Rowlek, smarter than the rest of the Phantom Regiment who had surrounded Vincent, continued after the assassin. he was getting closer. The figure's hood flew back in the wind, revealing long red hair. The Woodwind looked back over his shoulder, and Rowlek caught a glimpse of his face. It couldn't be! First Rudat, now....
Rowlek continued chasing the figure as Vincent caught up to him. Rowlek, having enlisted in the Phantom Regiment, had decided to join the drumline, so he produced a bass drum from nowhere. In a maneuver in no way imitating a certain 2007-08 Etowah High School Marching Band Camp incident, he threw his drum to the ground and sprang on top of it, rolling at an incredible speed toward the assassin. He soon caught up to the assassin and pulled slashed at the man with Vor'em, shredding his cloak into tiny pieces. The assassin looked at Rowlek in fear. It was him! Rowlek knew it!
Rowlek jumped from his bass drum, the drum dissolving into thin air, and he landed on top of the Woodwind. He beat him to the ground, but the Woodwind, in a similar fashion to Rudat, simply flashed his teeth in a menacing grin, and disappeared. Rowlek cursed himself. Michael Smith had managed to evade him.

All was not lost, however. Michael, before disappearing, had dropped a small piece of wood on the ground. It was a Reed. A Saxophone Reed. Rowlek picked it up and examined it. It was covered in Minusek. It seemed that Michael was an enemy of the enemy, and, therefore, an ally. On the Reed was scratched a short message. Rowlek turned the Reed over and read the inscription: MINUSEK HC E50M. Below the inscription was a small circle with the letters N, E, S, and W around it. Still beating himself up mentally for failing to prove himself. Again. He stuffed the Reed into his pocket and trudged off toward the palace, passing Vincent and the Phantom Regiment, who began to follow him again.

TJ tired of running around with a tuba, started playing a simple tune he was taught as a small child by his mother
it consisted of only half notes in this order C G A E F C F G. and was repeated as many times as desired
he was told it held the power of the Heavy Metal Kingdom, but he didnt know how
he continued playing untill he fell into a trance, he had a vision and he knew what needed to be done.
he went out torwards the gate, the Eastern Mountains were calling his name

In the infirmary of the Ausum Palace, Xero suddenly awoke and sat up straight. He heard the sound of Tuba Justin playing his tuba and he joined in, playing the melody. In a trance, he lifted his trumpet to his lips and began to play the hypnotic tune of Pachelbel Canon. The notes blended in perfect harmony, and Xero stood from his infirmary bed, slipped on his Trumpet Master's cloak, and walked out of the palace, following the sound of the Ancient Tune of the Heavy Metal Kingdom.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All around the Ausum Kingdom, people could hear the majestic sound of Pachelbel Canon resonating across the land. But only a select few people could interpret it. Jacob Throop and Chris Oglesby, two of the few men who had remained calm throughout the ordeal with the assassins, heard the song and fell into the same trance, bringing their instruments, trumpet and baritone, respectively, to their lips. They, too, joined in the song and began marching toward the Eastern Mountains. Their purpose in Ausum Land was about to be revealed.
In the throne room, Phantom heard the sound of the Ancient Tune of the Heavy Metal Kingdom sounding out across his Kingdom. He smiled. But it was a bittersweet moment. He knew what it meant. The Brass were uniting. The Second Battle of the Bands was about to begin.
More and more people joined in with the four who were already playing. Lacquer heard and was captivated. Raising his Contra to his mouth, he began to play the same sequence TJ had played: C G A E F C F G.
Rowlek, upon hearing his friends' music sounding out, suddenly decided to take up French horn (he still plays percussion too, but he plays horn right now) and joined in, heading towards the Mountains.
Vincent who heard Tuba Justin playing Pachbels Canon fell into the trance and pulled Elkhart to his lips. Playing the tune as he sped towards the location of Tj.
Xero, Rowlek, Lacquer, Jacob, and Chris all neared the Eastern Gates. That was where the Ancient Tune was leading them. Nobody knew why. They had just been drawn there. That was all they knew.
