Cybele watched them before scoffing and turning away. It seemed like a battle just for the two of them. There's no fun in that. She pounced back onto the wall and sat on the roof, lying on her stomach and proping her head up with her hand. She figured she could at least watch.

Carter hoisted himself up to where Cybele waited. Fenrir and Frigga paced nervously below.
"Crazy, eh?"

She raised her head up and looked quizzically at Carter, studying him. He smelled like his friends. It was the musky oder she had sensed before. "Sure, but it's no fun at all. I didn't even get to shoot anybody."
She stared down at the fight and noticed the two wolves. She had been planning to go north, and she would need a new coat. "Those your friends?"

"Yup," Carter said proudly. "Fenrir and Frigga. Found 'em as pups. Now they never leave my side."

Cybele's eyes scanned them carefully. They seemed pretty strong and healthy. She looked back at Carter. He seemed pretty strong and healthy, too. Maybe she could use a belt? She blinked and the thought immediately vanished. She didn't want to be that heartless.
She moved her hand to her thigh where one of her pistols was strapped. "Interesting...And your name?"

Zais handed Carter a business card and disappeared.
Xavian growled. "Enough! I will end all of you he-" he stopped suddenly, wincing in pain. "Damn...out of time already. Damn this boy for being strong willed. "I will finish you off osme other time!" he spat. With that the body dropped. Myrxxan's skin and eyes returned to normal, all traces of Xavian leaving him.
Myrxxan lay on the ground moaning in pain for a moment before hoistting himself up to his knees. "Damn..not again."

(so Myrxxan and Xavian are not friends)
Ventus saw Xavian vanish. The strain on his soul caused by traveling up through time, was too much to endure, and he relented. Trey resumed control of his body, but still Ventus lingered below the surface. Waiting.
"All right, nothing to see here," he waved the crowd away. "Shoo! Shoo!"

"Marvelous. Absolutely marvelous." Aurora cheered softly in a voice dripping with sarcasm. "But I really do not appreciate such barbarism in my country. I leave all of you with two choices:" Aurora said, addressing Trey, Myrxxan, Cybele, Carter and anyone who had been fighting, even for a split second. "You shall all be escorted to the Awesome Land Detention Center, run by Guardian and Lesser Emperor Tyras for a bit of work..." A man wearing a blood red robe appeared behind Aurora. Roughly 6'2", he was one of the two Guardians who despised wearing his hood, so his fiery red hair and fair skinned face were clearly visible. He had a huge smile on his face and bowed to address his subjects. "...Or you shall be removed from Awesome Land completely. The choice is yours." Aurora said, and she waited for the people to answer.

At that moment the air began shimmering. Viper and Konnig appeared behind their fallen commander. "Che' here's a third option lady." Konnig said with a mocking grin. He grabbed Myrxxan and hefted him over one shoulder. "You alright, boss?"
"Fine, Konnig." Myrxxan gritted out. Viper nodded.
"We should return. Xadam has contacted us with good news."

