"You're...kidding..." Aurora stared in awe at where Leon had just been moments before and proceeded to facepalm. "Leave it to my brother..." she sighed, turning to the rest of the protagonists. "So...What do we do now? We're down one powerful sorcerer and stuck in a dimension that's doomed to fade in a matter of moments. Fortunately for us Laurine has stopped attacking long enough to let us figure out a plan."

"Hey, Johnny! Look!" Sarah turned him so that his back was to Laurine. In her hand she held something small and red. Cha Cha's Soul Patch. "I think we can use this to get out of here."
"But then Laurine will just follow us."
"Not if we wait until the last possible second before using it. " She bit her lip. "but we have to have everybody touching each other, and I'm worried zais might just start killing us at that point."

"How dare you turn your back on me!?" Laurine yelled, lashing her whip straight toward Johnny's back. The positioning of the whip was right behind his heart, of course, because that's how Laurine rolls.

Johnny cried out in pain as the whip sliced through his back. It didn't reach his heart, but it was enough to knock him over. Blood oozed out of the wound and pooled on the...well, ground.
Before he fell, Johnny managed to take the Soul Patch from Sarah and held it close so Laurine couldn't see it. Sarah turned and started to yell at Laurine, but stopped. Something felt weird. Familiar. It was the same feeling she had had a year ago. She was fading away.
"We have to go now."

Aurora dashed over to the rest of them and grabbed one of Johnny's hands. She assumed that he was still bleeding since Laurine's whip was covered in both poison and thorns and Zais logically shouldn't have been able to catch it. LOL LOGIC IN AWESOME LAND.
"Why are you all holding hands? Trying to say a final prayer?" Laurine cackled, raising her hands and summoning an acid flood that would utterly disintegrate the flesh of the protagonists if it hit them. Her own body started violently twitching and seemed to be fading away. "What? What's happening to me?" she asked aloud.

"See you in hell, bitch!" Sarah shouted as the light from the Soul Patch enveloped them, and the sight of Laurine fading away.
"No, maybe not. You won't be going anywhere ever again!" The last word was lost to the emptiness of the Null-Void.

"Oh, hello all." Leon greeted them. He was sitting in a beach chair sipping lemonade, wearing sunglasses and his standard crimson armor. "What happened to Johnny?" he asked nonchalantly, holding his hand over his forehead to block out the sun while he got a good look at the prince. "Looks kinda hurt."
Aurora glared at him and he resumed to drink his lemonade. "We need a hospital!" she yelled. "He was attacked by Laurine who, as you may recall, was wielding a POISON COVERED WHIP! Most of the buildings in Dynasty City are destroyed and the only hospital in Awesome Land is...
"...right over there. In the center. Where the tower used to be." Leon pointed out the blatantly apparent hospital in the distance.
"It...wasn't there before?!" Aurora yelled gleefully. Leon had either used magic to teleport the hospital there or created an entirely new one.
"You didn't think I'd actually leave you guys there to die, did you? No, I'd leave you there to die unless you managed to survive, at which point I would make sure your wounds get tended to. I'm not completely heartless." he finished, throwing an empty glass behind him. It hit Johnny in the head by mistake.

Ridley descended from the sky, picked Johnny up and flew him to the hospital.

Zais yawned loudly and looked around. "Hmmmm Dynasty City." He muttered. "Why did I come here again?" Off in the rubble, he spotted ShadowFiend watching them cautiously. "Ah, now I remember. If you will excuse me, i have some...ground rules to lay down." He stalked over to the shadow agent, who yelped.
Durzo appeared next to Galiana. "Well I see you all got out okay."

"Alright. Looks like Johnny will be taken care of. Thanks, Leon." Aurora smiled. Leon nodded back and took out a glass of dark, eerie looking Shadow Lemonade.
"Would you care for a glass? All the fun of lemonade with none of the nutritional value." Leon chugged down some Shadow Lemonade and summoned another glass. Aurora eyed it with mild distaste.
"Uh...No thanks." she said. Alastor and Lex walked up to the duo, eager to join in on the fun. Aurora turned around and nodded, acknowledging their presence. "Shouldn't we go visit the hospital or something?" she wondered. "Isn't Johnny your friend, Leon?"
"Hmm...In a loose sense of the term. He never did join my side while I was being possessed by Hystoger..." Leon muttered. "But we might as well see if he survives. I plan on adventuring some more after this. I'll need a partner or two." Leon and company thus walked into the hospital to see how Johnny was doing.

Zais...In government? Aurora's government? This won't end well... he thought.