As the crowd grew larger and larger, the was a massive earthquake, shaking everyone standing by the Gate, but they continued to play the tune until it was finished. When they were through playing Canon, everyone awoke from their trances, but they all retained the memory that they had been drawn here for a purpose. An Ancient purpose. A purpose that had drawn thousands of Brass Players to the Eastern Mountains centuries before.
The Woodwinds were arising.
Vincent landed at the gate and scanned the crowd. All brass players had amassed together for some purpose that surely must be great. Perhaps he would see one of his friends from Really Cool. Seeing That his friend was one of the last trombone players left alive when the Woodwinds attacked the Brass motherland. This friend of his had survived and even avoided this catastrophe altogether willingly or not.
Zento recovered from the Agony Stick assualt. He had heard the others playing a song, but couldn't recognize the notes in that state, let alone lift his trumpet to his mouth. He figured he would find Xero or Phantom and see if he could figure out what was going on. Since Xero was hurt, the palace infimary seemed like the best place to start.
Royal Guards immediately rushed to Sonia's aid when they saw her collapse at the palace gates. They carried her to the infirmary and began monitoring her right away. They couldn't risk losing another patient. Xero had already escaped to who-knows-where. They would not lose this one.
She seemed to be about 16 years old. As the doctors observed her, they noticed something odd about her. When she dreamed she merely moved her mouth. Her breath passed through her lips, but no other sound came from her. She was mute. They could tell. This could be dangerous for them. No good ever came from the mute or deaf, or even tone deaf, in Ausum Land. They would have to keep a close eye on her.
Zento reached the palace and found that Xero had escaped. It looked like he would have to disapear for a while and track down the Royal Family, or the Assasins. It seemed as though everyone had gone on a big adventure without him, and now he was lost.
Unbeknownst to the members of Ausum Land, eyes were cast upon them. Hazel balls of xyloid descent, from his ancestor, Johann Denner.
"Fools. Denner and his company may have been careless, but not I. Muahahaha." His cloak undulated in wind, his gaze unmatched from the top of his dark tower, manifested in the shape of a clarinet, the Buffet R13...000. He grasped the case on the chain around his neck, its contents now glowing. "We will not fail you, Denner as you have failed us. No longer will Ausum Land be polluted with..." He almost vomited at the repugnant word. "...Brass. Just wait."
The man shrieked a high C three octaves above the staff, teleporting into the Barrel [2nd to highest joint on a clarinet], relaxing upon his most comfortable of thrones.
"Lord Treboski, the Heroes have completed their missions," barked the Sentry of Door 3102, Floor 8340.
The stern corners of Lord Treboski's grave mouth gave way to a loose smile.
"Good. I was getting quite bored. Year 15 of TM is a bugger."
"You, there!" a guard shouted at Zento. "What business have you in the Royal Palace of His Majesty, King Phantom?"
Hearing the guard say the name "Zento," Phantom pushed the doors to the throne room open and said, "At ease, Dennis (lol same Dennis who appeared once in Awesome Land (I think Season 2)...... wow, I completely forgot he was actually in Ausum Land at that time too. I thought he was from Special Land, but he is the same guard that stopped Salvatore when Cha Cha came to request assistance from the Phantom Regiment). He's a friend of Xero's."
Disappointed at being denied another prisoner, Dennis reluctantly lowered his spear and muttered an apology, allowing Zento to enter the throne room.
"I know you are looking for Xero," Phantom said. "As you already know, he is no longer in the infirmary. He has been called. By the Ancient Tune of the Heavy Metal Kingdom." Seeing Zento's confused look, he added, "He's gone to the Eastern Gates. The two men who assaulted us this afternoon were Woodwinds of the Evil Hidden Squad. They are known to live in the Eastern Mountains. In the Hidden Caves. They have remained quite peaceful until now. Almost too peaceful. Now I fear they wish to strike again after all these years. They are looking to conquer the Brass Kingdom. But we must not let them prevail. With the Sword Marcato at his side, Xero will ensure their defeat. And I am quite sure you, with your mighty blade will do the same."
Just then, a young boy barged into the throne room. The King's face lit up immediately at the sight of his grandson.
