As Zento Calfrun treaded across the land of Really Cool Land, he couldn't help but wonder why he was doing just that. The battle against the Time Keeper had long been over, that much he was certain of. What he did not know, was where those that he had met during his time in Awesome Land had gone to.
He was aware that the land that was Awesome was still in peril, and that if in the wrong hands a land so powerful could pose a threat to the rest of the world. All the same, he wished that he at least had one of his idols, a member of the Watsrobe family, to accompany him, but the three famous trumpet playes had gone to parts unknown.
Calfrun sighed. He knew that his job as an emissary from Ausum Land was an important one, but all the same he wished they had sent someone else. Not only was he only fifteen (thoough sixteen soon enough), he was also not a very agreeable person. He was sure that the only reason that he had been sent on this mission was because he could make the journey in half the time of anyone else.
(not sure where in Really Cool Land yo are, so just let me arive where you are, k?)

"Thank you, thank you, thank you for hearing my request!" Winston thanked the royal family. He kissed the feet of the King and Queen of Really Cool Land before continuing. "Your Highness, Grand Imperatrix Aurora is interested in an alliance with the Kingdom of Really Cool. She wants to get the new Awesome Land started on the right foot. Mentioned something about a foolish brother of hers screwing things up." Winston muttered, examining some documents. At once he stumbled upon a file of Leon, which he hastily shoved in his pocket to avoid the family noticing.

"I'm-I'm terribly sorry. I didn't mean for it to come out that way." Taenas choked. His upbringing at the hands of his biological father hadn't provided him with the highest level of tact. He rubbed the back of his head nervously before trying his hand at a bit of comfort. "My name's Taenas, by the way. I'm a general as well, and I'll ensure that no harm befalls your father. I'm also one of the Lesser Emperors, charged with the task of leading the Epsilon District, whose army will become all powerful!" Taenas raised his fist into the air as a display of his army's power - or at least how he perceived it. "But enough about my job. What's your name? And what precisely do you do here as a servant?" Taenas asked Galiana. He started to think he was getting the hang of the task Aurora had given him. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, at the Alspire, just outside the Tower of the Grand Imperatrix:
"Laurine. Guardian Laurine!" Aurora called out, in need of another task to be performed.
"Yes...Your Imperial Majesty..." Laurine hissed, appearing from the shadows of the tower, already having grown weary of Aurora.
She seems to have an attitude problem...Must be careful... Aurora thought. She had an innate ability to pick up on the feelings of others, an ability that made her people love her all the more. "I need to remain in constant contact with the Lesser Emperors. I would like you to give each one of them one of these badges." Aurora withdrew a set of golden badges from her robe pocket. "Tell them to wear them over their armor, or - in the case of the Guardians - under their robes. They will allow me to speak with each one of you when necessary." Aurora said proudly. It was clear that she took pride in her creation. Laurine couldn't have cared much less, however.
"Of course, Your Majesty." Laurine clenched her fists, concealed beneath her robes, before snatching the badges and walking off.
"What a strange woman...I hope I didn't make a mistake in choosing her as a Guardian..." Aurora reflected. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Laurine silently appeared above a tree near General Bara, General Walter and Sergeant Typhos, not in any way eager to complete her task.

Typhos shook Walter's hand, albeit rather gingerly. "Sir." he said smartly. "I was ordered from Commander Haverson's 805th Company." He turned and nodded to Bara. "Sir."

The four teammates departed the diner, dispersing among the throngs of citizens among the town. Xadam walked on wordlessly, thinking heavily.
"I want you to go to Really Cool Land. We need an informant in another nation." Myrxxan told him. Seeing the man's concern, the boy smiled. "Don't worry, we can handle things here." he reassured the Nobody.
"But...what about YOU." Xadam said. "HE has been acting up more and more recently, right? That's why you want us to gather troops."
Myrxxan's smile faltered and he closed his eyes briefly. When they opened again, they revealed eyes that seemed much to old and weary for a boy of fifteen. "Yes..there is that. I can supress him but it is getting harder. All the more reason for you to hurry and leave."
Xadam nodded wordlessly.
The man turned a corner, still thinking. It had been almost a year since Xadam first met Myrxxan. The boy had found