"How dare you defy-" Aurora began, but she was interrupted by the eerily chilly presence of one of her assistants. A young man with straight, thin and almost silky icy blue hair in an equally blue robe walked up behind Aurora. His presence cooled the area by about 5 degrees. He, like Tyras, was averse to wearing the hood on his robe. His face was similar to Tyras', distinguished only by a slightly more pale skin tone.
"Ms. Veralice." the man began. He was the only one permitted to call her 'Ms. Veralice' due to his unending loyalty and services. "I've some very important news -well, important to me, at least- that you may want to hear." he finished. His voice was smooth and as cool as the temperature around him, soft and soothing. His overall demeanor suggested that he was only slightly older than Aurora, perhaps by a year or two.
"Hm? Is that so, Alastor? Well, what is it?" Aurora asked, temporarily distracted from the current issue before her.
"I..." Alastor looked around at her present company. "I-I'd really rather tell you in the Tower. It's a bit secretive." he stuttered, not desiring his request to sound like an order.
Aurora sensed the implied urgency and nodded her head. "Very well. Guardian Tyras, finish things up here." Aurora commanded as she and Alastor walked off to the TGI. (Tower of the Grand Imperatrix)
"With pleasure." Tyras grinned, and he repeated the orders Aurora had said. "Come to the Detention Center or leave this land...by force if necessary." His eyes glinted for a split second and it was clear he intended only one option for them. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, at the TGI...
Laurine stood near the throne of the GI on the 9001st floor, eying it with extreme envy. "Soon...Very soon..." Laurine chuckled as she heard someone approach. "Hmph...I don't have enough time to get out of here..." she decided, and she resolved to jump upon a nearby pillar that Aurora had constructed in honor of the Alspire.
Well hidden, Laurine eyed Alastor and Aurora from above while they entered the room.
"So, Alastor, what is the news?" Aurora asked casually. She tried her best not to intimidate Alastor, who was shy by nature. He was the younger brother of Tyras and lived in the shadow of his vibrant, energetic sibling for so many years that his timidity was normal to him.
"Well, Aurora, General Walter told us that they all had just been escorted to their rooms in the palace-
"So I assume the treaty went well?" Aurora asked eagerly.
"Well, he didn't go into detail about that." Alastor replied to a slightly annoyed Aurora. He sensed this and hastily added "B-but he did give me news that might interest you. He went to another room and examined your brother. It seems that Leon is on the verge of death." Alastor waited for Aurora's reaction before continuing, not sure of her feelings about her brother.
"Hmm..." Aurora looked as if she were about to cry, but this changed almost as immediately as the expression had shown. "That's...Terrible news." she decided after much hesitation. "He may have been a cruel, heartless tyrant...and he may have...banished me without regret but..." Tears slowly worked their way to Aurora's eyes. "But he's still my brother. Why did you tell me this?" Aurora demanded, her voice rising out of fury.
"I-I thought you hated...He won't be a threat to..." Alastor spoke in broken sentences before remembering the second part of the news he had heard. "Walter went into a lot of detail about the wound. It's a glowing, silver, magical wound and it seems that his essence - his very life force is escaping from it. The wound was irreversible by any magical spell, which prompted my interest." Alastor said, though Aurora still looked furious and sad.
He continued "I was quite shocked, because his explanation of the wound was quite similar to what Phiro and I found yesterday near the Temple of Hys...The Cursed Blade." Alastor replied happily, quickly remembering that a strict "Damnatio Memoriae" policy on the sword. He produced a silver crystal from his robe pocket. A dark mist swirled within the crystal, giving off bad omens.
"This crystal - Phiro and I labeled it the 'Siphon Crystal' - has a unique property in that it absorbs energy from various sources, much like Leon's wound does to him." Alastor marveled at the crystal and Aurora's expression brightened for only a brief moment.
"What's more, Phiro and I discovered another crystal - the 'Power Crystal' - that gives off an abundance of energy." Alastor produced another crystal from his pocket. It radiated energy and shone brightly in the dark room. "Now, while normally the Siphon Crystal should draw off the excess energy of the Power Crystal, if you place them in really close proximity..." Alastor touched the two crystals together and immediately the room began to glow more brightly than the sun. The energy radiated from the crystals created an intense wind in the tower, battering Aurora's and Alastor's hair and robes about. The sheer amount of energy radiated from the crystals was akin to Goku going Super Saiyan 4. Alastor took the two crystals away from each other and clenched them in separate hands.
"...A wonderful reaction occurs, producing far more energy than possible for the Power Crystal alone. As soon as Walter explained Leon's situation to me, I knew that it was possible to prevent his death by creating a device to infuse the energy of the crystals into him and replace his original life force. Naturally, I have already begun constructing this device and we can save his life...if Your Majesty so wishes it." Alastor, added fearfully.
