Using his new Fallen Paradise-powers, Carter and Cybele warped up to where Zais was confronting Laurine. the Ridleys were circling the position, preventing any escape.
Johnny arrived a few seconds later, along with Sarah. Johnny now wielded the True Sword, and Sarah the Ugly Stick. Fury burned in Johnny's eyes. "It's over Laurine!"

Knox reappeared inside Dynasty City. "This city has a grand future," he said. "I have seen it. It must be protected."
Ara happened to be standing nearby. "Knox? Knox! Is that you?"
"Hello, Ara."
"Where have you been?"
"Around. Listen, I need your help."
"Yeah, anything."
"You need to protect this city. You and the Organization. It has a future that needs protecting. I need you and the rest of them to safeguard it until then."
"What...what about you?"
Knox smiled. "I have a different destiny."
"Knox..." Ara reached up as if to stop him.
"Here, take this child. Raise him."
"What-?"
"His destiny is linked to yours," Knox looked away, out into the distance."
"But, knox!"
He was gone.

Laurine, her back toward the protagonists, chuckled to herself. As the seconds turned into minutes, her chuckles changed into slightly maniacal laughter. "Ha ha ha!" she laughed, extending her arms from her robe to reveal the ridiculously sharp claws on her fingers. "How right you are, Johnny." Laurine turned around to face the group with a bright but wicked smile. "You have all interfered with the plans of the Empire...my Empire for quite some time now, and I don't intend for any more of it to happen. I will kill you where you stand, right here and right now!" Laurine yelled, dashing onto a tall bookcase with ninja like speed.
"But first...I'd like you all to say hello to a few friends of mine." Laurine pressed the badge she was wearing and a previously unseen door on the top floor of the tower opened, revealing the healthy looking but almost assuredly dead figure of General Veran Bara of the Awesome Land Imperial Army. "When you began this Separatist crusade against the Empire, you didn't imagine so many lives would be lost in the process, did you? For each one of those lives you sacrificed in rebellion, may you now suffer! Say hello to my first Death Knight, created from my own special necro-neurotoxin! Too-da-loo!" Laurine waved at the protagonists before disappearing completely.
The floor and walls of the room began to twist and distort until the group appeared to be outside on some sort of battlefield. Without hesitation, the reanimated Bara took out...an AK-47...and began firing on all of the protagonists.

Suddenly Adam stepped into Awesome land. "Fucking hold everything! Death Knight? Really?"
*pulls out a book labeled: Amnesia Journeys* "I don't think so!"

"Now isn't the time for that, Zais!" Johnny raised the True Sword. "Besides, the two stories are technically in one universe so..."

((I haven't read over a page of Amnesia Journeys or Fragments of an Old Friend, so I have no idea what you're talking about.))

Zais scratched his head. "That's...not me." He said, somewhat confused. Adam turned on the other group.
"Damn right! Now bow before me!"
"Hell no Zais yelled. He jumped on Adam and the two proceeded to roll around on the ground in a vicious fistfight.

"Enough!" Johnny leaped forward and drove the True Sword into General Bara's chest. Were it an ordinary blade, it wouldn't have killed him, but the True Sword was no ordinary blade.
Remnants of Bara's soul remained behind in his body. Confronted with the truth of his own death, he fled. The body crumpled and fell without a struggle.
"Laurine! Death Knights won't work!"

"Oh really?" Laurine thought for a moment and sighed. "How about...Someone who is alive!?" Laurine laughed and pressed her badge. "Alastor, bring in our prisoner, please!" Laurine said with a mixture of sadism and glee.
"No! You said that if I made the weapon for you you'd leave her out of this!" Alastor yelled. Off screen Laurine had commanded Alastor to raid Dynasty City in search of his favorite Awesome Land resident.
"Hmm? Oh, no, I never said that. I said I wouldn't kill her. If I use her as a weapon and she's killed by the others, I can't be held accountable for that, can I?" she asked in her sickeningly sweet tone.
"But...You..."
"Or would you rather me kill her immediately and not give her a chance at surviving?" Laurine asked.
A click could be heard as the badge transmission ended and moments later Alastor walked in, his head hanging downward. In his arms was the unconscious Aurora Veralice, whom he set gently upon the ground.
"Aw, who's a good little boy, Alastor?" Laurine smiled. She slowly walked toward Aurora and was about to lift her to her feet when-
BAM!
Alastor punched Laurine directly in the jaw, sending her to the ground in pain.
"I won't allow this anymore! I've been executing your orders for the longest time to prevent Aurora from being harmed, but no more! I'm sick of being treated like a slave, and tonight my servitude ends!" Alastor took a long chain of connected throwing knives and attempted to whip Laurine with it, but she caught it instead and rose to her feet.
"So is this how it's going to be then? You will violate our terms and go against me? And you will allow Aurora to die because of it?" Laurine's voice was as venomous as her claws now, and she made no effort to hide it.
Alastor shook his head and replied "No. I'm going to violate our terms and kill you instead!" He forced the chain out of Laurine's hands and tried to strike her again, only for the chain to be caught once more. This time, the chain of knives melted in Laurine's hands, turning into sludge and dripping to the floor.
"Ha! If you truly insist on defying me, go right ahead! But know that your precious Aurora will die - not by my hand, but by your own - because of it!" Laurine laughed. The brown sludge on the floor moved toward Aurora and entered her body. Seconds later, Aurora stood up, her eyes glowing white as if she were possessed by something. Without hesitation, Aurora grabbed Alastor by the throat and threw him straight through the brick wall and out of the 9002nd floor of the tower remorselessly.
"What a wonderful puppet she makes! With her strength, I can't help but think that she may have made a decent ruler in another country. Oh well!" Laurine giggled, disappearing into smoke. "Do me a favor and kill her quickly, will you? If you do that, feel free to make your way to the top most floor and battle me. Too-da-loo!" came her voice from nowhere.