"Right. Commander Haverson...Hmph." Walter muttered to himself. "Well, anyway, Her Majesty wanted me to-
SLASH!
General Walter had received a swift blow to the neck, knocking him to the ground. He got up almost immediately and felt the back of his neck, revealing a badge taped to it. "Who did this?!" he demanded. He turned around and saw Laurine, the apparently ill-mannered Guardian.
"Laurine!" Walter yelled. "What is the meaning of this?" He rubbed the back of his neck and drew a sword from his side, prepared to battle.
"Calm yourself, Walter. I could have done much more damage if I wanted to. Good day, soldiers. I'm Laurine." Laurine announced, forcefully grabbing the hands of Bara and Typhos, shaking them with uncanny strength. One of her exceptionally sharp fingernails could be felt piercing each of their skins. "From now on, Walter will be in contact with Aurora at all times. You will be receiving orders directly from her. Bye..." Laurine disappeared with equally uncanny speed and went off to the next of the Lesser Emperors.
"What an annoying woman." Walter said, placing the badge under his armor. The badge began to glow momentarily and flashed twice.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" came Aurora's voice through the badge.
"This is Walter. Is there something I can do for you, Your Imperial Majesty?" Walter asked.
"Just checking to see that Laurine has delivered the badges...forcefully no doubt. If you would be so kind, however, I'd like you to rally up some soldiers and present yourselves to the Royal Family of Really Cool Land. Aid Winston in securing our alliance." Aurora said.
"Yes, Your Majesty. Come, Typhos. Bara. We have work to be done." Walter commanded, walking off toward RCL. The seal temporarily faded as he was one of Aurora's Seal-Keepers, a job given to all Lesser Emperors.
"Hurry up!" Walter demanded; otherwise the seal would come back immediately.

Still a bit shaken over Dante and Slavatore's sudden suicide, Trey had wandered along the edge of the barrier for some time, when the seal abruptly faded and he tumbled to one side. A pair of soldiers (officers, by the looks of them) tramped by. He immediately straightened himself and tried to look like he belonged. He nodded to the officers as they passed, and sighed heavily when the barrier returned, with him on the inside.
Guided by an instinct more powerful than one to simply survive, Trey adjusted his path and let his feet take him in one direction, while his mind wandered in another.
He is six... or seven. It is Christmas. The tree is decorated sparsely. His has lived on the edge of poverty all his life, and knows no different, but he can see the strain this most joyous of holidays puts on his parents. And their wallets. He is highly perceptive for his age. And independent, for he has no siblings. Hasn't since his older brother died of pneumonia four years ago. He appreciates everything he receives, and pretend he still believes in the Santa Clause myth. He smiles at his parents, and they smile back. But beneath that smile is pain, and worry. There and then he vows to never have to worry about money in his older life, and take care of his parents.
Trey faded out of the memory, a little upset. He failed to learn the identity of this life. It happens sometimes, when names are never said, or he remembers from a very young childhood. But this child had a strong sense of individual identity, so it was odd that his names was not available. Alas, somethings were beyond his grasp.

Johnny glanced nervously at his father, hoping he would not further antagonize.

Galiana lowered her head so that her long red hair hung over her face. She murmured "Galiana Bara, sir." It was barely audible.
"I do house work, sir. Laundry, cleaning, tending to anything anyone needs. Those are my duties, sir."
Her voice quivered a bit as she spoke. She had sometimes spoke with soldiers before, ones she knew from her father's regiment, about her work, but never to a Lesser Emperor. She felt that she should be invisible, that she couldn't make any mistakes.
-----------------------------------------
General Bara nodded to Walter and began to follow. He gestured for Touleint to follow. As he passed by Typhos, he said. "I welcome you into my regiment, son. May you do well in you service to the Empress."
As he followed, he thought of his daughter, Galiana. She lived in the servants' quarters in the palace, but she would be wondering where he was. She was used to visiting him everyday. He decided he would write to her at some point.

Toureint sized up Tyhos in one glance. And one phrase: Don't FLUFF with me.
He intended to stick to that.