"Of course! If there is anything I or my people can do to help, please let me know Alastor." Aurora ran up and hugged Alastor, overjoyed with relief.
Alastor, slightly embarrassed, began to stutter again. "W-Well...There is a slight stipulation. We will need a few more crystals to power the device than what we have. We believe there may be more in the area under the Temple." Alastor said.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Alright. I'll get Tyras on that. He is in charge of Internal Affairs and has such a way with people." Aurora replied, releasing Alastor. "Let's go. I would like to see this device posthaste." Aurora commanded. Alastor nodded and ran off to prepare the device which was held in a room quite close to the temple. Aurora prepared to follow him when Laurine jumped down from the pillar-statue, pretending to have come from upstairs.
"Don't startle me like that, Laurine. " Aurora commanded, annoyed with Laurine's lack of footstep sounds.
"Sorry, Your Majesty." Laurine scoffed, although her current desire required the utmost politeness. "I just wanted to find you and ask you a question..." Laurine twiddled her thumbs and attempted to look as innocent as possible.
"Mmm...What is it?" Aurora asked, mildly impressed with Laurine's behavior.
"I need...Um...Several million...dollars in funding...for a project." Laurine muttered, coughing between words.
Had Aurora been drinking something at the time, a classic spit-take would've occurred. "You need WHAT?!" she demanded, unused to such requests.
"Money...for a project." Laurine muttered more softly.
"What kind of project?" Aurora demanded, unappreciative of the vague explanation given to her.
"Hmm...Top secret...For the good of the Empire...Pretty please?" Laurine looked down at the floor and twiddled some more.
She is acting awfully nice...If I don't do this for her, I may never earn her loyalty. This chance won't come again... Aurora thought. "Fine." she consented, writing a check for $3,000,000. "But I want to see this project as soon as it's done." Aurora commanded.
Laurine snatched the check and smiled, repeatedly thanking Aurora. "Thank you, thank you, thank you! You won't be sorry, Your Majesty!" Laurine exclaimed, running down to the first floor of the Tower. What a fool...With this money I'll be able to buy all I need. It's a shame Awesome Land doesn't have these supplies...Otherwise this money wouldn't be needed. Ah well...Shopping spree! thought Laurine, looking over a list of supplies in her pocket. Wires, metals, nuts, bolts and all sorts of electronic and mechanical parts were written down. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back at the Tower...
Aurora watched as Laurine disappeared with haste down the tower steps. She was slightly confused, but felt she did the right thing to earn Laurine's loyalty. She grabbed her Imperial Sceptre and stamped it on the ground. It flashed briefly, awaiting Aurora to speak into it.
"Tyras. Tyras!" she demanded.
"Yes, Your Majesty? A bit busy here with these...civilians." Tyras said, referencing the recent combatants. He had no idea where Aurora's voice was coming from but he wasn't at all afraid of it. Things like that were commonplace in Awesome Land.
"Tyras, you have a new order. Rather than taking them to the Detention Center, take them to the Temple of the Cursed Blade. There are various crystals underground in that area and I need them to be excavated. This is the only time I will order you. Perform well." Aurora commanded, turning her staff off.
"But..." Tyras whined, realizing Aurora had already turned off her means of communication.
Aurora stamped her staff on the ground of the 9001st floor again, this time speaking to all of Awesome Land and everyone who had a badge.
"Attention, all citizens!" came her voice from across the land. "All people ranked General-Emperor or lower, including Walter, Taenas, servants and civilians are to report to the Temple of the Cursed Blade immediately. Failure to do so will result in death. You will find a pickaxe has been sent to you magically; prepare yourselves for mining. That is all." Aurora commanded, turning the staff off immediately. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile at Really Cool Land (MY GOODNESS THIS IS SUCH A LONG POST)
A pickaxe appeared near Walter while he cursed in outrage at what he just heard. "This is outrageous! She expects me and my soldiers - soldiers for God's sake! - to go mining!" Walter yelled, going into the rooms of his fellow soldiers. "Typhos, Bara, Toulient, get up! We have work to do back in Awesome Land." he spoke very angrily, heading off toward the palace doors. Just as he was about to open them-
CRASH!
The doors were already thrown open by none other than Laurine, sending Walter straight to the ground. "Watch where you're going." came her insulting reply as she stepped up to King Randolph and Queen Francine, kneeling in respect.
"Your Royal Majesties, I come from Awesome Land as one of the Guardians. I appear here at your feet today to request the authorization of the purchase of these items from your country." Laurine pleaded, handing each of them a copy of her list which listed various metals and wires.

