"General...I am your commander, and I will not have another word of this. Her Majesty couldn't care less about how things are accomplished, so long as they are." Laurine began with a villainous smirk, recalling that they were on a giant floating island in the sky. "You are hereby discharged from the Awesome Land Imperial Army for the crime of treason. Your punishment...Execution by firing squad. Assuming you survive this, of course." The Guardian smiled and with a level of rapidity unheard of she pushed Bara, watching as he teetered on the edge of Super Land, hoping that he would fall completely to his doom below.
While waiting for him to drop to his demise, she walked up to Typhos, noticing his loyalty despite the claimed cruelness of her orders. "You there! You are hereby promoted to General to take the place of our traitor who shall be executed momentarily. You will gain control of any of his soldiers and other duties. Carry on." she announced, watching the Super Land citizens cower in fear and walking away to check on Bara.

Cybele walked on ahead of them, towards the nearest exit. She looked back slightly. "You've caught on, have you?"

"General!" Touleint rushed over and pulled his commander back from falling.
~~~~~~
"Grr. Struck-up... entitled...mouthy..." Carter uttered a few more things Trey could not hear, and several he wished he hadn't as he was led out of the courtroom.
Galiana awoke with a gasp. She was sitting upright in her bed in her room. She looked to her side and saw Thomas asleep. What happened? She winced as she tried to get up. She was sore from being tossed around by Phiros. Oh, that's right. The mines...then where is?
She slowly got out of bed and tip toed down the stairs. Her father, or any other of his soldiers, were nowhere to be seen. She looked out the window and didn't see any of them on their daily patrol. She saw someone walking by, and she called out to them in her quiet voice. "Excuse me? Excuse me, sir?"
Some how, he heard her. "Yeah? What can I do for you?"
"Do you know what happened to the soldiers who patrol these streets?"
"Um, I think they went off with a Guardian on some special meeting or something. Just normal stuff."
Galiana sighed and thanked him. She grabbed her cloak, put it around her shoulders, and walked off towards the palace. She wished she could go find him, but she had duties to fulfill. She would see him later.
------------------------
General Bara grunted as he tried to hold himself up. He had managed to grab onto some of the rock that was off the side of the floating city. He barely hung there, but he was alive. He didn't dare look down. Even some of the strongest soldiers could have their morale shrink with this height. He simply inched his hand towards the edge until it was in range of another. He quickly reached for it and struggled to keep his balance as he hung on. He continued to reach up for more ledges until he was nearly to the top. He paused, listening to the voices above him. He heard screaming, shooting, and fast footsteps, like those who were running away...or chasing. He winced when he pictured some of his soldiers chasing after the inhabitants.
He heard some of the sounds quiet, and he figured they had moved on to other parts of the city. He reached up for the edge that he had been pushed off of and lifted his head to look. He saw no one and slowly began to pull himself up.
(Oh......just pretend Toulient helped Bara up after he climbed up...I don't really want to rewrite it.)
Cybele called back to Carter. Her hearing had become excellent after hunting for nearly all her life. "Hey, I'm letting you out of this hell hole. Be happy about it."
She approached the barrior's wall where two soldiers stood. They backed down when they saw she was a Guardian and she told them they had permission to pass. She opened it...somehow...and she stood beside it, mockingly gesturing towards it like a magician's assistant.
((What a lovely description of near-death falling.))
Laurine left Typhos just in time to see Touleint help Bara from certain death. "Acting as an accomplice to a criminal, one guilty of treason no less! It is clear that recruits for the ALIA should be more wisely chosen." Laurine laughed and shook her head disapprovingly toward the two.
She pointed at Touleint and said "Shall I discharge you from the army as well for the same reason? I would love to see two executions in one day." She laughed giddily and clapped her hands.
Carter squinted. "Oh, you want us gone, like out of your hair," he said as though it had just occurred to him. "Well, tough luck, sister, I ain't leaving."
He snapped his fingers. The two wolves sprang to battle mode, flanking him as he casually walked in the complete other direction. He made a V with his fingers and called back, "Peace."
~~~~~~~~~
"Go ahead and discharge me," Touleint challenged. "But I won't become a murderer."
He turned to his former commander.
"General Bara, sir. Are you alright?"

"Ah, such insolence..." Laurine smirked and said the same thing to Touleint. "You are hereby discharged from the Awesome Land Imperial Army for the crime of treason! I'm not going to push you off the edge, oh no...Both of you shall be killed by your fellow soldiers right now." Laurine laughed and called the rest of the troops out. "You say you don't want to become a murderer? Well, now you have little choice. You will have to attempt to fight back, be killed by the soldiers, or fall to your doom. Make your choice."

Cybele frowned, but didn't move. She merely called out in a sweet voice "Oh, so you're staying? You really want to be cooped up here? Trapped here? This is your chance to leave, and you're passing it up?"
She slowly took her pistols from their holsters unoticed. "If you're given an oppurtunity, take it."
She fired at both wolves, hearing them whimper as they were hit.
---------------------
Bara nodded, gasping for breath. "Yes, lad, thank you. You were always a good soldier, as well as a good friend."
He stood and looked towards the soldiers. "Men...If you want to live, then shoot me. Shoot your general. Shoot the man who has commanded you, even in Leon's army. Shoot me. Do it."