Whenever Carter walked through a town, people did one of two things: they either gasped, and jumped aside (and sometimes fainted, in the ladies case), or they took one look and cast their eyes feverishly to one side, avoiding eye contact. Either one suited him fine, they both acknowledged his power. Fenrir and Friga snarled at his heels (Fenrir on the right, Friga on the left). To the casual observer, they were wild animals, and would pounce upon a random innocent at the slightest provocation.
Oh, if only they knew.
Fenrir and Friga were killing machines, yes, but were under Carter's control, at least, hie command. Wolves were pack animals, he learned early on, and they respected the chain of command. If one decided he was stronger, he could challenge the alpha. If he was victorious and slew his opponent, he earned his position as alpha. If not, he either was killed, or slinked away, submissive as ever once the ordeal was over.
Fenrir and Friga were fiercely loyal to Carter, not only because he proved his superior physical strength, but because he raised them from pups, and saw him as a surrogate parent. As such, they understood his commands, and did not act unless directed to do so. They were an extension of Carter's ego, showpieces; with them, he didn't even have to steal or rob. People practically threw things at him, as long as he would let them live.
But he was an honest thief, or a practical one. Food, and pants were the only items he ever took. What use was money when people did not ask for payment? What use was jewelry? It only drew attention away from his obvious physical superiority. No, he was a simple teen, with a simple goal.
An Imperial Guard strolled by, nodded. A patrol, not an oppressive one, by normal standards. But to Carter, their very presence was oppressive. The slightest flick of his hand sent Fenrir leaping on the guard. He fell, and shouted in first surprise, then pain. Friga watched, tensed, ready to leap to her brother's aide should he require it... at Carter's leisure, of course. As it was, he need no assistance, the man silenced quickly. Blood was sprayed all over the ground, and stalls, and a few unlucky spectators.
Carter made a clicking sound with his mouth, and Fenrir - muzzle stained with blood, an organ (kidney, maybe?) hanging from his jaws - quit what he was doing and returned to Carter's side. Carter glanced around at the horrified patrons of the bazaar. No one moved or spoke or challenged him when he started off, leaving the mangled corpse of an Imperial Guard - a simple farmer just a few weeks ago - behind to stain the otherwise scenic town.

Thomas Dean strolled through the streets, leaving the ranks for his break. He had just exited a tavern a little ago, and he was on his way to check on Galiana with his spare time. She would usually sit with him in the gardens and tell him about her day, telling him about everything she had heard while working in the palace. He would always listen patiently, sometimes drifting out with thoughts of Eiddwen....Galiana looked too much like her. She was nearly a spitting image. She shared her red hair, her pale skin, her fragility. It worried him. Her weakness might be similar as well.....
He paused as he heard some comotion in the street nearby. He walked steadily forward, his hand drifting towards his waist where his sheath was. He rounded a corner to cut into the next street and hesitated when he saw the bloody mess. A strong, sweet scent filled his nostrils and caused him to wince. He turned away from the man, noting his status, and looked up and down the street. There were only commoners, none that could have been capable. He glanced down the street and spotted the thick, messy fur of a wolf. Two of them. He eyed a young man walking beside them.
He picked up his pace and began to follow, never taking his hand away from his side.

"As General and Lesser Emperor of the Epsilon District, I demand you pick your head up!" Taenas commanded with a hint of anger in his voice. "There is no need to feel shy or inadequate around me. I may be a general, but first and foremost I am a human." Taenas replied. Being a servant does not cater to her well-being. Taenas thought for a moment.
He hastily decided to say "You are hereby relieved of your duties as a servant for the rest of the day. As General and Lesser Emperor I command you to go out and associate with others. If you do not do as I say, your punishment will be...Hmm...Suitable punishment..." Taenas withdrew a manual emblazoned with the Awesome Land coat of arms. "Punishment...punishment..." he muttered, flipping through pages as he spoke. "Ah! Here we are. 'Direct Disobedience of an Emperor of Awesome Land. Punishable by execution.'" Taenas read, slamming the book shut. "There you have it. Enjoy yourself...or perish." he commanded again before giving a slight bow to Galiana and throwing the palace doors open again. Walter, Laurine, AND Her Majesty will have my head for this...But I think I've done a good job...Performed above and beyond the call of duty. Taenas thought, walking outside to see if there was more good to do. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Walter, Bara and Typhos appeared in the castle with the King and Queen of RCL. Walter gave a bow to them and signaled for the others to do the same. "Good day, King and Queen of Really Cool Land. Her Imperial Majesty sent us here to ensure that everything went smoothly." He noticed a slight scowl on Winston's face, meaning that something bad had just been said. Not by Winston, he knew, because Winston could not, by nature, say anything he was not instructed to.
"Yes, yes. I can handle relations myself, thank you." Winston replied. "And Awesome Land has been in very good hands, I would say. Why, just before Her Imperial Majesty Aurora took over, Walter was the Emperor and he did a fine job." Winston said, slightly annoyed.