"Grandpa!" the boy cried, running to Phantom with outstretched arms. He jumped into Phantom's firm hug.
"Mykal!" Phantom laughed (LOL WUT???). "What are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the same thing," said a voice from the doorway. A moment later, a figure in a black cloak walked through the door. His hood was over his head so that only his eyes could be seen. On the back of his cloak was a picture of a silver trumpet, lined in gold. And in his right hand he held a gleaming Sword. It was the True Sword, one of the Artifacts of Wisdom from the Kingdom of Really Cool. On his left hand, something different seemed to sparkle in the sunlight. Something much smaller. Something round. Something that wrapped around his finger. A gold ring. And in his left hand was another, gentler hand. The hand belonged to a fair woman, nearing 30, tall and strong. She carried a small Mirror in her left hand. The Beauty Mirror. It looked different after so many years. Perhaps the Princess' magic had been able to transform it.
"Cha Cha!" Phantom breathed. Then he looked at the woman and bowed. "Princess Sarah."
Sarah simply laughed. "Rise, King Phantom. Why do you bow to me when you know you are, and always will be, my superior? And by the way, it is no longer Princess. I am now Queen of Really Cool. My parents are on extended leave to Groovy Land. Apparently, they wish to relive their younger years there before they die." She could only smile at the thought of the dignified former King and Queen of Really Cool dressed as hippies, dancing to rock music, surrounded by lava lamps.
"I see," Phantom said. "Then I must congratulate you, Your Highness." He bowed again. This time, Sarah didn't protest. "So what brings you two - rather, you three - here?" he said when he drew himself back up again.
"We were informed," Cha Cha said, "that you and Xero were to become Royalty. I am greatly grieved by the death of Queen Crider. Is there any news on a possible cause for her death?"
"It is very sketchy at the moment," Phantom replied, sitting down in his throne, bouncing Mykal on one knee. He ordered a guard to bring in two chairs for his son and daughter-in-law. The guard returned soon with two of the most comfortable seats the kingdom had to offer, besides the throne. "The only story I have heard so far is that of a possible uprising."
"Uprising?" Sarah asked. "Of who? Supporters of the Queen? Your enemies? Surely you do not have any enemies in Ausum Land?"
"Ah, but surely, I do," the King said sadly. The little seven-year-old in his lap grew restless and leapt to the floor to wander the palace. The King snapped and a guard materialized before them to take Mykal's hand and lead him around the palace. "Tell me, Queen Sarah - "
"Please," Sarah interrupted. "I am not your superior. Sarah will suffice."
"Of course. Tell me, have you heard of the ancient struggle of our land? The war between Brass and Woodwinds?" Cha Cha flinched at the thought. Sarah shook her head. "Long ago, we Brass Players lived here in Ausum Land peacefully, in harmony with the Woodwinds of Lolfail Land. But the Woodwinds grew resentful of the Brass and their successes. The rose up against King Johnson, the King of Ausum Land at the time, and invaded our beloved homeland. A bloody war ensued. Swords clashed. Instruments blasted. And soon enough, all the Eastern Mountains were strewn with the bodies of Brass and Woodwinds alike. After several years of relentless war, our great King Johnson took matters into his own hands. He called upon the powers of his ancestors and brought forth his mighty trumpet. With a single blow, he smote all the Woodwinds in Ausum Land. The Brass retreated to their homes, while King Johnson and his Royal Guard traveled to the Eastern Mountains to build a gate to keep the Woodwinds out of Ausum Land. The Eastern Gate still stands today. But it seems that the Woodwinds are growing restless again. They are rebelling against their confinement to the Mountains. King Johnson had formed a pact with the ruler of Lolfail Land, and they agreed to allow Woodwinds to inhabit the Eastern Mountains of Ausum Land peacefully. But that treaty seems to have been forgotten. Two Woodwind assassins from the Evil Hidden Squad of the Hidden Caves came to the palace this afternoon during the coronation. They assaulted Xero and myself. A guard suffered from a poison dart. A Minusek dart." Sarah gasped. Even in Really Cool Land, Minusek was known as the deadliest, foulest, most cursed poison a man could ever dream of using. "Xero went after the assassins. But he was beaten by one of the men. Apparently, he recognized him. One of the men was Rudat."