"Fenrir! Frigga!" Carter fell to his knees beside the injured wolves. Anger flooded his mind and clouded his thoughts. He stared at Cybele suddenly. "You bitch!" He dug out a dagger and stomped toward her, staring down her guns.
A hand tugged firmly on his shoulder. It was Trey. "Let go of me you-!" His words were cut short when Trey punched him hard in the stomach. Carter doubled over to recover his lost wind. Trey remained over him. Dust whipped up around them and the wolves, obscuring Cybele's vision. When it cleared, they were gone.
~~~~~~
"What was that for?" Carter demanded in a croaking voice as he began to recover.
"You were going to get yourself killed," Trey answered not looking over his shoulder. "She had firearms; you had a knife. Not good odds. Besides, they'll live." He meant the wolves.
"They-they will?" Carter's voice softened.
Trey held out two bloody bullets. "Yup. They didn't penetrate very deep; I don't think she meant to kill them. In any case, they will be fine in two or three days."
And then I work on getting my revenge Carter added silently.
Laurine raised her hands menacingly in front of the soldiers, her sharp, claw like nails capable of rending even the toughest of flesh. She intended to execute any more disobedient soldiers personally.
"Orders are orders..." came a few mumbles from the soldiers, and they reluctantly loaded their guns, aimed them at Bara and Touleint, and fired. A few ran away and closed their eyes, and Laurine swooped toward these runners to deliver her version of justice.
Cybele sighed and placed her guns back in their holsters. She closed the barrior and saw that the guards were staring at her in shock. "Tch, what are you looking at?"
She turned to go, slightly smiling as she went. She hadden't shot an animal in a while. It gave her a sense of adreneline, a sense of adventure. She liked the feeling and wanted more. Her thoughts drifted to the boy and the man. Carter really had been asking for it, or at least that's how she saw it. She didn't like to be pushed. Maybe he could be next...
She shook her head, and the thoughts flushed out. She was a hunter, and she could understand wanting to kill animals, but it was for sport. Carter wasn't an animal...not that much. She paused and stared at a puddle beneath her feet. She saw her reflection, her tangled mane, her wild eyes. Don't become like your father, Cybele.
----------------------------
Bara staggered, his breath rushing out of his mouth as he fought to keep his balance. He had stepped out in front of Toulient and pushed him behind him. Now he had two bullets in his chest. He looked back at the boy and said "Run."
He coughed and let go, falling to his knees.
Typhos watched all this as impassively as possible. He was still rather shocked from the sudden promotion and watching his General get shot. He glanced around. A few men were looking at him, hoping for some signs of leadership. With a heavy sigh Typhos slung his rifle and pulled out a small pistol.
It was either one man or the entire group.
Typhos walked up to Bara and raised the gun, leveling it with his head. 'Sorry, General." he murmured. He squeezed the trigger.
Bara slumped over. His vision went blank, and all his thoughts were gone. He saw nothing but darkness, felt nothing but shame for joining the Imperatrix.
And he had left his daughter in the lioness' den.
---------------------------------------------------
Galiana reached the palace and found one of the head servants. He recognized her immediately and told her she was excused for her absense. He told her to take time to rest if she needed it at all. She had had it pretty rough at the mines. She thanked him and got right to work. She picked up a basket and began to go through the rooms, picking up stray shirts or pants for the wash. Once she had a full basket, she began to make her way to the wash room, but she suddenly stopped at a window.
It was her normal perch. She would always sit there for a moment and look at the city. Her father and his soldiers would often be stationed out there, and she would wave at them. There was no one there today, and she was about to go on when she felt something strange. It felt like a sudden pang of saddness, but she didn't know why. She choked on a sob, but she swallowed it and moved on, mildly disturbed.
"Excellent, new General." Laurine scoffed, kicking Bara's body with delight. "Dispose of the corpse will you...And this other kid." Laurine pointed carelessly at Touleint. "I'll be speaking with Aeon to see if he is ready to surrender or if this destruction must continue." She walked off, cackling gleefully as she did. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Aurora's a jerk! Aurora's a jerk! Get all the latest news from the Town Crier!" Leon yelled, ringing a bell which he had mysteriously obtained from somewhere. He was very close to Aurora's tower as was his intention.
Galiana paused from her work and looked out the window again. She saw Leon and gasped. He would be punished for sure. She wanted to go down there to tell him to stop, but she didn't think she could. Then she saw a woman in red robes approaching...
-------------
Cybele hit Leon upside the head. "You idiot! Shut up! That's not what you're supposed to say! Try it again, but this time shout what you're told to shout."
Touleint fled.
He ran away, weapon abandoned, armor stained with the blood of his former general. The sounds of gunfire and screaming citizens chased him. Tears filled his eyes; he closed his eyes to keep the tears from falling. In doing so, he ran almost headfirst into a young man... with wings sprouting from his back.
"Who are you?" He asked timidly.
"Ah! M-more soldiers! I-I'll fight if I have to..." Aeon whimpered until he noticed Touleint was weaponless. "Huh? You aren't carrying a weapon? You might not be like the other ones..." Aeon contemplated over things and realized that whatever he was about to say couldn't cause any worse a disaster than was currently going on.
"I'm Aeon...Ex-Lord Raphael appointed me as the new leader of Super Land a few days ago but..." Aeon looked around at the chaos his country had fallen into. "...I guess I'm not ready yet..." Aeon winced and tears came to his eyes as his innocent brethren were murdered.
"I..." Touleint felt guilty at the destruction. "I'm sorry... I was... part of the force that showed up here to... But I refused! So did Gerneal Bara... but they killed him... his own soldiers..."
~~~~~~~
then Elberich and Dietrich wandered into this story.
