Galiana lowered her head and stared down at her feet. "Oh...I'm sorry. I didn't mean to pry. I just.." she sniffed and wiped at her eye, "I'm sorry."
She turned to face Lex and Leon.

Durzo stared at her for a moment, mentally swearing. He reached the edge of the alley and stopped. Damn, this would haunt him forever if he didn't
"General Bara, was it?" he said, turning. "Tall, uniform (insert physical description here)?"

Galiana immediately turned on her heels, her eyes wide and searching. "Yes! Yes, that's him! That's my father!" She immediately marched up to him and stared right at him. "You know him?! Do you know what happened?!"

Galiana's eyes grew even wider, and she took a step back. She laughed nervously and shook her head. "You...you can't possibly be serious. How could you...?" His face didn't change. He was dead serious. She gasped and brought her hand up to her mouth, shaking her head. "No...no, that's not possible. How can that be possible?"
She took another step back and covered her face with her hands. She looked up at him and asked, "Why?" When he didn't answer, she ran at him and pushed him back and screamed "Why!?"
Her face was red with anger and anxiety now, and hot tears flooded her eyes. She was going to find out everything.

"He was only following orders. Isn't that right, General Typhos?" came the sinister singsong voice of none other than the one...the only...Guardian Laurine! She had walked by a moment earlier and stuck around to listen to the conversation.
"Seems like you changed your appearance a little." Laurine patted Durzo on the shoulder and smiled wickedly at Galiana.

Durzo stared at her, brushing off the push. "It was orders. I am..was a good soldier. And as such I simply did my duty. he refused a direct order from Empress Laurine...so I shot him." He said, a tinge of sadness entering his voice. "Damn it..." he muttered. "When that damn rock crushed me, I was hoping that all traces of Typhos would have vanished. But I suppose the guilt always lingers."

Galiana's cheeks were soaked now, but she wasn't staring at Durzo anymore. She was staring at Laurine. "You did this....It was all you. It was all you fault! Everything was your fault!" Her fists clenched, and her eyes became blurry. "Everything! Aurora's loss of power! The fall of all the kingdoms! The collapse of my home! The death of my father! Everything! It was all you! IT WAS ALL YOU!"
For once, Galiana's anger got the best of her, and she swung her fist at Laurine, hitting her across the face. She was surprised at what she had done, but she felt no regret. She only felt hatred towards the Guardian.

Laurine removed the hood of her robe for the first time in her position as guardian. She revealed beautiful, length golden hair and an almost flawless face which she caressed from the blow she had just received.
"You...You bitch!" Laurine yelled. She raised her hand and the sharp, poisoned, claw like nails came down across Galiana's cheek. "I won't tolerate such insubordination! Typhos...Durzo...Whoever you are! Aren't you still in my employment? Didn't I ask you to kill Aeon and that other traitor? I'll give you twice as much money if you kill her right now!" Laurine demanded.

Galiana jumped back from the scratch and covered it with her hand. She could feel the blood trickling down her cheek. She stared up at Laurine and tried to say something along the lines of "It was an accident", but all that came out was gibberish. She was mostly in shock from the scratch and her blow. She had never struck anyone before. She didn't think she was strong enough.
Now she looked from Laurine to Durzo.

Durzo stared at Laurine. "Typhos..I no longer go by that name." he said. "I am Durzo Flint. And double the pay, you say..." He looked over at Galiana, and then Laurine. "Hmmm, I have a better idea. Maybe I'll take it off your corpse."
He reached behind him and pulled out his weapon of choice; a gunblade. Quick as a viper he stabbed the blade into Laurine's shoulder, and then pulled the trigger.

Laurine smirked as the blade pierced her shoulder. Just as the bullet was about to strike her, it turned into a green vapor. She forcefully grabbed the gunblade and removed it from her shoulder before dusting off her hands.
"Such defiance won't be tolerated, Durzo." Laurine laughed and rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "Why deal with you all myself when there are others willing to die for me?" Laurine laughed and pressed her badge. "Taenas! Taenas! I have two people here; Durzo and Galiana. One's a soldier and the other is a frail little wench. You'll recognize them immediately. They are conspirators in the death of Walter and I just thought I'd leave them to you." Laurine spoke through the badge before hanging up. "Too-da-loo." she waved before disappearing.
Loud stomps could be heard...
"Uh-oh..." Leon thought aloud. "Walter was bad enough, but I don't have a good feeling about this guy..."
A massive black dragon approached them. Aboard it was Taenas, holding his sword, Sindios, high in the air. Dark magic rained down upon them from the sky as he jumped from Dimen, his dragon.
Taenas immediately stopped what he was doing when he noticed Galiana and Leon. "If it isn't Leon! I haven't seen you since you first stepped in to Awesome Land 27 pages ago. I had to kill an innocent child to be appointed general back when I was in your army." Taenas reminisced. He laughed and the two went through some overly complex handshake that apparently all soldiers who served Leon while he was emperor had knowledge of.
"I knew you were a fugitive, but going so far as to defend this city of murderers?" Taenas asked, scratching his head with his sword.
"Murderers? Do these look like murderers to you?" Leon asked. He pointed at Durzo, whose gunblade had blood on the tip, Lex, whose lance was still firing meteors, and himself, who wore a huge robotic suit with tons of weapons.
"Err...Bad example..." Leon laughed nervously.
"Sorry I gotta do this, Leon, but..." Taenas' eyes shifted to Galiana. "You...You're the one in the palace with the low self-esteem. There's no way you could have helped kill Walter...is there?"