Johnny, as it turns out, would be fine. Most of the poison was extracted, and they were able to seal up his wound. there would be a scar, but otherwise he would be fine.
"Why is all of the food here, Shadow food?" he asked as Leon and the others walked in.
"Johnny!" Sarah threw her arms around him. "I thought I'd lost you."
"Who, me? Never!"
The four Artifacts of Wisdom were set up by the window in perfect order. Next to them sat Bill Nye. "See kids? Science rules!"
"Thanks Bill."
"Any time." He noticed Leon. "We really have to talk about who is running Awesome Land nowadays."

Galiana looked a little sullen and hopeless. Cybele frowned at her and tapped Leon on the shoulder. "Do you think they could tend to Galiana at all? Her face is badly damaged. Maybe they could at least help with the pain?"

Carter sighed. He drifted through the Null-Void alone. He purposefully stayed behind when the others escaped. He couldn't bear to exist in this state anymore: soulless. He was content to bear the weight of his sins through eternity, until he finally faded away.

"Awesome Land doesn't have any plastic surgeons as far as I know." Leon replied to Cybele. "But I'm sure we could-
"Awesome Land?" rang the familiar singsong voice of everyone's favorite actress.
"Wait, what?" Leon asked no one, preparing to teleport to a nonconfrontational area. "Shouldn't you be- " Leon and Aurora began in unison.
"The Null-Void hasn't completely devoured me yet." came Laurine's voice. "I have just enough time to deliver a final message through my trusty megaphone. Now with interdimensional sound capabilities." she cackled.
"What could you possibly need to say seconds before your erasure from existence?" Leon and Aurora questioned.
"Are you familiar with the literary term Chekhov's Gun? Where something happens early on in the story only to not play a part until the end?"
The two siblings remained silent and allowed her to continue.
"Tell me, protagonists...Do you know why I took over Aurora's body early on in the battle and then left without explanation?"
Leon, who had been unconscious during that phase of the battle, shook his head, having no idea what Laurine was talking about. Alastor, on the other hand, shook his head to indicate that they were all screwed. "No...No, no, no, no, no..."
"Hehehe! That's right, Alastor! For those of you who don't know, the superweapon I've been using to destroy Dynasty City, Heaven's Judgment, is located in Alastor's laboratory. Easy enough to access, yes, but for its override sequence to be activated it needs Aurora's fingerprints, something Alastor never thought I'd be able to obtain..." Laurine giggled.
Aurora raised an eyebrow at Alastor, wondering why he had access to her fingers. "That's mildly creepy..." she muttered.
"I possessed Aurora's body to access this weapon, and now I can control it from right here, without Alastor having to operate it!" she laughed hysterically.
"Uh-oh..." said all of Austin's characters at once.
"That's right, fools! As the final act of this play, tremble and despair! I shall destroy your entire empire!" Laurine coughed violently as her body began to fade from her place in the Null-Void. "I guess this play...had a surprise ending..." were here final final words before she was gone completely.

Outside one of the hospital windows, a huge beam of light shot out from Alastor's laboratory directly above the center of Awesome Land, or, more importantly, directly above where the hospital was located. The beam of light was shooting straight toward Super Land, the floating continent directly above Awesome Land's central point.

Somewhere on Super Land:
Aeon, the current ruling monarch of Super Land, was bawling his eyes out when he heard and felt a violent tremble attacking the entire island.
"What was- AH!" he yelled. An enormous hole appeared straight through Super land, decimating a good portion of the population and the ground as well. Energy from the superweapon could be seen pouring out of the hole toward space. The amount of radiation from the beam of energy and the lack of the Orb of Wind were causing a heavy destabilization throughout the country, causing Super Land to rapidly descend to the ground.
"Oh boy..." Aeon said. "Um, guys! GUYS!" he yelled to a bunch of panicked citizens. The ones who had survived the beam of light and the assault by the Imperial Army, anyway. "Yea...Remain calm. We're all gonna be totally fi-" Another tremor shook the nation. "We're screwed. Hope you know how to use your wings, because I suggest you fly out of here." Aeon said, dashing off of the island to a faraway place. The one or two survivors that remained followed suit.

Back at Awesome Land
As Super Land fell increasingly quickly toward Awesome Land, an artificial eclipse was created, darkening the land.
"Oh boy..." Alastor said. Aurora started shaking uncontrollably and walked up to Leon, who did the same. Lex wiped some sweat from his forehead and sighed. "I guess we're all done for, then?" he asked.
