to sort some of your files."
I grabbed her arms and hoisted her up. She was just up to my chin in height and had to tilt her head back to look at me. "Listen, doll, you know you can call me Jack. You've worked with me for a while now. We're practically partners!"
"Sorry, Mr. Gala-er-Jack. Sorry, Jack." Toots smiled a bit.
"That's better, girly. Say, our business is going pretty slow. Whaddya say we wet our whistles a bit? I'm buying." Generous, I know, but hey, I'm a gentleman remember?
Toots looked nervous all of a sudden, nearly blushing, which isn't hard to make her do. Her cheeks lit faster than a traffic light. "Oh, no, I couldn't, Mr. Ga- I mean- Jack. I mean...I...uh..."
"It's a date then. Come on, doll, you've gotta let loose every once in a while. Don't let yourself stay cooped up in here. I know it's like the Taj Mahal in here, but even that must get stuffy sometimes, eh Toots?" I hooked my arm around hers, guiding her like a puppy on a leash out of the office.
"I guess so, Jack. I could use a break?"
"That's it, baby doll! Everyone needs one every once in a while."
Once the small talk was out of the way, I began leading her down the street to a little pub I've become a frequent at. It was nice and cheap, like a prostitute in the slums, but the pub was much nicer, I promise. No bugs there, or at least none you could see.
The air before Jack and Toots crackled with energy. It was like a lightning storm in miniature. Electricity radiated out from a single, infinitesimal point that expanded to a roughly human sized sphere. The whiteness turned translucent and a pair of voices could be heard.
"Whoops."
"Elberich...I told you to check your formulas."
"I did! I swear...oh..."
"What is it?"
"Heh. Forgot to carry the one."
"..."
The translucent barrier caved inward.
"Well, I'd say we're fizzed."
It rebounded like a trampoline, catapulting two robe-clad individuals onto the street. One looked about teenaged, and the other was significantly older.
"My apologies, master Dietrich," the younger muttered.
"It is no matter, Elberich. We got somewhere..." The portal behind them closed with a dim belching sound. "You two," he said to Jack and Toots. "Mind tell us where we have ended up?"
Toots stood slightly behind me, probably startled by the sudden burst. Though when you live in Awesome Land, that's something you get used to. "You're in Awesome Land, gramps. In the slums to be a little more accurate. What are you two doing here?"
"Ah, well, marvelous then." Dietrich dusted himself off.
"See," Elberich protested. "I got us where we needed to go."
"Yes, yes. All well and good. Thank you, my friend," he said to Jack. "My name is Dietrick Lehrer. This is my apprentice, Elberich Ritter."
"The name's Jack, and this here is Toots." I grabbed her arm and pulled her forward. She stumbled a bit but caught herself before she embarrassed herself. She blushed a little.
"Nice to meet you two." She smiled.
"The slums of Awesome Land..." Elberich looked around, mildly curious. "Guess that explains the look."
"Be silent," Dietrich warned. "Tell me, Jack, are we anywhere near Dynasty City? Or have we emerged elsewhere within the land?"
I raised an eyebrow. Really, you'd think people would watch where they were going. They don't want to end up in places like the slums. "You're in it, or at least a part of it. It's a pretty big apple, you know?"
