A Shadow Ambipom grabbed Wes and threw him and Aero out of the airship

The Hydro Pump did little more than douse the Shadow Aerodactyl. Its closed heart granted it far reaching abilities. Metal glinted in the sunlight, and the corrupt Pokémon collided with the Salamence in a devestating Steel Wing.

"Oh? More of you?" Yolanda sneered at Irene and Usteph. More quick motions brought out Shadow [Weavile] and Ursula [Honchkrow] to join Cerberus [Houndoom].
Peter stepped back warily. this wasn't going the way he thought it would. He was supposed to prevent the theft, but...
Before a battle could commence, Yolanda answered a call from Eric. "Sorry, kids, looks like I have to cut this short." Her Pokémon returned, and she hopped into a basket that pulled her up. As she ascended, she dropped a firecracker. The airship pulled away and the firecracker exploded in the air above the remains of the big top: EX CINIS CINERIS

Archie flew into Tyler's arms from the Rollout. He was done, beaten. And so was Tyler. All his Pokémon were knocked out by Kaz. "Good job", he whispered to the Growlithe, and, for the first time in a long time, put Archie away in a Poké Ball. Without a word, he turned to leave the Gym.
"Hey, wait a minute!" Kaz called. "You forgot something!"
Tyler turned around to be met with a shining Mirror Badge. "But," he stammered. "But I... I lost..."
"So? You didn't think we'd give out Badges solely for beating a Gym Leader did you?"
"Well, I..."
"That would kinda defeat the purpose of having Gym Leaders, wouldn't it? If anyone could beat them?"
"Uh, yeah... I guess..."
"Well, take it. You earned it." Tyler took the badge. "You fought well and trusted your Pokémon. That's what earning a badge is about. In fact, I've refused badges to Trainers who actually beat me, but only because they pushed their Pokémon too far."
Tyler thanked him repeatedly until Kaz basically pushed him out - with a smile. He stopped off in the Pokémon Center afterward, and saw an interesting news story about a circus...

Nicole marched up the trail towards Lavatown. She had succeded in catching the Flareon, and she had named him Flamethrower. He now walked beside her, perfectly healed by her potions, alongside Edana and Bronco. When she reached the town, one of the Fire Fighter's officers (the one I can't remember the name of....) ran to her and told her about the circus. "What?" she said, "Why would they rob a circus."
She followed him back to the Fire Fighter's headquarters, just a house, and watched the news, huddled with the others.

Aero regained balance and caught Wes. They slowly glided to the ground, and as they did so Wes looked up to catch a glimpse of the old Phoenix member.

"Phibeus! Come down here and Roost!" He looks really bad after that Steel Wing. Whatever that Pokemon is, I do not like it. Any normal Aerodactyl would have been easily knocked out!
Phibeus briskly glided to the ground, seeking the healing power of a nice Roost.

Phoenix got away.
Tyler watched in disbelief as the Phoenix airship vanished on the news. "How...? How? Why?" He noticed he was standing and others were staring at him. Apparently, he had been shouting.

The members of the Fire Fighter's club were outraged. John, the head officer of the club, jumped out of his seat and yelled at the tv. "That's impossible! How could this happen?"
Nicole struggled to get off the coach along with the other seven members that were crammed onto it. They all finally managed to escape, but were tossed onto the floor. They instantly got up and started to shout as well. Nicole remained silent, staring at the screen. No....not again....they can't come back again....We nearly lost last time.

"Why what?"
A soft, bubbly voice called behind Tyler. A young girl stood at the doorway of whatever place they were in. She had light orange hair pulled into pigtails and a cap over her head. She also wore a vest and a wrap over her bathing suit. Her socks went up to her ankles and an Azumaril bounced at her side.
Janie smiled and awkwardly waved, noticing that she had come at a bad time.

"Uh..." Tyler turned, ready to shout again, but stopped short when he saw Janie. He had to take a moment to form a coherent thought. It was made even more difficult once he saw she was still wearing her bathing suit. "Hey, uh, Janie." He smiled awkwardly before continuing. "Oh, um... It was uh.. Phoenix! Yeah, they showed up at the circus just a little bit ago. In Ipronen City. They kidnapped the main attraction: Leamnin."

Janie's smile suddenly faded and she stepped up to where Tyler was standing. She leaned over to glance at the tv and was shocked to see the headlines. Mary, her azumaril, bounced uncomfortably beside her. Mary obviously remembered Team Phoenix from before. Janie's expression suddenly went grim as she realized what had happened.
When she had left Roi Rill, she hadn't really stopped to look at the news. She had seen flyers about the circus, but she hadn't heard any news about Team Phoenix. "We have to do something! We could join up with Wes and the others again!"

Calfrun got back to Phoenix's HQ at the same time as the airship. He looked over at Eric, Yolanda and the others.
"I trust you completed your mission?" He called to them.

Cell charged up again and then blasted water at the nearest Pokémon, a Flareon. The Flareon died. Then the Charmander next to it died. Then the Magby next to it. Everyone died. Then a Pikachu used Thunderbolt on Cell, and Cell died. Then Michael gave up and ran away. Eric ran from the Pokémon Center screaming because he was on fire. PFG appeared out of nowhere and hugged Eric, joining in his flaming hysteria. Eric died. Michael got caught by a flying piece of burning PokéMart and died. Everyone died. Novien died.
The attack was successful.

(Zac, I'm overruling your last two posts in an attempt to revive Novien again. Calefrun's comment at Phoenix HQ remains the same, but Eric is still at the circus.)
Eric reached inside his jacket and pulled a small flashlight from an inner pocket. He signaled Renegade [Sableye], who was still on the roof of the Dome, with three flashes of the light. Having worked out the plan beforehand, Renegade immediately understood the signal and proceeded to unleash a devastating Confuse Ray within the Dome. Due to a convenient plot twist that I was somehow able to see myself using in the future, Eric's sunglasses prevented the Confuse Ray from working on him. With the audience left confounded, the lone Phoenix leader tossed a Pokéball, releasing Haydn, his Hypno, into the ring in the center of the Dome as Renegade jumped down to land at his trainer's side. Casually reversing his jacket to reveal the signature red and black colors of Team Phoenix, Eric tucked his hat away in his pocket, handed a pair of sunglasses to Renegade, and called down to Haydn, "Let's make this quick so we can get out of here. Yolanda is bound to be getting impatient at HQ. Hypnosis!"
Renegade slipped on his sunglasses just as Haydn's pendulum began to swing back and forth, sending waves of energy pulsing out into the stands. As the pandemonium from Renegade's Confuse Ray subsided, a new confusion filled the audience. A strange peace filled the Dome; actions slowed, eyelids drooped, and in a matter of seconds, the entire Dome was packed with the unconscious victims of the Phoenix raid.
Pressing another button on his collar, Eric spoke, his voice filling the Dome.
"Thank you all for attending the 'fabulous Red Sun Circus,'" he said in a mocking tone, imitating the voice of the TV advertiser for the circus. "We hope you enjoyed the show, but now, sadly, we must cut our performance short. As you exit the building, please check around your seat and collect your belongings. Please leave your memories of this incident at the door, and we hope to see you again. Until next time, adieu, from Team Phoenix!"
Haydn returned to his Pokéball, and Wraith, Eric's shiny green Dusclops, took his place next to Eric and put a hand on his shoulder. Satisfied with their handiwork, Eric snapped his fingers to awaken the audience, immediately disappearing into the ground with his two ghostly assistants.