Konnig snorted. "Whatever buddy. We're out of here." He turned and began walking down the street. But when he got a few feet the air shimmered and he disappeared, as if walking through a wall of liquid. Viper stood alone with the gathered people.
"We bid you a good then." He nodded and turned to leave.

Bara called for his soldiers, repeating what Walter had said. His thoughts filled with questions, but he knew not to ask them. He only needed to follow.
-----------------------------
A pickaxe flashed infront of Thomas. He had heard what Aurora had said, since he was still against the wall by everyone, and he had no idea why they should dig. Wait...Galiana is still asleep...
He turned and took a detour back to the Bara household. He found her still in her room in a deep sleep. He shook her awake. Her eyes fluttered open, and she sat up dazed. "Wha..Thomas? What are you...Why am I..?"
Thomas handed her the pickaxe he had seen at her bedside. "We are needed at the Temple. I don't know much myself besides the fact that we have to excavate something. I need you to come with me."
Thomas grabbed her wrist and began pulling her out of the house. She willingly followed, dragging the pickaxe behind her.
---------------------------------
Cybele scowled. "I will not be forced to dig! Kick me out of Awesome Land if you want! I don't care!" Her hands shifted to her thighs, where her pistols were.

"Aren't we a bit sassy?" Tyras chuckled at Cybele. "Just the way I like 'em... Fortunately I'm above the General Emperors, so I'm spared this menial task. I'm afraid you don't have an option." Tyras withdrew a sword with a wavy blade - a flamberge - from his side before removing his blood red robe entirely. He revealed lightweight crimson armor and platelegs beneath the robe, providing easy maneuvering and moderate defense.
"Tell ya what!" Tyras said, always in the mood for a bit of sport. "If you can beat me right here, right now, I'll grant you exemption from going to labor. If you lose, you'll become my personal servant for a year. Trust me, that would be a lot better than mining for who knows how long. So, how 'bout it?" Tyras laughed, folding his arms and awaiting an answer. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Near the Temple of Hystoger
Aurora, Alastor and another robed figure stood in front of the temple, waiting for their subjects to appear. Walter rushed toward her, leaving the barrier open just long enough for the other soldiers to get through.
"What is the meaning of-" Walter began to demand.
"Silence. Insubordination is not an option. You are to enter the mine beneath this temple and begin harvesting these crystals." Aurora took the Siphon Crystal and Power Crystal from Alastor. "Find as many crystals like these as possible. That goes for all of you. Do as I say or die in defiance." Aurora commanded.

Cybele just squinted her eyes and glared at Tyras. "Fine, I'll blow you to pieces!"
Her hands immediately grabbed her guns. She whipped them out in the blink of an eye and fired. She then leaped off of the building she sat on and flew over Tyras, firing as she went, before tumbling onto the ground behind him. She went into a crouch, lying low to the ground. She looked like she was about to pounce.
-----------------------------------
Thomas and Galiana reached the temple just in time to hear what they were doing. Thomas lead Galiana into the Temple to where they were supposed to dig. Thomas placed her beside him and showed her how to use the pickaxe. She nodded as she watched and attempted to try herself. She struggled to lift it off the ground, and she could hit with barely any force at all. Just after a few swings, she looked winded and exhausted. She had always been very weak.
Thomas watched her with concern. He knew how weak her mother had been, but they thought that Veran's (Bara) strong genes would kick in and make her stronger. He now saw that she was just as weak and began to worry.

The bullets from Cybele's guns appeared to hit Tyras' arms, but no damage appeared to have been done. Physically impairing damage, that is. Tyras' ego was another story.
"Hmm...That wasn't very nice. I didn't want to have to use my special talent...Hmph..." Tyras sighed, sheathing his sword momentarily. The bullets which had lodged themselves in his arms and the bullets which had missed him began to rise in the air.
"Allow me to explain. Each of the Guardians of Awesome Land has a unique talent. My annoying brother Alastor, for example, manipulates temperature and is able to freeze things. I, on the other hand..." The bullets flew toward Cybele and burst into shards as they approached her. "...am a master of fire and combustion. If it can explode, then you'll bet I'll use it!" Tyras laughed, turning around and rushing toward his adversary.