Durzo smirked. "Two mistakes. One.."
he jumped and in mid-air disappeared. Then reappeared next to Taenes, gunblade held to his neck. "One, you think you can kill someone who has already died twice. Two, You think I am a soldier. Typhos was a soldier. Durzo Flint is an assassin." He fired.

"Restrain yourself, assassin." Taenas commanded. Dimen's dimension traversing powers transported the bullet from the gunblade elsewhere Durzo to the ground, behind Galiana.
"As an assassin, I'm sure you are unaware of what it means to fight honorably. Allow me to explain: When someone is talking, it is very rude to try and shoot them." Taenas explained with a hint of anger in his voice.

Galiana looked to Durzo behind her and back at Taenas. "I would could never kill anyone, Guardian Taenas. You have to believe me. Laurine has been fooling you all. Everything is her fault. You have to believe me! She's the reason why Gener-...why my father is dead. I don't know how or why...but I know it. We aren't murderers, Gaurdian Taenas."

"Blow it out your ass, sir" Durzo said with a grin. "Well this is a huge waste of time, thus far, so...bye." He grabbed Galiana and disappeared.
Then remembered Lex and Leon and went back and grabbed them.

Taenas watched the group run off and thought to himself. Galiana would never kill anyone...She doesn't seem like that kind of person...But if that's the case, Laurine is lying to me. Wait...Aurora...Why isn't she directing this attack? In fact, she's been away from some time. She would never just get up and leave the empire, and she's got an insane immune system and her fighting skills are phenomenal enough to ward off any attack...If everything Galiana said was true, then...
"Laurine!" Taenas screamed. He was going to hunt her down and find out the truth, even if it meant his life. Chances are, it probably would.

"What could you possibly need my help with?" Johnny stared bewildered at Ventus.
"I'm sure you know the story of my founding the Kingdom?"
"Well, yeah, everybody learns it in grade school. You found the four Artifacts of wisdom, defeating those who possessed them. Then you challenged the one who was controlling the four before. Uh... Xavian... I think."
"Very good." Ventus glanced back over his shoulder. "Come; we'll talk more as we walk." The sounds of the battle crescendoed as Ventus lead Johnny down a street. For a moment, Johnny thought he was being led into battle. But then Ventus turned in the opposite direction. "It seems Xavian was not quite as dead as I would have liked," Ventus said as the battle died away.
"...Sir?"
"I mean... I succeeded in dethroning him from his position as the deity of darkness. Foolishly I thought that would be the end of that. I should have known that it would not be long until a new one surfaced."
"Who was the new dark - "
"Who?" Ventus whirled around and stared incredulously at Johnny. "You're quite familiar with him, if I'm not mistaken."
"Zais?"
"Very good." He continued on. "Power always leaves a vacuum. There must be someone to occupy the slot for darkness, as there must be for light, and time, and space."
"But that still doesn't explain why you need me."
"No? Hm, I must have rambled. I should think it obvious: You're going to help me kill Xavian for the final time."

"Hmm? This is very interesting!" Laurine paced back and forth in a relatively safe area in the battlefield that was Dynasty City. She was reading pages from a book she had stolen from the Special Land Library. "For the blade's full power to be realized, I have to kill-
"LAURINE!" Taenas yelled, walking up behind her. Dimen closely followed.
Aggravated, Laurine slammed the book shut, put her hood back up and turned around, exceptionally angry. "What? What do you want?!? I'm BUSY!"
"Laurine, tell the truth! What did you do to Aurora!? Why did you send me to kill those two?!" Taenas screamed. Laurine smirked before deciding she couldn't lie much longer.
"I tried to kill her." Taenas' eyes grew wide at that statement. "Yep. I tried to kill her. Very powerful weapon I designed...She teleported out of the way before hand, but she was still knocked unconscious. That's good enough for my plans. I wanted to you to kill Galiana and Durzo...Typhos...Whatever...because they know a bit too much of the truth for my taste. Happy now?"
"You...You monster!" Taenas tried to punch the ever twisted Guardian Laurine, but - having been punched enough - Laurine caught his fist. Her claw-like nails dug into his flesh as she threw him to the ground.
"The poison in your veins will kill you in about..." Laurine mockingly checked her wrist for a watch she didn't have. "Let's say five minutes. It's very potent poison of my own design, so it's safe to say that you probably don't even have that long. Too-da-loo!" Laurine laughed, waved and walked away, but not before staying a few seconds to see Taenas writhe in pain. Dimen roared to try and get someone's attention to Taenas.

"Ugh! Just how many of these people will have to perish? Walter's dead...Tyras is dead...Taenas is as good as dead...Lex is no doubt traitorous...Alastor is probably the only one still loyal to me, and that's out of fear that he'll betray his precious Aurora." Laurine cackled madly and quickly became bored.
"Really, what am I to do now? My presence is no longer needed on this field. My soldiers can take care of themselves...Hmph..." Laurine withdrew a list entitled "Heinous War Crimes Only the Most Evil of Evil Persons Would Commit", written by her, of course.
"Betrayal of fellow people...Check! Lying to amass more power...Check! Lying to turn people against other people...Check! Lying just for fun...Check! Killing tons of innocent civilians...No? Well, I know what I'm doing for the next 10 minutes!" Laurine laughed and went to a nearby river that flowed through Dynasty City, presumably its water supply.
"This is the most efficient way, in my opinion...Wait! Why kill when I can use?" With a sinister smile, Laurine put the tip of her finger into the river and watched as poison went from her hand into the river. Random civilians began to drink it and pass out, writhing in pain before standing up again and fighting soldiers of Dynasty City.
"Brainwashing neurotoxin...Definitely one of my better inventions. Too bad I can't cross it off the list." Laurine added, mildly disappointed. She continued to roam the streets, laughing at the mass chaos before her.