Galiana jerked her head up with a surprised look on her face. She placed a hand over her mouth to hide her expression and listened to the Lessor Emperor. She nodded her head along with what he said, showing her agreement. She curtsied before he left and looked down at her basket of laundry. She really should finish before she left, but she was afraid of the Lessor Emperor. She decided to place the basket in a corner for later, and she quickly walked to her quarters to fetch her cloak.
I will visit father. Perhaps I can fetch some lunch in the market.
And with that, she headed out into the streets.

"Must have been a very short reign indeed," King Randolph remarked, "For I was unaware of it."
Johnny kept his face stoic, but on the inside he was screaming.
"Ah... I kid, I kid." The king waved his hand to dismiss the joke.
"Please forgive him," the queen said hastily. "He has a very... different sense of humor."
Randolph grunted in agreement. "Yes, yes. I'm sure Walter was a fine emperor. And I'm sure Aurora will do excellent as well. So, what is it that you are here for?"
~~~~~~
Fenrir uttered a curt growl at Carter's heels. "Yes, I know he's there. He must have seen his friend." Once the wind shifted, he picked up on the scent of armor. An Imperial, no doubt. "Let us see how determined this man is..."
Carter quickened his pace and turned a corner at the last second, then another, and then another. He knew exactly where he was, but counted on his tracker getting lost. Friga growled low in discomfort. Wolves were used to chasing, not baiting, but she would follow Carter no matter what.
Thomas saw the man and his wolves begin to pick up the pace. He picked up his speed as well, remaining a good, constant distance away. He wanted to keep an eye on him, not attack him. He couldn't make any advanced in the current area without any back up. Civilians could be hurt, could even be killed.
He followed him carefully.
-------------------------------------
Galiana walked through the streets, a basket dangling from her arm. She held it steady with her other hand as she made her way through the small croud of people. She kept her head low and looked towards her feet, not meeting anyone's gaze. She was on her way to her father's home. She had lived there before she became a servant and visited every chance she got, even if her father wasn't home.
She checked on her basket's contents. A small bunch of grapes, some raw meat bundled in a cloth she would cook later, and a small bottle of wine. She was planning on using them for dinner later that day. She hadn't eaten with her father in a while, and she had spent most of her savings on this meal. She wanted to get home before him and surprise him when he got home.
She glanced up when she had finished checking and immediately lurched to the side. She placed her back to the wall and gripped her basket tightly to her. She had nealy ran into a wolf. Her big blue eyes grew wider as she saw that there was another wolf and a man. He only wore pants. He looked like he lived in poverty. She looked away, towards her basket, and waited patiently for him to pass.
Typhos watched the leaders convers in stoic silence. With his good eye he watched his fellow soldier to his left, inclining his head slightly in curiosity. The man was, best Typhos could tell, little more than a simple soldier. A conscript serving his duty. That suited Typhos just fine. Armies needed line men and officers to bolster the ranks.
Turning his attention back to the talks, Typhos fought back the urge to frown at the 'humor' displayed by the king of Really Cool Land.
Myrxxan walked through the bazaar at a quick pace, his expression worried. He needed to get home quickly. A headache was growing and he was feeling a bit nauseous. Never a good sign.
"Gotta fight it." he told himself. .."I am my own person. Me, not that bastard."
"We are one and the same, Myrxxan." the voice whispered to him.
"Shut up."
Just then Myrxxan froze, spotting something from across the way. A man was walking with to rather mean looking wolves at his side. One of the beast's muzzle was caked in gore, making Myrxxan both feel sick and yet shiver in anticipation. He began to try and walk past the man, but for a reason Myrxxan himself didn't know, stopped and faced the man. "You should keep those more controlled." He said, almost without thinking, toward the man's wolf.
Carter looked rapidly, but controlled, from Myrxxan, to Galiana, to Thomas. Things just got very interesting very quickly. "Control? Wolves?" Carter threw his head back in mock laughter. "You can't be serious?" Fenrir stepped forward a step at Myrxxan, but Carter snapped his finger, and the wolf returned to his side. "I, however, am not. You don't control wolves, you earn their loyalty."
"You may go," Carter said to Galiana, without looking at her. "You as well," he said to Myrxxan, "Unless you have something more to say."
While not directly looking at Thomas, Friga and Fenrir turned on the spot to face him.