Cha Cha nodded. "And the other had to have been Smith. Michael Smith and Alexander Rudat always go on all their missions together."
"Yes, well, a young man by the name of Tuba Justin brought Xero back to us. He had been stabbed with a Minusek dagger. Our doctors were monitoring him, but earlier this evening, he disappeared. He had heard the call of the Ancient Tune of the Heavy Metal Kingdom. I have a feeling he is standing at the Eastern Gates at this very moment. This young man here," he indicated Zento, "is searching for Xero. Perhaps you could show him the way to the Eastern Gates?"
"Of course, Father," Cha Cha said, bowing his head slightly. About that time, the guard returned with Mykal in his arms. He had exhausted himself about halfway up the stairs and had fallen asleep. He placed Mykal in Sarah's arms. He then proceeded to show her to her room on the third floor. It was an enormous room, decorated with candles everywhere, great golden tapestries, a strong-scented maple chest of drawers. The guard soon returned with her things, and Sarah placed Mykal gently in his bed. Cha Cha walked up to the room to grab a few things from his bag, then, after kissing Sarah goodbye, he ran out the door and down the stairs.
"Hold the butter," Sarah said softly.
"And make them throw babies!" Mykal murmured around the thumb he had in his mouth.
Vincent surveyed the crowd again. Finding the familiar figure of the only other Trombone player he knew he ran towards him. "Mass! Whats going on? Why did the Ancient tune play?" Mass the eon old being turned to him. "Ah Vincent there you are boy. I am not sure but I sense the woodwinds rising the second Battle of the Bands is coming. I remember the first one and I remember the great King Johnson. Also I remember the spell he used to summon the Great Instrument. But I will not reveal the spell unless it becomes apparent that we can not win with out it." Mass shuddered. He remembered the war, the bodies, the blood. "Come Vincent we shall form the Jazz squad Trombones and Trumpets combined in one force. In a rare case we even had a Woodwind, but the Woodwinds of the Jazz squad were punished for their turn coat ways by the Woodwind leader. Do not expect another Woodwind to join us." Vincent and Mass walked through the crowd towards the back which was also towards the Palace.
As Mass said this, a hooded figure appeared out of nowhere behind the two Trombones. A strand of red hair could be seen from under his hood, and the gleam of his glasses flashed in the sunlight.
"I wouldn't be so sure," the figure said. He removed his hood to reveal his identity. It was Michael Smith. Everyone rushed to pile on top of the Woodwind, but he merely deflected all their blows and brushed everyone off of him. The crowd of Brass was soon exhausted. Rowlek and Xero saw the man in the cloak and walked over calmly.
"So, Michael," Xero said, "you would be willing to join the Brass and turn against your own Woodwind people?"
Without hesitation, Michael said, "Yes. The ruler of Lolfail Land has grown corrupt and is turning everyone against the Brass. Personally, I see no reason to hate the Brass. Plus, I love Jazz. I couldn't turn down a Jazz Band offer for anything, even if I did hate Brass."
Rowlek smiled and revealed Issmer, the Horn of Justice. In a flash of light, the French horn transformed into a trumpet (Rowlek is an all around Band Geek: he can play any instrument equally). He proceeded to play a series of twelve-bar blues pieces.
"Same here," he said when he was through.
"Then, Micheal is it? Michael the Bari-Sax, the Jazz Band accepts you into our group we recognize your skill and love of music." Bringing out an amulet shaped as a staff of eighth notes waving as a flag in the wind, handed it to Michael. "Rowlek, Xero would the two of you want to join our Jazz band?" So far the Jazz Band consisted of Mass, or Kayne, Michael, and Vincent. If the almighty Jazz Band was to rise again then they would need the most powerful of all the musicians to join forces.
Zento, with one of his greatest skills being to annoy people (zento is roughly based off myself) was entertaining himself by poking fun at Cha Cha along the way. "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? etc."