Johnny's sword faltered slightly. "...Aurora..." Damn it Leon, where are you?

Cybele gazed at Aurora. "I...I can't kill her. I never really liked her, but that was because she was a puppet!" She shook her head and grabbed both of her pistols. "But I won't refuse a fight either."
She glanced at Carter, almost as if she were asking to continue.

"Don't look at me," he said. "I don't have a soul anymore. Whatever I choose...I'll probably pick the wrong choice. For example: there isn't much keeping me from killing her...except you."

Cybele sighed. "Killing her is what Laurine wants us to do. Since I hate her, I'll disobey, but we can't just leave her either. The least we can do is knock her out."
--------------------
Just outside of the tower, a girl is silently creeping in. She looks terribly tired, but that doesn't stop her. She drags a sword behind her as she peers inside. Since she is outside of the tower, the illusion is unseen to her. It looks like a normal tower, but when she walks inside, she immediately sees the others there. She quickly steps back and leans against the wall next to the door.
She suddenly winces and lifts a hand to her face. Scratch marks cover most of her left cheek, but the skin looks badly burned, and the ends of the wound look green. A bright pink is revealed in the cuts. It almost looks like an acid wound.
The girl takes a peek into the illusion again. Her red hair droops over parts of her face, but she doesn't even bother to brush it away. She examines the scene once again. She notices a body lying limp towards the side. She stares at it, recognizing it immediately. The pale skin on her face burns red, and she grips the sword handle tightly. "I'll get you for this, Laurine. I may have been weak, but there's something growing inside me because of you. It's made me just a little bit stronger."

"Knock her out... Johnny!"
"Carter?"
"You gotta do it. I can't."
"What? Why not?"
Carter smirked. "Because I'll end up killing her. No soul, remember?" He took Cybele's hand. "Come on. We're going after Laurine."
"Hey wait!" Johnny shouted, but the were gone already. "Fine...Sarah, with me!"
"Aurora..." Sarah whispered.

Cybele followed. "What's the plan exactly? She's just going to get another dead or unconscious person to be her slave. Me shooting bullets around will probably do as much damage as hitting an alligator with a fly swatter."

"What if the flyswatter's on fire? Or made of diamond? In any case, that's why I brought you along." He risked a look back. "You're supposed to keep anything she conjures up busy while I figure out how to sneak around and kill her."

Cybele nodded. "A distraction..."
---------------
The girl from before snuck inside the room. The walls around them...or "open area" was dark. She stuck to them as she slowly made her way around the battle. She snuck a glance and noticed Aurora. She froze for a moment. She had always liked Aurora. She had been kind to her, even if it were just for a moment. She didn't deserve to be treated like that, and she wanted to help.
She let her head fall, and her gaze landed on the limp body of Bara. I can't help. I have to continue. I have to find Laurine. She went around the rest of the room and headed through the door. The stairs were just in front of her. Laurine was somewhere above her, most likely at the top. She would reach her soon.

Aurora, her eyes glowing an intense white, stared at Sarah and Johnny for a moment, cocking her head to the side as if she were deeply analyzing them. Then, without warning, Aurora started breathing a dark purple, corrosive flame toward the duo, a flame that would not only burn, but completely disintegrate the target.

Johnny raised the False Shield instinctively, holding back the corrosive fire.
"Aurora!" Johnny shouted, trying t get through to her.
"She can't hear us," Sarah warned him.
"We need to get through to her..."
"Give me the Shield."
"What?"
Sarah smoothed her hair back and explained. "It worked with the Death Knight, right? Shouldn't the True Sword's powers work on Aurora?"
"Well...maybe..."
"We won't know until we try." A fierce look crossed her face.
"Okay." Johnny handed over the False Shield, careful to keep the fire being deflected. He waited.
"Now!" Sarah lunged forward, pushing some of the fire directly back, obscuring Aurora's vision. Johnny jumped out form behind and raced to Aurora's side.
"Sorry," he said before plunging the Sword into her side, activating it's power. "Come on..."

The fire coming from Aurora's mouth ceased as quickly as it had begun and Aurora fell to her knees, clutching her head in agony. "Where...Where am I?" she asked, mildly confused and delusional. She turned away from the duo and began to vomit the sickening brown poison Laurine had used to control her. "You? Aren't you supposed to be sentenced to community service?" she asked Johnny and Sarah.
The poison traveled away from Aurora and evaporated into a greenish gas, disappearing from the room and moving up toward the top of the tower.
